There’s a continuity issue in this episode. At 4:50 the Marquis mentions it’s the 200th anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille, so this episode must be set on Bastille Day 1989. However at 15:01 Peter mentions he’s been married for two years- but he and Emma married on the show in 1984.
@@flumpaustin1994 most sitcoms have these errors. many dont notice till its pointed out to them, its no big deal if the show is funny and the errors dont interfere too much with the plot
I love the chemistry of Anton Rodger’s & Julia Mc Kenzie. But prefer fresh fields the 1st series. But in reality you would never be able to live with these characters all coming and going from your home when they chose.
The neighbours are extremely annoying. The writers made a big mistake making up such annoying completely over the top arrogant and rude characters. It was enough for me to stop watching the show when it was on tv. The cleaning lady also completely over the top annoying, but at least there are a few laughs to be had with her.
Whoever decided the charwoman - as played like that - was a needed addition to the cast has a comedic tin ear. The show also gains with the subtraction of Sonya. The only character that is missing is the MIL. She - and the memory of her n'er-do-well husband - was genuinely adding to the show The writers should have found a similar addition to the cast on the French side.
Evangeline Saberhagen FYI. I never watched Friends, Modern Family, the Simpsons (two episodes were enough), and the rest of the garbage. I was talking about this particular EPISODE of French Fields. Not the rest. Comprende le vú?
+ElCid48 I comprehend you are being a bit rude. And the show is a typical slow based BritCom. Pleasant, not lame. Lame is anything PC and childish ( anything on NBC) .
I don't understand how this show lasted 3 seasons. It's just repetitious and expectant. They "pull" the same tired gags over and over, quite silly really, not funny.
Deeply irritating series for an expatriate businessman in Paris. All the white, middle-class, anglocentric hegemonic clichés suffuse every last second of this series. And, deeply embarrassing and real, too, is the British incompetence when it comes to even attempting a basic negotiation in French. The cleaning lady is, of course, English - and her appallingly muttered - and barely comprehensible - French (with an English accent) just adds insult to injury.
The actress playing the cleaning lady actually spoke fluent French in real life. The joke in the series is that not even the marquis can understand her!
These two actors truly act married and happy together. Love this!
mark colpstein from east finchley we'll watching french field it is nice to watch old comendy series on itv in the past on you tube
Thanks Dave Smith, my family loves this show
still waiting for sonia to cooooooeeeeee through the fields door

That happened to me once.A woman with the same dress as mine was in a nightclub.Luckly she didnt see me and i looked than her lol.
That Emma was clearly from the ‘bargain bin.’
🤣🤣
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, yuppies are difficult to write for if, you want them to be funny, but not annoying.
"Ah, Madame, c'est un grand honneur to be treated comme ça by vous!"
can you please put oh doctor beaching on
Sorry, it must be me being American, but if someone, my husband especially said, "don't be stupid!" The conversation wouldn't end well!!
Yes, it's you.
Angelina, don’t be stupid.
What did Jill say as joke in beginning

Yes cleaning lady hopelessly over the top and Hester's attempt at French is very silly and very wearing.
Oh how I long to hear, "It's only Sonia!".
@@ginnylorenz5265 "Je suis Sonia!"

Boat people….Boat people?!!!😂
In time if Brexit it wd be impossible to settle abroad
Can someone tell me if the French in this show is real or made up?
Robert Cain 😆you are kidding? It would be far harder to make up French that just speak it.
The French is actually real in this show, apart from the parts that Hester and others make up.
It’s a comedy lol

Pretty lame episode.
+ElCid48 it is a cute show, lame is Friends or Modern Family

Evangeline S.
It's still lame. Yeah, Pleasant like a pineapple in the underpants.
BTW, I don't watch the networks like NBC.
Watched and generally enjoyed all of Fresh Fields, but this is pretty weak stuff.

You didn't have to watch it

Most of the 'French cast' are English. Chantal, the mayor, madame remoleux , most of the stall holders when Hester goes shopping etc.
It’s a comedy series not a documentary!!!😂
