Tbh I genuinely hope it’s made for kids who are making music - like basically stopping that aspect being so scary. Idk I think it’s more legit then anything unison audio has done and the guy has a lot more credibility then other people. It’s not for me but I appreciate it. I know a couple of kids learning how to make music and I think giving them this vs ozone is gonna be way more beneficial imo
This plugin reminded me of the atrocity that was the Emoji movie. They were definitely inspired by Unison visually. Off topic but what are your thoughts on MIDI Drum loops.
Midi drum loops can be used creatively, and uncreatively as well. Just slapping it on and calling it a day can be pretty lazy. If you are putting it down to get you in the right direction quicker with some editing I don't see an issue.
true that, can also be a good form for learning nuances like the "dilla feel" (not swung nore straight jus dilla) how to recreate such grooves@@Weaverbeats
9:45 on changing names, for my plugin, i did try a bit to pick different names, but that’s because it’s a retro effect and decades ago some concepts didn’t have a standard name, so it makes it feel a bit more old imo. it also uses a graphic eq rather than parametric for that reason as well, they were more common in the past compared to now, although it’s a more modern way of doing it. but for lolcomp it doesn’t really have as good of a reason to do that. and mash instead of limit is too different and unspecific to be a reasonable name for it. mash could be an ok name for some distortion algo, but doesn’t really make sense for limiting.
9:49 and oxidate made me think of tape, since iron oxide was used for at least some tape formulations, with other oxides for others. maybe could also mean something related to transformers since ferrite cores are made from iron oxide. using it for reverb feels really forced.
It’s funny companies like Apple will take a feature and Collett pro motion or a dynamic island even though there’s general terms for those types of things, and that’s what deceptive plug-in makers do, they’ll take basic things and give them wild names to sound appealing. Sadly, there is a community of producers who are grown that fall for this kind of stuff. I think if you’re going to sell a piece of software that it hast to have at the very least and easily accessible manual describing the technical terms for each feature. Or some kind of seal of approval process where if you have this sticker on your plug-in that means it’s trustworthy or has a certain level of design/quality that’s pro consumer.
Often people will use parallel processing to mix in a dry version of the signal or in this case a less processed version of the signal in order to still retain the original sound, punch, transients or whatever.
If this was free, one could argue, if it was good for beginners: "Yeah, you don't learn anything, but you'll have ... a result." ... like Garageband or whatever. But selling this for 150 ... if you pay 150 for any plugin, you are a pro and you know what you are doing or you are rich enough to send Weaver some random money just for the fun lol.
I’m so glad I’m free from plugin chasing. I don’t buy them anymore, I don’t care about any of them. Hardware is king, guys. that way no shit company can take your license, make you pay a subscription, crash your DAW, make you pay for upgrades etc. I have about ten plugins I use to fill the gaps and beyond that, I use the default plugins that come with the DAW. I’M FREE. I don’t have to chase the newest shiny bit of software every other week!
@@PurpleMusicProductions fr. Next time anyone reads this comment thinking that the next plugin will change their sound, make them a better producer or unlock a magic door, it won’t and don’t buy it. You need about ten or 11 plugins max and about eight crucial bits of hardware and that’s it. Stop plug-in chasing.
@@EVILJAMARR brother you are soooo spot on about that until it isn't even funny. My sales engineer at Sweetwater schooled me on that game about 3 years ago so thankfully he caught me early before I spent too much money on plugins. As he said and what I have discovered the "pro mixers, engineers and producers" receive massive sponsorships from the plugin companies to say whatever necessary as they are selling you a dream and playing on our aspirations. No matter who it is we admire they are all for sale just at different price points. To test it, next time you hear one of them rattling off, then politely ask them to send/sell you their hardware and watch how fast the backpedal like the tour de France going downhill. Like you I got out of chasing plugins aside from the few that I have. It's like you and I are part of the resistance movement because trying to educate others and overcoming mass marketing is harder than finding hen's teeth.
It's nice when the tech guys and marketing people get drunk on fridays. They come up with interesting reads. FR, I like reading these! It doesn't seem out of character if you have Freakshw Industries plugins. The price to perfromance ratio though.
Their GreenHass is awesome and the guy behind the company is legit af. I’m not buying this plugin, but I think they’re pretty cool. Ain’t no Unison Audio.
these vsts that dont actually tell you what the knob does and gives them a dumb name like LMAO pisses me off. like just tell me what this damn knob controls ffs
Ken Lewis makes some awesome fun plugins! I think you are taking this too serious but I will say that price tag is too steep for what the plugin does but it still does looks like a great plugin
I mean as far as the UI lol I love the green haas plugin and use it all the time but it was also a lot cheaper I wont be buying lol comp unless theres a Serious price drop@@Weaverbeats
I'm in the wrong video to be offering this opinion, but having been a fan of Ken Lewis and GreenHAAS (their prior plugin), I find this thing a pretty cool vibe box. I like what it does with rap vocals. Mostly I use the LOL on vocals, Kangaroo on kick or drums, panda on bass. I think this opinion is a little harsh, but I respect Weaver so despite the difference of opinion no shade from me. Just sad this plug isn't getting the respect it deserves, though having said that the developer is unapologetic for how it looks and this response is definitely something they've earned... Oh well...
Don’t get fooled by his accolades, he might be a great mixing engineer but this plug in ain’t it and it’s definitely nothing he or any other professional mixer would use in a serious job. Any DAW offers way better tools with a lot more control. The only impressive thing about this plug-in is the beyond atrocious user interface and the ridiculous price tag.
lmao. 150 bucks. ?!?1 who the f is their demographic?? what kid can afford that. if they wanted to sell, it shoudl be 15$. 150$ gets you the top compressors out.
looks goofy and funny, gotta repesct it for that alone. 150 bucks is just way too much for something that seems like a joke taken a bit too seriously when something like this is worth 5, maybe 10 at most.
I feel like it’s someone who is outta touch with the younger producer community trying to cashgrab at their ignorance. Board room meeting: “let’s make these dumb young producers beg their mommy for $150. Kids like emoji right?” Little do they know how intensely nerdy these producers are now days. Too smart for that shit
MPC free DAW has way better stuff and its free, zero drachmas, so you don’t even have to pay for DAW and you get yourself a good interface or a respectable headset for 150$. I swear to God these companies infuriate me, trying to cashgrab from people who are starting up mostly and just love music, they exploit people with these crap plugins.
99% of lolcomp demo users quit before achieving analog warmth 😮
The fact that this comes from a legit mixer is even more LMAO
this should actually be illegal.
It is in all 60 stattes
The mans loves dragon chain.
Why would anyone buy this plugin? Favorite quote: "This plugin looks like a slot machine."
Rick Rubin actually used this on every record he ever made, fun fact! :D Wow!
checks out

weave my boi the pops and clicks in the vid had me checking my whole set up for issues lol @6:34
Can someone please explain the compression with parallel limiting that he used there at 7:33 ? What does it do exactly and how to achieve it

@@Weaverbeats Thank you bro appreciate it !
Timmy's first compressor
I'm gonna make a plugin called "cringe" which plays a loud cringing sound at random intervals to taunt you. It will cost 300 euro. :/
Smart Comp 2 literally does not work though. It compresses unchanging samples differently each time it hits.
I somehow feel responsible for this
nani is cool ❣

Just the look of it is enough for me to turn a blind eye to.
Thank you:)!... BTW What is your go to soft synth:)?....
This plugin was coded by Gary Grutzek who made bx_townhouse, SPL Iron and Black Box HG2 with Brainworx
He must’ve been in acid for this one then
The developers realize the audience/consumer base for production plugins has become extremely young, and easy to scam with colorful GUI 😂
Is it just me or are plugins starting to give off some serious NFT vibes?
As a super elite sayan warrior... I meant music producer... my pride wont let me pull this or Nani in front of any other human being.
Currently training for the 50x analog warmth chamber
noo not ken lewis lol. his sampling tutorial/course was really helpful to me back in the day
Haven’t tried this one… but Ken Lewis is a legit mixer, def not a unison type thing.

They need to make a compressor with a slightly overweight fem-boy fox UI.
Or maybe something with scantily clad kobolds.
Do an Indiana jhones themed plugin bundle..😂
We love the daisy chain....
Pro tools doesnt loook right w out UAD plugins

It sounds dope on vocals. Don't we have enough boring GUI in the plugin world?
