I was an PR Intern this year and worked for the Rams from 83-87. I actually was on the Rams sideline watching 😊There is a great pass from Montana to Clark I couldn't believe he made. Memories.
Thank you very much for this jewel, great memories watching these great players who made the 49ers a time of glory, thanks to them since 1981, I fell in love with this team.
One of the 2 best Niner-Ram games ever. The other being the Dec 1989, Niner at Ram game. Where John Taylor caught 2 plus 90 yd touchdowns. 30-27 Niners.
@Comrade Stalin Yeah, it was either the '86 or '87 season that some Forty Niner Faithful had complained about getting Bradshaw all the time. Must've been the telecasts for the two road games in NOL and ATL each year and maybe a couple more road games? I usually turned the volume off anyway and listened to Lon on the radio.
@Comrade Stalin I still owe him, because he did beat the hated Cowboys in two of the greatest Super Bowls ever. And as a former Forty Niner Faithful, I didn't mind that the '84 Niners one loss was to the Steelers.
@Comrade Stalin I should've said; I didn't mind that it was the Steelers, but I DID mind the officiating in that game... And yes, back when I was still watching the games, I was happy when the Steelers got past the Ravens, Indy and Pats in the early 2000's My Great Grandmother was Homestead Pa. born and raised. I don't think she ever traveled anymore than 100 miles away from there in her entire lifetime. Nice talking to you.
I watched this game live on base, and didn't realize this was a day or so after the Beirut bombing. Had Reagan backed up his big mouth, (which he should've done) my unit would've been mobilised. As it turned out, I was able to spend my liberty with my Canuck gal in B.C. the next weekend.
Love how after a sack or a tackle, guys just get up and go back to the line or sideline. No dancing around and taunting people like an ahole. Alot more professional imo.
The 49ers kickoff coverage was terrible for 3 1/2 quarters. Then in the 4th when they backed the Rams up a couple times, the momentum completely flipped.
Old time scalper here 8 dollar south end zone seats were selling for 25. Dollars each lines at box office were very long and slow finally sold out 40 mins prior to kickoff
49ers barely won the NFC West that year while the Rams went to Dallas to eliminate an already Self-Destruct Cowboys Team before being sent to slaughter in Washington.
The Earl Cooper fumble near the end of the second quarter was a fumble that stayed in bounds…. The referee on the scene was on crack …. Nolan Cromwell goes ballistic at the call….
Rams gave this one away. Ferragamo played great for 3-1/2 Q. He went totally brain dead with that pick. The 1989 game (MNF) was a tank job like this but it was worse. In that one Rams were up 27-17 1st&goal on the 49ers 1 yd. line about 9 mins. left in 4th.. The center snap never got off the ground it was called a fumble and 49ers got it. They hit 90 yd pass play (2nd one of the night) but miss XP. Ron Brown fumbles the kickoff. A few play later 49ers take it in . Rams offense goes 3 and out. Ball game 30-27. Later one of the 49ers admitted he spit on the ball causing the bad snap.
The 49ers lead all time 69-65-3. They've dominated since the early '90's excluding the Kurt Warmer era when Rams won 6 in a row. Since then Rams have not won more than 2 straight. Both teams had long stretches of domination over the series. Often the visiting team played better and won during the other time frames. Strangely, the Rams have never shutout the 49ers but the 49ers have blanked the Rams 9 times.
+bbigjohnson069 Rams secondary must have been the pits to allow 2 +90 traders! Eddie Haskell was another choker in the playoffs. During heyday of their great defences of the 70,s they could never get passed the Vikings or Cowboys in NFC championships. Never had steady quarterback 71-79. They went to Superbowl once with Vince Ferragamo, 79 and the worst record 9-7. Southern California teams always choke. It,s a curse. Oakland and St.Louis teams don,t count. San Diego Chokers were far worse, 79-82.
1:07:15 Imagine if a player did this to a protected group these days. This would have been the end to Dwight Clark's career and instead of being known for 'the catch' he would have been known for 'the spike'.

Translation "I jumped on the 49er bandwagon in 1981". You're welcome.
@@michaelarmenta8289Most of their fans jumped on the bandwagon in 81.Before that season that franchise was irrelevant#BandwagonEmpire
1983 was when I started watching football, so any games from this season is great. Thanks Richard.
first full season I watched too... 4th grade. I did watch a couple playoff games and a superbowl the season before

Richard......your upload game is STROOONNNNGGGG!
Excellent upload,I love when old L.A. Rams games get posted. This was a great game.
Los Angeles 1984 u lost thogh 45 to 35
Mike Barber was so good in 1983 that it was a pity he left the following year due to frictions with John Robinson
Carlton Williamson lays the brick on Dickerson right off the bat- wow
Had his best game as a Pro and against Dickerson.
Great upload Richard! Happy Holidays!
RIP Wayne Walker
Dave Kroeger
It was great to get Stockton/Walker, instead of Summeral/Madden. But the absolute worst! was any CBS analyst/with Bradshaw.

@@kidmack1121Forty Niner Faithful ??🤔No such thing.
#BandwagonEmpire
After the first half, Bill Walsh was beside himself 😂 it’s a good thing for the Niners that they didn’t have instant replay back then.
Bobby Leopold wearing #45? Didn't remember that one. He wore #52.
Great game thanks

Rams had some really good teams in the 80's.

80s Football. What made the NFL a Tv Behemoth for the next 40 years!
I still have the VHS tape of this game somewhere in the garage!
I wish you had 49ers vs Redskins 1981. A lot of people are looking for this game. I doubt it will ever see the light of day.🏈
@@survivor5044 I don't. My dad bought the VCR set in 83, hence we had a chance to record this game.

Eric Dickerson and Roger Craig in their rookie seasons respectfully...

coca- cola cups on sideline.....whoa, no gatorade.

Montana has a Gatorade cup after td throw to Clark.

That Freddie Solomon catch in the third qtr would be easily an incomplete pass by today's standards..
+Charley root That,s why today's football sucks. Owners, free agency, hideous U.S.F.L. uniforms, Monday Night on ABC eliminated. Greed! Goodbye.

George Farmer dance after Rams 1st Td, is called the Smurf

It was the '' same old Rams ''era. Rams couldn't buy a win.
Except they had beat the Niners in SF two weeks earlier
100%right
They played harder back then no comparison to now.
Now mediocre players asking for more money every season
The Earl Cooper fumble near the end of the second quarter was a fumble that stayed in bounds…. The referee on the scene was on crack …. Nolan Cromwell goes ballistic at the call….
Rams defence was the absolute pits in this game. The Niners did not even have Jerry Rice yet. Or would they for 2 yrs!
For some reason rams played well at candlestick except playoff game
Niners 13 and 2 in 15 anaheim stadium games
This had to be Ferragamos best career game here

Is the game with the world famous Roger Craig run?
I think that was from the 1989 season and a spectacular run it was. #33RogerCraig
The 1989 game (a Monday night game) was the John Taylor game. The Roger Craig run occurred in '88, I believe.
