Gents you have been such a bright part of my life this past year, in really difficult times. Thank you all for the podcasts you put out, they are always very interesting and thoughtful.
Thank you so much for the kind words. You have no idea how much just comments like these boost us-it makes our year as well! We are honored to be a part of your day, and even more so to be a bright part of an otherwise dark day. Couldn’t do it without your support! 💙💚❤️
33:51 I think I would equate the pose situation like Wallace from Emerald. He had a feminine pose but he was still a "he". I agree on Dusty's take regarding the pose 😆 Overall great video as always, boys. Very thought provoking!
It is incredibly likely that the original designs of the evolved elemental monkeys at 33:00 are based off of deadly sins. Simisage is wrath (Angered expression), Simisear is gluttony, and Simipour is pride (as Dusty suggested). BTW great video!
I find it both endearing and hilarious that the placeholders for some of these like Cryogonal, Palpitoad, and the Swords of Justice were clearly done quickly with a pencil tool like they were using ms paint.
Hear this theory: We were close to getting a dragon based on a turkey, or at least it looks like a turkey to me, and that's why I have thought that a little peige creature with a spot on its nose or peak could be its pre-evolution because it resembles a chick with two native American feathers on its head.
1:49:03 I literally thought the same as Lumi in thinking its head looked like a boxing glove haha, also it kinda looks like a dog to me. Its very cute.
I assume Lickilicky's beta was scrapped because it started to deviate too much from the yokai it was based off of. Personally I prefer the Lickilicky from the gold and silver beta.
I've never liked the polar bears. There's two plain, they should have given second evolution like ice pants or something stupid. It's just too plain being a polar bear with a beard
Appreciate you, Dusty! There are plenty of reductive gender cues on Pokémon like eyelashes, lipstick, breasts on a lizard... It feels unhelpful to assign hand gestures, purple, slender design as immediately feminine traits. And it seems angry eyes mean it's masculine? I enjoy a passionate debate, but all the yelling in this one made me so uncomfortable. Seems like the aim of the episode got kinda forgotten in places. Became less explaining/analysing designs and more stubbornly saying yes or no.
Will you ever talk about the art styles and character designs in the past games? I know Lumi said the SV characters look like dolls, but it would be fun to compare, knowing that the fans are right about the unneeded visual changes.
I think dusty has a better wide audience view then lumi and soul prime example the elemental monkeys I agree the personality makes them better. And why did we have to sexualize pokemon yet again that's the only thing In all ur podcast that makes it awkward from my prospective just my personal opinion. I love the podcast just my constructive feedback from my personal perspective.
Why do you guys insist on being so kid-friendly? I get wanting to maintain consistency with Pokémon’s kid friendly image but it just comes off very inauthentic not wanting to delve into the more mature themes. For example, you guys have had guests that have a great balance of being appropriate while speaking about more "adult" topics. Lockstin is the first that comes to mind, but even bird keeper Toby doesn’t pretend to be rated E for everyone. I truly believe your podcast would be even bigger and better if you appealed to your grown audience. It fills a void in the Pokemon podcast space. Pokemon itself inserts dark and adult themes for the audience(which includes a lot of adults), I think you guys should not clutch your pearls at these things. It’d be even more entertaining to watch you guys than you already are and like I said, no one else is really doing it. We’re all adults and I think little to no people will get offended. In fact you only stand to gain from it. People in your livestream chats curse all the time and talk about things you guys refuse to touch on. And I’m not even talking about anything crazy like the weird sexual memes people post. I first realized on the dr. Lava episode you can sometimes come off as uptight. Just let loose, be yourselves and more people will watc. Love your guys podcast, just wanna see you guys succeed more.
I would guess that it would probably have to do with TH-cam monetization, but I could be wrong. I also don’t think it’s an inherently bad thing , and they do delve more into those topics a bit on Patreon and on live streams. That being said, it is one of the things I like most about creators like Lockstin, so I’m certainly open to them moving in that direction more if they decide to. Either way, love the podcast!
Personally I don't mind how they do things; I myself live a pretty E rated life lol. But it's pretty rare for younger people to watch podcasts 😅...usually 18+ so it wouldn't hurt to be a bit less E rated.

1:47 Lumious Post just casually hitting one of the nastiest reads i've heard out of nowhere got me crying man
It is incredibly likely that the original designs of the evolved elemental monkeys at 33:00 are based off of deadly sins. Simisage is wrath (Angered expression), Simisear is gluttony, and Simipour is pride (as Dusty suggested).
BTW great video!
how are you guys pumping so much content out lately lol
Paid channel members, patreon, superchats
"No!, we are not sick Dusty, you type Goodra in google images, you'll see how's sick" -Lumi 🤣🤣
I find it both endearing and hilarious that the placeholders for some of these like Cryogonal, Palpitoad, and the Swords of Justice were clearly done quickly with a pencil tool like they were using ms paint.
I think the point of rotom wash was that it was supposed to resemble all those things, sinks washing machines, and toilets
20:01 bro says "typical Lumi response" like he doesn't glaze up every beta Mon in return lol

It's a shame we didn't get to see a front sprite of beta chunky Gastrodon
I think the Galactic admins look better, BUT their final overtly sci-fi designs are a better fit for their team's theme
The level of anger lumi gets to anytime someone disagrees with him is wiiiiild 😶
Dusty saying skibidi is the best thing about this video 😂
It is the absolute worse thing he could’ve ever said. Now I respect Lumi the most
@mikeygiuseppe2693 what makes it funny is that it's cringe but he doesn't understand what it means so it's kinda wholesome 🤣
Those are purrloin's eye lids in the beta design look at the current one
1:33:25 Reshiram looks like a beaver
I think Beta Lickilicky is the one beta that I like better than the one we got. And even then I’m just “eh” on Lickilicky
That Porygon beta evolution is called Porygon-C as in Porygon (cursed) the true first normal/ghost type. jk It looks so cursed 😂
That would've been sick
Hoops and hip Hop said grass and dragon evolution druddgon
The snivy line looks weird they look mint flavored
That as a foundation could fit very well for some kind of alternate Legends-game form for Serperior a la the Hisuian forms. It's a nice color scheme.
That cryogonal looks like it would be on adult swim
Kyurem looks a lot like Primordial Malzeno
aren't some of those Gen 5 Pokémon just their shiny not their original beta colours (e.g. liepard, snivy line, Tepig Line)?
Beta Gothitelle on that zaza 😂
All 3 are so much better. 1:08:15
I assume Lickilicky's beta was scrapped because it started to deviate too much from the yokai it was based off of. Personally I prefer the Lickilicky from the gold and silver beta.
UHMAZIN
34:15 Liepard especially looks really weird. The colors are cool, the shape is not.
Bro do NOT as Riolu what he was doing in 1946
How dare you disrespect lickilicky he is the best. His whole personality is that’s he’s big fat and gumpy. Leave him Brittany alone.
You know I never looked at it that way but Dusty's right. The swords do look weird because they have human faces. I don't like that
Def always saw simmipour as more feminine looking. dusty is trippin
Currently Simmipour looks like a little reggae man way more than a girl with long hair
I've never liked the polar bears. There's two plain, they should have given second evolution like ice pants or something stupid. It's just too plain being a polar bear with a beard

Chonky staraptor
What toilet has a plug
Japanese toilets 😆
Whole episodes like this make me worry about how unbased his commentary is.

Dusty is so right about Liepard

Yea I hate it when there’s someone being kid friendly to appeal to the kids it’s soooooo bad I hate it so much
3:35 lumi be better and don’t make those jokes. It’s not funny it’s just obnoxious. You’re better than that.
Lol what was so bad about him saying that? The uncle that isn’t allowed at family reunions? What’s the problem?
@@CesarR1037 The implications of that. Especially since it's not even a humanoid mon. Lol
@@digitaltailsmon4096 I still don’t understand how that’s even remotely offensive. But okay dude, sorry you feel that way.
@@CesarR1037 At this point IDEK lol Im sorry 😥
HAHA YESSS!! THE FURRY DISS!! Thankgod you guys aren’t scared to call out the only bad part of the Pokémon community
Here lol
