What's the very first thing you do when getting a new iPad?
Set it up from the previous one I have.
Screen protector, case and the purchase of AppleCare plus.
iPad 8th gen. Still works great
Open the box and turn it on.
Search for things to turn off in setting like apple spying on me…
The 80% limit really works. I’ve had it on my iPhone 15 pro since launch, and I’m at 210 cycles and still at 100% health.
That's awesome to hear! I'd imagine it makes an even larger impact on the iPads. We will see!
Tricky for me on my iPhone 15 Pro max because I’m generally well below 20% charge when I head to bed and charge at night. Don’t wanna run out of gas before bed c
I charge to 100%, primarily use fast chargers, 243 cycles and 100%
Same with my 15pro. Kept in 80% limit only charge it to 100 when I’m going to events or concerts. Still at 100 percent capacity since launch day
I can’t get the logic - why would I want to experience poor batter life in a brand new device? How many years of normal use (including occasionally letting the iPad sit on a charger to 100%) would result in the battery health dropping down to 80%? My 2018 iPad Pro has only just hit ~80% after many years of faithful service… just enjoy the 10hours & move on
I Just received my new iPad Pro 13 today. This is actually my very first IPad and tablet I ever owned. I’m so excited! 😊
Just got iPad Pro 13inch today, trust me it’s phenomenal!!!
What have you done in one day to know that is phenomenal?
Thanks for this - I’ve been using an iPad Pro since the original launch, and there are a few tips in here which are new to me and will improve my workflow. Thanks again.
All tips were helpful as a new iPad user. This device is amazing!! I have disabilities and had an appointment scheduled at my local Apple Store when I picked it up to help me.
Just purchased a new 13” M4 iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard, and your video is absolutely EXCELLENT! An enormous help! Thank you so much Brandon!!!
Can you spare some money so I can get one too.. maybe just 50% of the price? xD
Great video. Thanks for clearing up the dynamic volume thing for me. In landscape when adjusting volume, I thought I was going crazy. 😝
Thanks for sharing. Nice ideas. Blessings on your day.
Thank you Brandon! I picked up the M4 Ipad pro 13" and this is very helpful!
Great video!. Always like this sort of video finding out these hidden settings thanks
really helpful breakdown! thank you!
Fantastic video to improve the user’s iPad experience. Thank you!
14:10 If you are struggling to get this done, the Swipe finger from corner only works when the stage manager is turned off.
Was gonna mention this!
Very great tips! Thanks!
I still love my gen 3 12.9inch ipad but love the look of the M413. Great show!
Another great and informative video from Brandon. Probably the best Apple-related channel on TH-cam.
Very helpful thanks! I learned a bunch of new things. I just setup my new iPad Pro 13” today.
awesome, glad to hear! Enjoy your 13" Pro, it's awesome!
Awesome video! Great info. Thanks 😊
These are my favorite videos to watch, and this guy does them best. I’m definitely walking through right now doing these with my new IPad lol
Thanks man! Appreciate it
Thank you so much! For calculator, from home screen, swipe left
Great video- very valuable and helpful content. You saved me a ton of time and I would have never discovered many of these tips.
Awesome, that’s the goal! Enjoy your new iPad!
Amazing video and explanation! Thans a lot and have a nice day!
thanks! it was helpful for first a time apple user!
You explain things really good haha thanks
Thanks! That's my goal 🤓
Outstanding tutorial for new M-4 !!!!! Waiting for I Pad Pro 11" M-4 to arrive 😀😀😀
Thanks!
Wanted to say….that was a great, simple, and quick tutorial. Nice.
I would like a workflow video for iPhone and iPad like how one uses it through the day and its multitasking features. Maybe a future video😁. Great job on this video!
Great video! Thank you for your tips, I bought the 13 inch iPad Pro 256gb(space black color).
Thank You
Never knew about the 4 finger gesture to go back home. NICE!!! Not sure how I didn't know this, but glad i do now!
It's def one of the best gestures on iPadOS!
Amazing video! I thought I knew exactly how I wanted it setup until I watched this! :)
That's what I like to hear! haha
Thanks
Dude these MacBooks look amazing to bad I can’t afford it 💀 still love to watch your vids❤
I know they look like MacBooks now but.. 🤣
Not a MacBook lol
@@mokaLAREit was a joke because iPads are starting to look like MacBooks
@@gaminggod1979 I see. My bad for not getting it. 😄
I love it - promised myself I wouldn’t buy it and two days later i dropped 2300 got the 2TB. They are as expensive as MacBooks now. I just hope a power OS is coming this fall.
Great stuff! Also on the small keypad, if you use the pen, swipe text is available.
The best tutorial to follow tbh he covered everything
🙌
You had me dying when you said built like a boeing 🤣
Right 😆😂
Mine is arriving today i cant wait
are you planning on using it as your main device?
@@bovro7636 no my main device is my m1 pro MacBook. I plan on using this for my art tho
😊TYVM
Do u think by turning the iPad OFF when not in use it might save on battery life the most?
I use my iPad a lot and the battery drains to 5-10%. Is it still worth using the 80% limit?
You are the coolest TH-camr ever
Fantastic video, even though I've been using iPad Pro for years, I've always used a separate bluetooth keyboard and for the first time, with this new M4 iPad Pro, I also bought the new keyboard and Pencil Pro ... so your video taught me a lot of tips I was unaware of.
One thing on this new M4 iPad Pro that I find a bit frustrating, is that with the M4 iPad on the keyboard feeling so similar to my MacBook laptop, so I continually try using the keyboard and trackpad to glide over to my other iPad, as I'm able to do on the MacBook with "Universal Control". It seems that this function should also be available on the M4 iPad Pro with its capable hardware. I always have a few iPad Pros set up next to each other and when using my MacBook keyboard I can glide across to access all iPads simultaneously, to drag & drop files, etc. This "Universal Control" feature definitely needs to be added to iPad so that users only need a single keyboard to operate all open iPads (and should also work with iPhone if it is also open nearby) with all devices connected to the same Apple ID.
I’ve found a 5 finger pinch to be way more consistent than 4 fingers for closing apps. You kinda have to swipe up with 4 fingers to go home, but 5 fingers is just a pinch.
I don’t have Video Effects on my new iPad Pro (M4) 11”…..I went to.Control Center and it wasn’t an option like you demonstrated in this video. Can you help me for the Center Stage settings?
Thanks for the video. Since the new IPad Pro uses OLED display, I advice to turn the darkmode always on because black screen saves battery life.
When you have apps in the gallery that you don't use on any of the screens, is there a way to see which ones you're not actually not using? And I'm not referring to the unused apps function in Settings. I have a lot of apps in the gallery and I haven't used them for a long time. I want to delete them, but I can't go forward and back 100 times to see if each app in the gallery is in on a page yes or no. Do you have a quicker way?
@Brandonbutch- do you recommend the 11in iPad Pro for reading books and everyday carry or 13in iPad Pro? I’ll use it for more than just that but will not use it to replace my MacBook Pro 16in.
Crazy how consistent you’ve been 🙏🏽 thank you!
When could Mac Book Pros with M4 processors be released!? Do you have an idea? Nice Greats from a Fan and Follower Bro. 👊🏻 ❤
I discovered you can scan straight from the camera app now!
I tried to activate the Swipe Finger to Corner option but tapping the on/off button fails to activate. Am I missing something ? Thanks
Honestly Brandon, this is one of the very best and helpful “tip” TH-cam videos I’ve come across. Great job!
Brandon Butchinson knocks it out of the park with these things to do
Hi Brandon. I still have an iPhone 11 Pro. Do you think I should upgrade to the 16 this year?
Well I know that you would have a massively improved camera if you did that.
The volume up and the volume down button what is called the dynamic button which changes depending on portrait or landscape position has not always been like that on the iPad Pro. I have one iPad Pro 12.9 that doesn’t do this the 2021 edition but the new one has it and I’ve got no idea why they’ve done it it’s so bloody annoying, why not leave it? Was it necessary?
Is there any way to disable this annoying black bar in the middle of the screen that, when swiped left and right, changes the current app you are in?
I’m new to using the iPad Pro and the new Pencil Pro. I was wondering what app are you using to do the “straighten text” and “add signature”. I was trying different things and neither of those options were available.
For the barrel roll, he used Freeform. For the straighten text and add signature, he used the markup feature in the Notes app
Or I think Procreate and Notes
For adding a signature; open the Notes app, click on the paper and pencil icon in the upper right corner, then either tap on the blank page with the Apple Pencil or squeeze the Apple pencil close to to tip area but not on the tip. A palette will pop up. Tap the plus symbol, and Add Signature should be available.
Any update on why squeeze function don’t work for most ppl??
you CAN change the volume button orientation, i have it to static mode its in settings
The ability to switch between fixed and dynamic volume controls is in the sounds settings menu.
it's not. you can't change it on the Pro or Air
@@BrandonButch Hmm, reduced functionality. I have it on my 2nd gen 12.9" Pro
When you use the squeeze the pencil and the menu comes up, instead of clicking to choose one of the drawing tools you can double tap instead. So you can switch tools without even touching the screen.
Got the M4 iPad Pro 13”
You could actually turn of dynamic volume button thing
Still missing the calculator app or floating ones
What app are you doing art with the apple pencil in?
Where did you get your purple wallpaper? Any suggestions on good wallpaper apps. Thanks.
I wanted to ask him the same, where did he get that wallpaper from!
This vid was worth watching for the calculator tip which had completely eluded me.
And if you’re doing multiplication just use the X key 🙃
Where’s to find this wallpaper you used?
Thanx a Ton Brandon with the D lol Got a ton out of this video 17 tips in Fact
I have iPad Pro 2018! Is it worth the upgrade ?
Depends on how you use your ipad. As an artist who uses ipads heavily for drawing/illustrating I think it's worth the upgrade from my 2019. Mainly due to the upgrades to the pencil pro and new functionality (hover cursor)
is there an AOD on Ipad Pro ?
Everything you do is due to the expertise of Apple 😮
✒Another tip with the Stylus:
After summoning the menu by squeezing, hold the Undo or Redo button to get a quick Undo-Redo dial timeline, try it out and you'll see what I mean.
How you make transparent the Home Screen you showed
Is the avi decode engine automatically turned on?
Why doesn’t it let me turn on left and right corner swipe when stage manager is on?
Hi I have the iPad Pro 12.9 32gig had it some time now, I mainly use it for watching videos and media. Would I find this a much better device or not. Looking at the 10inch
First thing to do would be to download a calculator 🤭
Why? It’s built in to spotlight
Why not just make a calculator app. I just don’t understand why they’re so reluctant??
@@harshavreddy apparently it’s coming in iPadOS 18
@brandon Butch which app were you using to demonstrate the Apple Pencil functions on?
Yes, I’d like to know as well.
Likely will upgrade eventually for the OLED but...man there's just no software improvements to pull the trigger.
You don't need to upgrade for software improvements. You get those every single year without upgrading devices.
Love the video!. Can you do one for the m2 iPad Air please. Thank you!
Coming in the next 1-2 days!
Are you sticking with the nano-texture version?
Too early to tell yet but I'm leaning towards yes
So this is all of what the MacBook Air with a touch screen should have always been!
Does anyone know how to shuffle between open apps that are pushed in that sidebar with the slider that lets you collapse them? I can see that I have two open in the split screen and two open that are recessed back into the side - but I cannot go from one to the other, like you do in the video at 6:35
I’m on my m1 iPad trying to thess tips
A good case with the Logitech Mx keyboard and Anywhere mouse with a mousepad is better than the Magic Keyboard.
the Apple Pencil is gen 1 right?
Has anyone with iOS 17.5 had an issue where your iCloud Keychain won’t display your password for instagram and or Facebook when you go to log in? I’ve tried multiple solutions and it still pops up,I even erased my phone to try to get that to fix it but it didn’t. Is this software related or something meta related?
Is there any reliable iOS app to limit charging at 80%? TIA
You don't need an app to do that. Just go to Settings>Battery>Battery Health>80% Limit
Can u notice the tandem oled in TH-cam videos?
Yes, definitely. I will be sharing more about that in my review
I hope the iPad m4 pro can run cool math games my iPad now doesn’t run it and I’m so sad and question is the new Magic Keyboard exactly like the MacBook keyboard just very curious
I have been debating on getting an iPad since I have a MacBook.
My M4 iPad Pro 11 is supposed to arrive tomorrow. The first thing I will probably do after setting up the iPad is check for an update and restore my iCloud backup.
nice! Well I hope to see you come back tomorrow to watch this video :)
I will be here tomorrow for it. Depending on what time it releases, it might have to wait until I am off from work.
@@michaelhall9146he was talking about this video you commented on. You might need to come back to it to make your iPad more useful with the tips he gave in.
I got it a day ago dude you’re gonna love it I had 11 pro m2 and m4 is so much better
Or put apps that are not used that much in a folder. Also group similar apps in a folder.
Cmd C for control center
how is your TH-cam empty and how can I do it too?
80% charging limit DOES NOT work on my M4 13 inch iPad Pro. I tried it yesterday, I checked it was activated, set it to charge (from about 40%), it went all the way to 100%.
I haven't changed the setting on mine, but it does say that it will charge to 100% some of the time in order to keep the percentage accurate. Maybe leave it on 80% for a few charge cycles and see if it works. Or you could Message Apple and see what they say.
Not sure anyone noted this correction, but you can turn off Dynamic Volume. Settings > Sounds > Fixed Position Volume Controls
