*Update:* Here are the first 17+ things you need to do after getting the M4 iPad Pro: th-cam.com/video/1WqRbmWtu3w/w-d-xo.html Are you planning to pick up a new M4 iPad Pro?
I have a 13 pro max iPhone, 14 inch MacBook pro, and I ordered the 11 inch iPad pro. I briefly considered the 13 but figured it was too big. My 14 inch macbook has a mini LED screen instead of a OLED which is why I was considering it. But to me at least the 13 inch would feel like holding a small TV in my hand. The bigger screen is nice for HDR content though. I preordered my 11 inch for pick up at the apple store so i’ll check out the 13 but I think i’ll still stick to the 11 inch
I gave my M1 11 inch to my daughter and got the M4 11in with the Magic Keyboard and new Apple Pencil. If I really needed the bigger screen I would just bring my 14in M3 MBPro. It is definitely lighter and thinner and the keyboard is amazing…but the screen🎉
Speakers are sucky compared to my old iPad Pro 2018 12.9. I miss my old iPad but I gave it to my brother. I refuse to get a Magic Keyboard. It’s a waste of money when I have a mbp m1.
Hi, I just visited it in the store yesterday. I'm upgrading from 10.2''. It just seems so discomfortable to type on. I use notes heavily so it is important for me to be able to type easily. Is it because i'm not used to typing on larger keyboard yet? Did you face the same issue initially? Also, watching even 1080p on YT, I can see videos blur because of watching same resolution on larger screen. Is it clear? Is it better for watching YT?
They make the most margins on storage, on base models their net margins are less than 10%, that’s why they always give 1 step lower storage than most people require
I picked up the m4 13 inch and love it, the nano is good but it dulls the colours and if you want you can also buy a matte screen protector for glossy iPad
I switched from 11 to the 12.9 pros just simply for the XDR display, im so happy that now the 11 have the same pro features (display wise) as the 13 pro. Ill switch back to 11 again! 🎉
@@spongeknock7387 11 for sure. I had not missed the bigger screen nor the weight. Also, I have a 14 MBP so, it was like having 2 laptops when had the 13 iPad Pro plus the 14 MBP. Now I feel that I have really a portable iPad and not a second laptop.
I’ve never had the 11” before. I’ve either had the 13” or the mini and was never really satisfied with either. The 13” is nice when stationary but heavy to carry when on the go or when on the couch and too big when you’re not multitasking. The mini was light and easy to carry but not enough screen real estate. Maybe the 11” will be the sweet spot. Granted the fomo of the 13” gets me lol.
@@BrandonButch are you aware that when purchasing a new iPad Pro you can ask for the stickers? That’s how they’re doing it now. It’s optional. And the stickers are free when you ask. But yes, they’re not including them in the box for the foreseeable future it seems
Having had both sizes twice now (in 2021 I had one of each), I did not regret going with the 11" this time. Much easier to carry around and it takes up less space in a bag. Unless you need it as a full time Procreate canvas, I'd stick with the 11". The unwieldiness of the 13" isn't a weight or heft issue, it always just felt too tall when holding it. If you plan on benching the thing at a desk 95% of the time, I think I'd go with the bigger screen. Otherwise I'd recommend the 11". With the display differences being nonexistent now it was a no brainer for me.
@@lafosh7234 It’s subjective everyone is different. Try the 13 for a few days and if you like it, keep it. If not you have 14 days to return and exchange at Apple to get the 11”.
I just got my 13” ipad air. I got it because my 2018 ipad Pro Display stopped working from what I believe was bending over the years. It was well taken care of, but I believe I bent it zipping up an overstuffed bag. I saw that the new Pro was even thinner and didn’t want to risk it bending, so I got the Air. But the ipad air does not have a 4K display. I feel like I’m being too picky, but even compared to a 2018 ipad pro, the air display feels disappointing. I’m thinking about returning it for the Pro
I currently have iPad Pro 10.5” 2018 and planning on upgrade soon. Which one to buy, iPad Air M2 13” or iPad Pro M4 11”? Considering the price is similar and I still need to buy apple pencil as well. I am using it for media & note taking. For heavy use, I still have MBP M1 16 inch
I used paperlike company and if you had a problem with the installation, they send a free replacement, no only that cost 1/8 of nano coat,€and if you get tired you can take away any time. Better solution
It makes no difference if you are watching movies or consuming content. In apps like procreate or music apps more ram = more layers or more instruments you can put on a track. So it really only matters if your use case will take advantage of it.
Ended up picking up the 13 inch after having the 11 inch m1 for the past few years loving the size and weight of the new M4 also have a iPad mini that I use when laying in bed. Just wish they would make a pro mini someday. Would be perfect.
I usually am in for the 11” version due to the whole package is lighter. Although I am intrigued by the 13” as well, is to too big!? The screen format seems more square, not 100% if I want to have a heavier device. Unsure.
It has never been the weight that's off with the 12.9 iPads. It has been the center of gravity and the weird aspect of handling it. The biggest issue between the last 11" and 12.9" was the LCD vs mini-led. Now they are both OLED and the 13" is marginally more expensive for what I would pay for a tablet, get the 11".
Think the 11 is better plus you can buy 512 gb storage option and still get it for less than the 13 inch. One other reviewer mentioned that the 256 is on one chip and slower
Went to the Apple Store today and tried the new Pros. The 13 inch is definitely much more comfortable to hold now that it’s lighter. I was able to one hand it for a while no problem. Problem is that it’s just too big of a screen even if it was one handed. Right now I’m using my old 11 inch pro typing on the software keyboard in landscape without any problems reaching all the letters. The 13 inch in landscape is just impossible to do that. You can’t reach with your thumb comfortably the entire keyboard if you hold it landscape in your hands. The screen size difference is quite MASSIVE in person though. Really really noticeable. You wouldn’t think it would be but when you put them side by side the 11 inch looks too small 😫
Im glad that almost everyone likes 11 more than 13 cuz i just ordered 11 but i just thought 13 might be so big and i would have a pc or laptop rather than 13 😁😁
Thank you for another great video as usual! After spending more time with both iPads and if money is not an issue, would you go with the nano-texture display or glossy display?
I learned from owning the M2 iPad Pro 12.9'' that at that size it's unusable as a tablet lol it's not only too heavy but the screen size is just too big to use it in bed, on the sofa, to take to work etc. I one the iPad mini 6 as well that I've been using as my EDC, I just ordered the 11" pro M4, it'll replace my mini 6!
I think the 11" model with the base storage of 256GB, no SIM connectivity (you can always use your phone as a router) and the Pro pencil is the sweet spot if you have Apple Student pricing and are not willing to settle for no Face ID and no OLED on the Air models (and also don't want the old M2 chip). Magic Keyboard is not necessary if you use your iPad as an iPad and not as a computer. Unfortunately, the old keyboards are not compatible... It will replace my 11" iPad Pro 2018 with only 64 GB of storage.
Excellent video. I think I would lean towards the 11 inch. When I see the 13 inch iPad in your hand, it just looks too big to carry around. I visualize traveling on an airplane and someone accidentally bumping into a very expensive product. I will also be carrying my work laptop with me so I need to take that into consideration. Thank you.
I am very much interested in the 11 inch. I know it is not the first choose for so many people, however I really want the most powerful and small powerhouse. I hope more people compare work flow and split screen or manager options between the two, and with keyboard workflow between the two. Ultimate portability while doing live streaming and video and photo editing.
I picked mine up today, and in comparing this pro vs my pro v, there are +s and -s. 1) the keyboard is ‘cold’ as metal (which it is) and the other (plastic) is warm 2) the speakers are not as good 3) the nano texture is great, but more difficult to see (as in bright and precise) 4) lightweight is great, but not significantly lighter than my other pro 5) definitely faster (so far, before all apps are downloaded and installed). So I am of the opinion that my Vision Pro created far more excitement for me and does to this day. If the M4 iPad can beam up with the Vision Pro, then I would hoop and holler. At this point, I’m on the fence and may take back to Apple. BTW - has anyone noticed how less time, more sales forceful, and less ‘friendly’ and ‘helpful’ that Apple retail employees have become? Just curious of other’s experience of Apple employees say within the last few months.
Glare? What other reasons for the nano texture? Does it affect feel of drawing with pencil? Is it sturdier than standard display.? What does it co$$t to get repaired, display, labor, etc?
I appreciate Brandon's thorough walkthrough of both the 11” and 13” iPad Pro models. The new features like the Nano texture display and the updated Magic Keyboard is amazing. Can't wait to get my hands on one!
@@BrandonButch probably the 13” model since it’s useful for connecting to an external display and almost similarly used as a MacBook like experience when paired with the Magic Keyboard
I don't see the Magic Keyboard as a must have if you already own a Laptop. For people that will exclusively use the iPad then yes but how many only have an iPad? I will say save 30 to 35% and don't get the Magic Keyboard.
Thanks for the great review. Did you try the new magic keyboard with 13" Ipad on your laps while writing on the keyboard? in the previous version it used to be unstable and flipping over.
Looking forward to a comparison of Iapd Air and Pro? focusing on which one to buy and which one is suitable if you are an academic, student or teacher..thanks
I finally got my M4 iPad Pro…I throughly enjoy it, but one thing that sticks out is the bezels…they seem so big! I wish they would shrink those bezels! The new Magic Keyboard is awesome. Coming from a 2018 iPad Pro, the new M4 iPad Pro and keyboard much lighter.
The 13” was conceived for us, artists. It’s for drawing. I don’t understand people complaining about the 13” being big, it’s for people who DRAW, since day 1. 🙄
After my GCSEs I’m looking to buy an iPad Pro, and I’m not sure between getting the 13 inch or 11 inch, if I were to get the 11 inch I was wondering if it is worth also getting a monitor so I could use an external keyboard and mouse with the monitor and iPad while at home at my desk, but then I could just use the iPad when I’m at school for example. What do you think? Is there any point also getting a monitor, and should I go 11 inch or 13 inch?
Wish Apple will have a longer cable charger I just upgraded my iPad Pro 11 inch with the one camera bump to the new 13 inch oled I already noticed the video quality is amazing so far and it was really fast and you can get the 2 tb for nano glass
That screen on the 13" model seems insane. I wanted an 11 but after seeing the 13 I'm thinking the extra money may be worth it. Especially if you keep 5-7 yrs
I have the previous ipad pro 11 inch, i really want the xdr display and more brightness but soo annoying that it means i need to buy a new apple pencil and magic keyboard lol coz i use them alot!
Loved the pro when I went to check it out at the store. However the Magic Keyboard and the iPad adds more weight all together, you add a 5lb dumbbell to your travel backpack. So if you do a lot of traveling put weight into consideration. I went to with iPad 11 air from having the 4th gen iPad Pro 10.6. So far I am enjoying it.
Thanks for your observations. I just got the 11" normal glass version, with 1 T. My Geek yielded 3684 and 1401. Honestly, I notice that the PAD is thinner than my previous 11" Pro, but with the keyboard I don't feel a great difference in weight. The display is superb, whereas the earlier Pro cost me a certain amount of eye fatigue. Before buying Pro 11", I had been led to believe that it could cope with the 2nd generation pencil, but such was not the case. The new Pro will, in any case, be a brilliant companion.
Thanks for the comparison I find for watching content with the aspect ratio there is not a lot of difference between 11 and 13 just bigger black bars. Thanks again
Once again I watched more than a dozen reviews and once again I get the most out of your reviews, thank you!!! Quick question if you get a chance can you show how you can get 2 different wallpaper one for Lock Screen and a different one for the main screen, I was able to do this quickly for years but not anymore. Plus what is going on with the alarm on my the Apple iPhone it doesn’t wake me up anymore.
Awesome, glad to hear that!! 🫡 To do that, just tap "customize home screen and then tap photo & select another wallpaper. As for the alarm, this has been a common issue lately, maybe try disabling Attention Aware Features under Face ID settings to see if that fixes it
I'll be waiting for the apple WWDC event before i decide. If iPad OS remains the same with a little tweak here and there, I'll be keeping my M1 12.9! If there is a massive update that makes the iPad more MAC OS I'll buy it.
I got both but i notice the 11 inch darks like blacks that u see in procreate background/other menus are like washed grey. Idk if mine is fault but i notice a difference, whereas the colors seem to look way better on the 13. I do notice in LR there isn't too big of a difference, it's mostly those blacks, but still it looks so washed. Is this the case with u ? Considering they said its the same display tech, not sure why its that noticeable to me.
Just got the 13" iPad Pro in today and it's pretty cool! Will get the keyboard and pencil soon, still debating on them. This is mainly for car rides and my 5 year old to learn with, so I think he will benefit more with the accessories.
I just bought one actually, but I can’t find anywhere a replacement for the Magic keyboard or anything similar case or somthing for the iPad because the Magic keyboard is pretty pricey
11 inch all the way for me . I traded my 12.9 M2 pro for the 11 inchM4. The 12. 9 Was and still way too big for me. I usually take my iPad almost everywhere with me, to my back patio, my pool and hot tub. The 11 inch is going to be so much easier to carry. I’m just waiting for UPS to drop it off.
I made the same mistake a year and a half ago and kept it just because of the mini LED display. I was just waiting for this year 11 inch to be released. Now it’s almost here in front of my door, I just can’t wait.
Well, people would need to buy it separately from Apple or a different brand. It doesn't seem to be a huge issue nowadays than it would have been years ago.
Seen this change upsets many people, probably for the price paid. I think you can pick up a reasonably priced charger, it doesn't need to be made by Apple. Although, I would advise choosing a reputable brand to avoid damaging the device.
The only reason why 13” inch works best, and it’s least talked about is the use as music sheet replacement. Sadly, it’s impossible to read music on the 11” iPad. Portabily + 120Hz refresh rate… that leaves us to no choice but a 13” pro. Not a digital content artist here. A musician/teacher.
With the new iPad Pro now available, what would I be missing if I tried to use a 13-inch iPad Pro instead of a MacBook Pro M3 Max (acknowledging but not considering the screen size and initial price)?
If you’re me, you would miss a full, robust OS. Don’t get me wrong, love my iPad, but it’s not a replacement for my MBP, it’s a companion. Your use case may vary and it might be fine for you to go iPad only. Just didn’t work for me.

Should i get 11 or 13 inch? using it for normal use and travel
Glare? What other reasons for the nano texture? Does it affect feel of drawing with pencil? Is it sturdier than standard display.? What does it co$$t to get repaired, display, labor, etc?
nano screen replaces random "paper like" screen protectors. So it influence feel
I appreciate Brandon's thorough walkthrough of both the 11” and 13” iPad Pro models. The new features like the Nano texture display and the updated Magic Keyboard is amazing. Can't wait to get my hands on one!
Thanks for the support! Which one are you wanting to get your hands on?
@@BrandonButch probably the 13” model since it’s useful for connecting to an external display and almost similarly used as a MacBook like experience when paired with the Magic Keyboard
I don't see the Magic Keyboard as a must have if you already own a Laptop. For people that will exclusively use the iPad then yes but how many only have an iPad? I will say save 30 to 35% and don't get the Magic Keyboard.
My M1 12.9 is working perfectly. I can’t imagine purchasing a new one. You can honestly grab one refurbished for much cheaper and great performance.
The size difference is actually insane i didn't know that 13 inch is that big
Thanks for the great review. Did you try the new magic keyboard with 13" Ipad on your laps while writing on the keyboard? in the previous version it used to be unstable and flipping over.
Not yet but I will be tonight and the rest of the week! Will mention this in my review for sure
2 days later and already hate how easy it is for the pencil to become detached and roll onto the screen due to its thinness…
Kinda crappy the Apple pencil 2 will not work with new iPad. That stopped me from buying it.
Surprised that’s the touch pad on 11” Magic Keyboard did not increase in size as much as the 13” proportionately.
My m4 11 inch didn’t include any charger, just the cable
11 inch iPad Pro 256gb wifi is in Australia $1699.00
Wish Apple will have a longer cable charger I just upgraded my iPad Pro 11 inch with the one camera bump to the new 13 inch oled I already noticed the video quality is amazing so far and it was really fast and you can get the 2 tb for nano glass
Great info! Thank you! I can’t wait for Christmas! 😏
The screen bezels are the same I believe?
What watch band are you wearing?
That screen on the 13" model seems insane. I wanted an 11 but after seeing the 13 I'm thinking the extra money may be worth it. Especially if you keep 5-7 yrs
So what did you go with?
@@dextorinator973 I'm sticking with the 11th cause after playing with the 13 that's just way too big for me for day-to-day operations
Do you know when the embargo is gonna be lifted? So you can actually compare this. IPad to previous ipads?
Disappointed to find out that the nano texture does not make the surface feel like paper when using the Apple Pencil Pro.
What about the sound compared to the M2 ?
What gen are they on now?
Can you use previous Apple Pencil with current iPads?
what's the total weight of the 11" with the magic keyboard?
Thanks for the comparison
I find for watching content with the aspect ratio there is not a lot of difference between 11 and 13 just bigger black bars.
Thanks again
No M4 for me but I did just upgraded to the iPad 10TH Gen🔥
For $350? That's a great deal
The price is right, but that non-laminated display would drive me nuts. Why I opted for the Air 4 (and then the Air 5 when I accidentally broke it…).
@@BrandonButch 256GB aswell🔥
Which screen size is better? For watching movies, reading and writing books but multitasking as well
Reading and writing 11 inch, movies and multitasking 13inch. Neither does both great.
To do that, just tap "customize home screen and then tap photo & select another wallpaper.
13 pro just delivered today…how easy is transfer?
I got both but i notice the 11 inch darks like blacks that u see in procreate background/other menus are like washed grey. Idk if mine is fault but i notice a difference, whereas the colors seem to look way better on the 13. I do notice in LR there isn't too big of a difference, it's mostly those blacks, but still it looks so washed. Is this the case with u ? Considering they said its the same display tech, not sure why its that noticeable to me.
Just got the 13" iPad Pro in today and it's pretty cool! Will get the keyboard and pencil soon, still debating on them.
This is mainly for car rides and my 5 year old to learn with, so I think he will benefit more with the accessories.
what kind of screen protector will you put on the nano screen?
No screen protector for it
Brandon: *Comes home with a bunch of Apple products.
Brandon's mom: "Stop buying every single iPad and iPhone! Are you trying to get homeless?!"
I just bought one actually, but I can’t find anywhere a replacement for the Magic keyboard or anything similar case or somthing for the iPad because the Magic keyboard is pretty pricey
Have you considered the new Logitech Combo Touch?
11 inch all the way for me . I traded my 12.9 M2 pro for the 11 inchM4. The 12. 9 Was and still way too big for me. I usually take my iPad almost everywhere with me, to my back patio, my pool and hot tub. The 11 inch is going to be so much easier to carry. I’m just waiting for UPS to drop it off.
I ordered 11’ pro and in store today upgraded to the 13’ but I’m going to have to take it back and get the 11’ it’s just too big to hold in bed etc.
I made the same mistake a year and a half ago and kept it just because of the mini LED display. I was just waiting for this year 11 inch to be released. Now it’s almost here in front of my door, I just can’t wait.
I had the M1 12.9, traded it for the M2 11. Glad I did! I knew which M4 I wanted. Stuck with the 11.
Too big to travel with. I wish they kept the 9.7 and 10 inch.
would have loved for you to grab your old ipads and put them side by side
They both good ngl but idk when i might get one
Does the cloth only come with the 13inch? I don’t recall my 11inch having one in the box unfortunately
Finally upgrading from a 2018 iPad Pro
Yea, I just made that mistake. Sold my 2020 and this iPad just doesn't feel much different at all. TBD WWDC.
hi bro, can ipad pro do the works of mac book for a student
In te EU version, the box doesn't include the adapter, just the cable.. 🤔
Well, people would need to buy it separately from Apple or a different brand. It doesn't seem to be a huge issue nowadays than it would have been years ago.
@@SPFboy86 I agree with you, but I don't understand why they provide it in the rest of the world.
I think the camera is not centered because the FaceID module. It's the same for iPhones
Great review thank you
Thanks, will upgrade my 5 year old iPad mini to an 11 inch, books and sheet music 🤗
No power brick supplied in the UK and EU ☹️
Seen this change upsets many people, probably for the price paid. I think you can pick up a reasonably priced charger, it doesn't need to be made by Apple. Although, I would advise choosing a reputable brand to avoid damaging the device.
I kept the freshener in my official Apple Vision Pro Travel Case because the travel case smells so good.
Is this the nano glass?
The only reason why 13” inch works best, and it’s least talked about is the use as music sheet replacement. Sadly, it’s impossible to read music on the 11” iPad. Portabily + 120Hz refresh rate… that leaves us to no choice but a 13” pro. Not a digital content artist here. A musician/teacher.
why impossible on 11"? software problem?
@@FertassiFarah not at all a software problem. It’s the size that 11” makes the notes look smaller than the actual sheet music.
