Oh I have wanted these hooks since I've seen TL YarnCrafts show them! I love the metal hooks. It's a lot right now for me but if you do see these on TEMU or somewhere else cheaper, (they are a hot commodity) please share that info. I don't make shawls so I won't be joining in but I'm sure everyone will do a fabulous job! I'm glad you are doing the TCAL. 😊
Hello 👋 my sweet friend! Thank you for the hook review! I saw these before, and I want to order them . I personally love a little weight on my hooks . I feel like it helps me not move my hands so much when crocheting. That’s just me, I also have pretty big hands maybe that’s why. I don’t know. lol 😂 I’m excited for the Tunisian CAL . It’s very nice and kind of the designer to offer such a nice pattern for free. Thank you! 🙏🏻🥰😘 Thank you Lynanne. This will be my first Tunisian anything, 😂i have been wanting to try Tunisian and this year it’s my goal. I’m excited! 🙏🏻💙🥰😘 13:28
This shawl is so pretty and I like that it has so many different stitches in it. I don't have a set of tunisian hooks yet so not sure I will be able to join this TCal but it looks like a fun shawl to make.
Hi Lynanne! Yessss! I’m in on this Tcal. It will be my first Tunisian shall. I tried one from tlyarncrafts, although I loved the process I didn’t like my chosen yarn. Your shawl is beautiful. I have to rewatch as I watched on my tv, I need to see what supplies I will need. Can’t wait.🦋😊
The dates are easy for me to remember. May 7th is my birthday, and June 11th is my late sisters’ birthday. I think I have the yarn picked out for this project. I will need to get a proper hook with a cord.
The hook set is wonderful! I have a few metal crochet hooks and they are heavy but nice. I am going to try your CAL-I checked the pattern out-definitely a challenge for me as I am not grasping the tunisian stitch too well. I think I will review the increase stitch. I really like the style of this shawl so I can't wait.
Oh my I'm nervous already. I hope the hooks I have will be long enough. I can't put my hands on right now. But they're the ones from mycrochet you told us about on sale. So away I go on getting supplies together. Thanks.
Two issues with mine. Too pointy and threading problems with attaching cables. Very smooth to use. Weight didn't bother me. The shawl pattern is great. Can't wait to give it a go. Thanks for all you do🤗👍
We want pointy 😂 Without pointy, we would be fighting with the stitches trying to pass it through on pass #1 😂 What do you mean by “Threading Problems”? The hook threads onto the cord just fine on my set…
I sure hope my AliExpress hooks come in before this starts. 2 weeks ago they had shipped, but I do have another set of hooks to use. I am definitely a newbie to tunisian so this will be great.
I have watched so many reviews on these and was on the fence. I finally decided to pre-ordered a couple weeks ago. I'm hoping I love them. I also was checking temu and only found a lantern moon equivalent.
Hey lynanne 😛 Those hooks do look nice. 👍 So I still haven’t learned any of the Tunisian stitches you have posted here yet but definitely want to. I have all the hooks and everything I would need but I just need to start learning how to do it lol 😂 just haven’t had time yet with all medical stuff. I’m definitely going to try to learn these before I hope 🤞 I’m not usually a shawl person but I’d do this to learn and who knows maybe I’d actually use it. 😊 So a couple questions… if I was able to join in.. I have all the different sizes of the Mindful swivel cords I got from Etsy seller… I think I shared that with you in case you were interested. Was great price too. But.. you mentioned needing a really long cord for this.. what size of cord do you recommend? Also do you know about how much yardage of yarn was needed for this pattern? So if I was able to do I can make sure I had enough of what I wanted to use. I have a lot of coboo and truboo in different colors. Just need to know how much yardage this shawl takes? 😁 Your shawl did turn out really beautiful! 😍 loving all the colors! 🥰
@@ninasknotscrochet Do you mean a 30 inch long cord? Ya I first need to start learning all the stitches you showed us lol 😂 so here’s hoping I can do all that before. 🤞
@@ninasknotscrochet Ok 👍 ya just wasn’t sure if you meant in cm or something 🤓 I can’t wait to start learning Tunisian and my new hooks set and mindful cords 😜
Thank you for the hook review. I ordered mine in February and still waiting for their arrival-was just notified that they shipped so fingers crossed I get them soon. I'm hoping I can get some of my WIP's out of the way because I would love to do this TCAL - I have so much Truboo in my stash and this would be the perfect project for it. Hoping to join you on the TCAL!
First they are aluminum and nickel plated so they should be heavier than all of the wood hooks. You shouldn’t do this comparison on weight, it apples and oranges. As you only have this set of metal hooks, you should only compare them to another set of metal hooks 🤷🏽♀️they are lighter than my Susan Bates….
Yaaaay! A Tunisian CAL! Woo-goo! This makes me so happy! And, how generous of the designer to make this a free pattern--mind blown!🎉

Sweater is beautiful!! I like those hooks. Juan the yarn addict showed them and I think I might need them!😂😂😂☺️🧶
That shawl looks awesome, I’m gonna have to get my hooks w/ the cords out of the box. Would love to give this a try.
You should!
Hi lynanne, wow! Your shawl is so pretty! Good job!. Mandy uk 🇬🇧 xxx😊

I have been hesitant to order hooks made in China. So far my clover Tunisian hooks have worked great.

Good morning. I am looking forward to do this Tunisian crochet along. Will you make videos of the different sections?
Yes I will
I've learned Icant use the gradient that has three separate strands. I lose my stitches

You need about 1000 yards of DK yarn. 6.0mm hook with at least a 30 cord I hope you join in it’s really beginner friendly

I’m having shoulder replacement surgery May 21st, not sure when I’ll be able to crochet again.
Oh no. Sending healing vibes

I wasn’t comparing them I just was making a observation that they were indeed heavier that what I’m used to
