Well the trail has been graded over and all technical obstacles are now smoothed out. The tree and roots with the rock... the off camber portion towards the end.... the rutted area... all smooth for now. th-cam.com/video/_QUhVn0fg0w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_MJjJv9d91tKTXOg

I did Hurricane Creek solo in my stock Ranger Tremor. It did the trail fine, except for the hoop steps hitting a couple times... BUT, that section where you winched - I didn't go far enough driver up the rock... I was worried about sliding down the rock and to the right. Well, I slid anyway and almost slid off the edge! The edge of my tire was over the edge. I was too scared to move it at all, so I got out and ran both ways up the trail till I finally found someone - a team of Jeeps coming up the trail. They winched my front end to the left and I continued on. God bless those people!

I have seen several videos of Hurricane Creek, but your video covers more of what to see and expect on the trail and I appreciate that. It's definitely been a bucketlist trail for me also....I would probably go with a couple people. Those technical sections would give me anxiety if I went solo.

My wife and I was able to do this trail about 4 months ago. we did it solo as well and didn't see another jeep until we got to the end. My jeep is on 35's with a front locker so it made it a little easier. I knew when you got to the "rock and the tree" you still had one more to go that was going to test you. Great job on this trail Matt and being safe and pulling line. Thumbs up to Randi with the spotting. By far one of my favorite trails, it has everything, beauty, technical, and some great camping areas. happy you had a chance to enjoy it as well. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

There are other bigger things them beas and big cats living in them mountains by max patch and spring creek areas in Madison county,nc. I know cryptid researchers who have going 18" long foot prints that were 11" across the toes and 8" across the heel!
There were more logging roads you could have driven on that take off from that max patch road. I plan on going back up there soon yo drive on those other logging roads. Now max patch toad would have run you north into hwy 107 that comes out on Del Rio onto hqy 25 which will run you either east to hit springs or you can honest on hwt 25 back into newport,tn.
Driving up to max patch right before to get yo the parking lot if you look yo tour kept you will see the cowboy camping site for the AT and a firestry roadhouse can drive back down the mountain side.
You can also take Waterville exit off interstate 40 and drive up green corner road ( gravel rd) up to turn right onto big creek rd. Then follow that road to turn right onto gulf road which you will drive on all the way up to max patch.
Qolf creek road is another good mountain logging road you can het too off upper shut road out of hwy 25 and hot springs.

As a local to the area I would say you could do it, but I wouldn’t advise it. It feels tight in our Hummer H3 and Xterra. The biggest truck I’ve seen come through it relatively okay without tearing up the trail was a 1500 Rebel, but it came out with trail damage. These trails aren’t really meant for trucks that size.
