slurs are words, they have only exactly as much power over you as you allow them to... dont be paralized by words so that hearing them uttered you have to shut down, block cencor conversation, theres a middle ground

All religious organizations should be required to pay: federal, state, County and property taxes. They should be required to do bookkeeping.

When I was going to church with my brother and his family, the good preacher gave that gem of a serman regarding "spare the rod, spoil the child". Welp, we got home and Robert got a good one. He didn't do anything particularly wrong, but he sure got a good whipping. I was starting to have serious doubts around that period of my life, that object lesson did nothing to firm up my faith. Around that time was when I read the Bible cover-to-cover the first of three times. I became an absolute doubter within a couple of years after that little incident.
