    No way an actual tutorial that goes in-depth to explain how the effect works? Impossible I wish more people would learn from you, there is only a handful of people who make such wonderful guides for free, you are an absolute blessing to the community... Alright, enough of this sweetening or you'll get diabetes.

I used your old blog post about how to paint NMM when I started painting space marines and it was the most useful resource I found on the topic. This is great. I’d love to know though the steps going from ‘simplified’ nmm to whatever the non simplified version is. So how could we take this a step further? Different colour tones or light placements perhaps? Great stuff.

    • @merlinsmagicworkshop9192
      @merlinsmagicworkshop9192  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi and thanks for your comment! Yes going from simplified to realistic is not straight forward, many aspects to be thought, mostly related to the complexity of the reflections. Different tone variations, finer placement of light and shadows, and of course better representation of the environnent "inside" the reflections. I'll propably try to make a video series on that at some point

    I've one question, is there e reason you start painting the reflections with the midtone first and the darker colours later and not from dark to light?

    • @merlinsmagicworkshop9192
      @merlinsmagicworkshop9192  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot ! I guess it's just a personal preference. Though the advantage of blocking highlights with middle tone is that it creates immediately a good contrast with the base color, so it's a bit easier to check if there are issues with the placement of the light.

    • @marceld3086
