      Albie Rodriguez Hollywood and the entertainment business as a whole is controlled by bad people. Dave Chappelle talked about how toxic Hollywood is, he walked out. Suddenly walks back in years later like nothing happened and is back on top better than ever. Sorry, but that happens when they allow it to happen. That ain't the same Dave anymore. You gotta look at the entertainment business like a Mafia ruled by men with many rules to follow. You follow the rules, they will make you as big as you want. There's no freedom in that business.

    Not only did he retain his dignity and self-respect, he now owns the rights to the Chappelle Show, and makes multi-million deals with Netflix for each new special while staying true to himself. Bravo Dave!

      @@robertraymond762 that was part of his deal, I believe it’s a 3 deal show and he gets mad royalties and percentages of all 3 but gets paid for 2. He agreed to it so I’m sure the payoff was mad worth it
      Smart for both In the end, gambles on the first and gets paid for 3 at end.. as if gambling on Chappelle and comedy is even a gamble

      Comedy Central actually owns the exclusive rights to Chappelle's Show; Dave receives no royalties from it.
      That's why he asked people not to watch the show on one of his recent Netflix specials

    Conan is the best modern American talk show host. I've seen others try to steal the spotlight from guests or even make the guests or just not be great natural conversationalists that can smoothly lead to the new prepd topics, but Conan is a true natural.

    Sometimes I forget just how famous Dave Chappelle is, especially back in the 2000’s. The crowd went absolutely insane for him. It was like they were seeing the Beatles get interviewed or something. Never seen that much excitement over a comedian. But Dave deserves it 🐐🐐

      Dave actually hated how famous he got because of the Chapelle Show. He said he couldn't do stand-up shows at comedy clubs because of people shouting out things like "I'm rich bitch" or "I'm Rick James". He even talks about it in a special how everywhere he went people would bug him with quotes from the show.

    Dave Chappelle has changed. It's amazing how these jokes, largely based on his seeming innocence and harmless nature - his youthful nature helps too. A non-physical slapstick version of Charlie Chaplin of you like. Today, he is totally different. How he manages to retain his ability to create amazing comedy whilst holding mature conversations with his audience really is mind blowing.
