Just got mine today! 😊 My case smells like new shoes too. My swivel cables need exercise as they are a bbit sticky but they swivel. My only con is how easy it is to split the yarn with these hooks but i guess it just takes getting used to.

While I was able to track down an affordable wood option (especially one that I don't have to watch an instruction video about sandpaper...I don't like a lot of wood hooks), I really wanted metal. I do wish the cords worked better on the two biggest sizes. I do have issues with that in this set. I'm over here curious to see if she has the same problem. Still, I have the rest of the hooks and I'm happy for that. I also adore that you guys think a 3.5 mm is a small hook. 🤣 Love your channel. Your one of the ones if people see me out in the wild crocheting (or see my work) and ask for recommendations that I list.
Mama Toni is one of my favorite creators, but it's always fun to find smaller creators who are easier to relate to. More POC yarn creators is always a win
Ordered mine Aug. 3, 2024 and received them Aug. 13, 2024, so not bad on shipping time. I told Toni, and I'm telling you and everyone that looks on here, these hooks are amazing! I wish I could find the same hook head on regular crochet hooks, as opposed to the Tunisian. Since I haven't been able to find them, I ordered crochet hook grips to put on these and use them as I would a standard hook (without the cord of course). Just like Toni says "They feel like butta!!!"
I was on a wait list and Guys, lemme say, this is the one set....you know - the one that you reach for over and over. It is so smooth, such wonderful weight, the cords swivel....the set is cute. The case to hold them is a bit lacking but you can splurge on a case for them and not break the bank. Totally love this set and Ms. Toni is my crochet Goddess!
I will admit that I adore Toni , for many reasons. One being she reminds me of my Late beloved Mom , and she sounds like her in speech. I too, ordered my set the very day I watched her preview them , that was on Feb, 10-24. I am still waiting for them to arrive. I do hate the wait time and shipping delay , I understand they are shipped from overseas. But I cant wait , so in the mean Time I will also get me a lantern Moon Set.. I not only are collecting , but doing so as I have Osteo -Arthritis , that makes my hands ache if I use an uncomfortable hook or needle Of Any Kind. I do love the look of Tunisian Crochet and am teaching myself at my young age of 72, like I do many things I wish to Learn. .Loved your Video and excitement at getting your hooks. When I watched Toni’s video I hopped right over to Ali and it was already on preorder but it was totally worth the wait! After watching her other videos on Tunisian crochet hooks and trying another bamboo brand (which ruined my yarn) I decided to try these and now I’m obsessed with Tunisian crochet. I would loooove to try the Sewrella ones but they’re way out of my price range. Since I’ve had these I’ve only exclusively Tunisian crocheted! It’s interesting to see how we both got the same set, but our cord came in differently - yours came in one pouch but mine came in 4 different pouches all labeled with the length of each!
Luckily I ordered them while she was describing them so I got them very quickly. I love them. I’ve used them with both acrylic and natural fibers and they glide wonderfully.
I rarely crotchet Tunisian but was tempted after seeing Toni doing the review. Still on the fence as it’s better to have them than not and love the variety of sizes.

Hi ordered these after Toni showed them. Trued one out and liked the way they slide through the yarn. Head is too pointed tor me. Kept poking myself. 😂. Then tried another size and cord wouldn’t screw on the short cable. Bad threading on a couple. Have to get them all out and try different cables. That was disappointing.
I have interchangeable knitting needles, when i set up a pair on a new cable that has not been used before i Use the tightening tool to slowly attach the cable to the needles. It's just a case of patience and gently making the 2 ends fit.

I had the same problem at first but I took it slow when screwing them in and it worked. They are VERY POINTY
