Sorry if this video dragged on a little. I've been very busy this week and so didn't have time to write a script (in fact I was forced to edit the entirety of this video today), and as you can tell I'm not the best at talking spontaneously. Hope you enjoyed anyways. What do you think about Mirrorwatch?
I think it's really cool seeing all the heroes with different abilities. My personal favourite is Doomfist. Normally I don't play him, like at all, but in this event, I really liked the shield they gave him and the overheal stuff. It made him feel like an actual tank rather than just a DPS made slightly tougher and bigger.
I would love for this version of Doomfist to be the main game version of him. But it does feel a bit out of character for the canon Doomfist to be this supportive. Given his character is conflict-causing, maybe he disrupts the enemy team with debuffs rather than overhealing teammates? I still think the shield could work though.
I came here just to rag on the weird tier list thumbnail since I thought it was based on effectiveness but it's nice to see a tier list just based on fun instead fo effectiveness. I feel like fun is an element that is generally lost in the OW community as everyone is talking about meta heroes and trying to get to master rank.
Yeah I often feel the same way. In fairness I used to also care a lot about what was good and grinding ranked and whatnot but I’ve come to realise that I more so enjoy just playing games for the fun of them. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to win, I still seek victory, but it doesn’t have to be the most important thing in the world. Something I realised even more when I started playing League of Legends is that a lot of people are so focused on winning that they avoid playing the game as soon as they start to lose. But at the same time, the most rewarding part of league isn’t the games you dominate, it’s the ones that are really close and when you are able to succeed despite some difficulty. At the same time, I don’t really play ranked in games anymore, because I would rather play something I enjoy rather than Orisa 😐
@@BPViking Yeah. You can have fun even when you don't win. One time there was a push map (I forgot the name, it's the one in the white city) where both teams had really good cohesion and team work. The enemy team got together, used all their ults and wiped us out. Then we rallied and killed all of them too. This kept going until the other team won. Everyone said GG afterwards and complimented their teammates. Really good vibes all around.
It’s the same idea but I don’t recall his shotgun in April fools being nearly as good as it is here. Probably because it was on a cooldown, but i didn’t play him much because the gutted assault mode damage really turned me away
@@justind3810yep, I was like 5 bullets that just went in a vertical line, they are both completely different. I assume the first guy didn’t play the April fools mode Bash.
The one bad thing about mirrorwatch is that when its gone we are going to lose cool bastion :(, if they ever bring back the char through some alt playstyle or a new character altogether i'd become a bastion main tbh, other than that i quite liked the event, cool concept, cool execution and hopefully it returns later with more characters, i'd like to see stuff like evil lucio which instead of boosting speed he instead boosted damage and his alt fire was a ball that sucked in enemies or smt of the sort, cool vid also.
Mercy changes are nuts. The soul burn does so much damage it also just catches so many people off guard. Her ult lasts forever, if she pops that shit it’s basically guaranteed to kill at least 2 people if not just team wiping on its own
So, for the bastion ult, I really like the angle of summoning in AI allies to help with the fight. And seeing as how I desperately want blizzard to keep the idea of bringing in PVE enemies to assist you (seeing as how we’ll never never see them otherwise), I suggest changing the summoned enemies to something less annoying to face, like nulltroopers or jumpjets (or if you want to go big maybe a stalker), and then up the number of allies you can summon to make it feel more impactful (unless you make him summon a stalker. We don’t need 5 of them running around at once.)
I think the Slicers are fine, the main issue I have with them is them counting as official teammates. You shouldnt be able to stall in overtime from the spawn room just by using your ult, lost a match cause of that, it gave their Rein enough time to get back to cart and hit a triple kill shatter
Ana has a much lower cooldown on the nade because of these changes, if you noticed the cooldown is like 7 or so seconds instead of the usual 12. I feel like i'm encouraged to take duels much more and because of the hanzo lunge that's now on ana as well, i tend to forget that i am a support and my healing numbers suffer as a result lmao, but it feels fun.
Yeah I agree I didn’t have time to play Zarya much and and the few times I did get her ult I couldn’t get it to work. I tried to cut the enemy off but failed. It does definitely have its uses and is pretty cool but overall seems less useful than her normal grav. Zarya’s C tier placement mainly came down to her other changes however
As a bastion main, you have no idea how much fun I've had with bastion, while I do love his turret, somehow the shotgun and velocity increase make him more mobile, and his ult there is easily better than artillery
Tracer is good in the normal game right now and since her changes are just straight buffs she is naturally very good in this mode. Also yes Mercy is pretty OP. However, this list was based on wether or not I felt the changes were fun and creative, not wether they made the character strong, so that’s why Tracer is in F
Yeah I mean obviously some of these changes are pretty ridiculous and would never make the normal game, but some others like the bastion and Doom ones feel like they could somehow be put into the actual heroes in the future, although in slightly modified versions
i honestly think bastion is the worst hero change, i find him not fun at all to play and think the recon mode makes flanking way worse, im glad that it's an ability exclusive to widowmaker in normal ow
I don’t know about that. I’d say her sticky bombs are definitely an overall nerf and the ult is questionable but the beam and flight got buffed so I’d say she feels pretty good
Yeah I’m good. I don’t think my voice was particularly shaky in this video but maybe that’s just me. I mean I didn’t have a script for the video because I was in a bit of a rush, meaning I just had to talk off the top of my head (with some minor notes), which I’m not really used to. That meant that I was less concise with my points with more “uh”s for example but I wouldn’t say I sounded nervous. Although I will admit that the audio could definitely be better
I don’t know if I would say that, although it is true that the main purpose of the mode is definitely not to be perfectly balanced. Some heroes are absolutely better than others but I think that the mode is impacted more by the matchmaking which feels a little weird Edit: bad hero balance and games being a stomp fest aren’t necessarily the same thing
@@BPViking I think you're 100% right it feels like there's something wrong with the matchmaking. I've heard of "connection" based matchmaking which means the skill doesn't matter it goes on how quickly it can get people into lobbies. Destiny has this because very few people play PvP in that game. That's what it feels like.

It probably isn’t quite right in its current form but I agree that they should find some way to make Doom more supportive for the rest of his team
@@BPViking Yeah. He isn't terrible but he doesn't feel like a tank.
Rein's hammer does stack attack speed whenever you hit someone, but it can only stack up to 3 before it caps out.

Nobody is talking about his primary fire shotgun is the same as it was in the April fools
Is it the same? I remember him also having a shotgun then but I wasn’t able to play the April fools thing much so I didn’t realise
It isn't
It’s the same idea but I don’t recall his shotgun in April fools being nearly as good as it is here. Probably because it was on a cooldown, but i didn’t play him much because the gutted assault mode damage really turned me away
The april fools one was a single vertical line
And in mirrorwatch it's more like dva's primary fire

I would also love it if they brought this back with even more heroes
I'm from the near future. They're releasing a new omnic that'll play sorta similar to this Bast (shotgun, summons other bots)
Mercy changes are nuts. The soul burn does so much damage it also just catches so many people off guard. Her ult lasts forever, if she pops that shit it’s basically guaranteed to kill at least 2 people if not just team wiping on its own
Yeah I can’t tell you how many times I’ve just randomly died to the soul burn and the ult lasts so long

I had several mental breakdowns when playing this gamemode, at least i have a mythic genji skin
Hey, at least that mythic genji skin is nice
i looked at the zarya gameplay and you were not using the ult right, so i understand you dont think its useful
Yeah I agree I didn’t have time to play Zarya much and and the few times I did get her ult I couldn’t get it to work. I tried to cut the enemy off but failed. It does definitely have its uses and is pretty cool but overall seems less useful than her normal grav. Zarya’s C tier placement mainly came down to her other changes however
Thank your lucky stars that Mercy decided to be a hero.
True. Imagine if this Mercy was the one in normal games
As a bastion main, you have no idea how much fun I've had with bastion, while I do love his turret, somehow the shotgun and velocity increase make him more mobile, and his ult there is easily better than artillery
The Ana change to biotic grenade feels weird and random because imo it is 100% something they want to try out for a potential main game change
That’s kind of what I was thinking as well
Tracer is actually busted, she's not F at all... She's S but let's be real, Mercy is in a tier of her own!
Tracer is good in the normal game right now and since her changes are just straight buffs she is naturally very good in this mode. Also yes Mercy is pretty OP. However, this list was based on wether or not I felt the changes were fun and creative, not wether they made the character strong, so that’s why Tracer is in F
Can't get over Brig FINALLY getting a battlepass skin and it's amazing
Anti nade has a lot faster cooldown which combined with lunge and self nano makes her much more survivable
I didn’t realise the cooldown was shorter, that kind of makes sense
Doom and Sombra need to stay. People keep calling her a support but she's still a DPS she's just toned down for balance. Doom is flat out broken
Wonder if this LTM is just a chance to wide test changes they are thinking about making
Yeah I mean obviously some of these changes are pretty ridiculous and would never make the normal game, but some others like the bastion and Doom ones feel like they could somehow be put into the actual heroes in the future, although in slightly modified versions

Fair enough
The widow maker changes would make lobbies against widows above diamond somehow even more miserable.
Mirrorwatch echo feels like a straight up nerf
I don’t know about that. I’d say her sticky bombs are definitely an overall nerf and the ult is questionable but the beam and flight got buffed so I’d say she feels pretty good
I was expecting a tier list on how powerfull each hero is. Was dissappointed that this is opinion only instead
let bro cook
Mercy is ss tier if you play her right
bro are you good? your voice is shaky as hell and you sound nervous, hope all is well dude

@@BPViking nah it’s all good, just making sure ur doing well
I appreciate the concern 🙂
Could've mentioned this isn't a meta tier list in the title.
Fair
I don't know if I've ever seen a mode as unbalanced as Mirrorwatch. Every game is a stomp fest
I don’t know if I would say that, although it is true that the main purpose of the mode is definitely not to be perfectly balanced. Some heroes are absolutely better than others but I think that the mode is impacted more by the matchmaking which feels a little weird
