One of my buddies tells my favorite breakup stories: he dated a girl in high school whose catch phrase was “donion rings” (onion rings) when she was done with something. He got mad at her flirting with other guys, and one in particular. He resolved to break things off. A buddy of his came with him for moral support. They walked up to her across the school courtyard. He said, “You know what? We’re donion rings.” He turned on his heels and walked away.

It was when she told me that she didn't care if I didn't want kids ever, she was willing to compromise and hope that maybe one day I'd change my mind....I was 22, she was 27. Greatest girl I've ever dated, let alone known (other than my Mom and little sister of course), but I knew in that moment that I'd be denying her of the eventual life she wanted. She was a saint and a badass and deserved kids if that's what she wanted, so rather than delay the inevitable and make it even more heartbreaking I called it then and there. We both felt like shit and she was fucking devastated for years.
Now she's married to a guy that had like 3 kids to begin with and they had 1 or 2 more, knew I was right and also am happy for her. Did the right thing, even though it felt awful and a lot people were upset with me.
You absolutely did the right thing even if it was really hard to do. You gave up someone you loved because you wanted the best for them. I wish you all the best.

I broke up with my boyfriend when he told me that he loved me a month in and I still feel really bad about it but at the time I was going through some very dark things that I didn't feel comfortable letting him in on.
we've been back together almost a year and it's amazing. I just needed some healing.
my housemate/friend has some of the same traits as the person who cried because her boyfriend slept on the couch. i literally had to ask her to stop telling me i hate her and she got upset with me for it. takes me spending time on my own as a personal attack whilst telling me she encourages me spending time on my own. i've become completely burnt out on her for the past year i've lived with her and i'm slowly but surely getting my mental health back. you can't help someone who isn't helping themselves, and someone who isn't helping themselves will blame the next best thing for their problems (i.e. thinking that me not spending time with her is causing her sadness and not the fact that she refuses to go to bed at night, eats things that she knows will affect her badly and spends a hell of a lot of money on weed)
Me and my guy sleep in separate rooms. Best situation ever! I stay up late and have to have a fan blowing on me. He likes dead silence. Plus I've always preferred sleeping alone. Well, my dog sleeps with me. Lol! Been together over 10 years. I like having my own room and bathroom.
The one with the guy saying he got aids on speaker was amazing really made me laugh out loud
The “asexual in-the-closet furry” one made me sad ngl, as an asexual out-of-the-closet furry I’m not sure why any of that guy’s traits were necessarily bad

Not inherently bad but I can see why that may not be what the other person wanted. You can see how that can be surprising if one isn’t told about this until you’re already emotionally invested.

Found out my bf was cheating so played dumb for a week. Planned a romantic night. Champagne, sexy under wear etc he took a blue pill. Then when we was about to get to the really fun stuff i put the condom on but pulled it a let go. As he was crying i thew his clothes out my apartment window. He had to run down the stairs and around the building butt naked. Someone had called the cops saying a crazy naked man was running around. He got arrested as he was trying to fish his clothing out the bushes from the yard down stairs. I still laugh when i hear a rubber band snap.🤣 but the best part was i met my husband 6month later. Been married for 18yrs.
How you gonna get a dude arrested for cheating and laugh about it? I get what he did was fucked but come on dude. You couldn’t just get a friend with you and dump him?

I will never be in another relationship where I have to mother a man. I won’t live with someone that I have to work full time, clean and cook. I want an adult, not a child. That’s not sexy to me so I’m happily single and look forward to dying alone💗

My last two relationships were crap.
1st one of the two, the person I was dating came out as non binary. I didn't care about that because honestly I think love is love no matter the gender. But then their entire world and personality became their gender identity, and whenever I would try to ask them for help or let them know I needed support, they would put my issues down and tell me that my issues weren't as bad as theirs. We broke up after I found out they were cheating on me with two other people in a polyamorous relationship.
We're on good terms now, but honestly they shouldn't be dating anyone else. They're a much better friend than they are a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner
2nd one was an out of the closet furry. I'm not a furry myself, but as long as he didn't try to make me become one I didn't mind it. He then started becoming possessive and controlling. He was very clingy and needy and had a habit of reminding me how many other girls he knew, and how I was special because I'm the only girl he accepted to be with. It was always a constant reminder that he has other girls texting and calling him, and it got to a point where my self esteem just started to drop because I knew there were other girls he liked and I had to be better to stay his girlfriend. I eventually just transferred schools and broke it off after he threatened suicide when I told him I was upset with what he was saying.
I don't know how he's doing now but I seriously dodged a bullet.

paracetamol or acetaminophen as its known in the states, is easy to overdose on, and is a slow painful death of liver failure if she had taken enough to overdose, thats more than attention seeking, she actually got lucky to live

My husband has epilepsy. It's very scary when he has a seizure. Like really scary. But at least I can get anything dangerous out of his way and help him afterward.
My nan has epilepsy :)) my grandad still looks after her when she has seizures,and takes care of her really well, it's lovely to see (they're both nearly 80)

The day I realized I had two younger siblings and my bio one was the less annoying of the two. Complained when my brother and I were taking about games or d&d calling it need stuff, would almost exclusively watch sports or cartoons, eating disorders... I was trying to loose weight so he'd hide the junk food in the back room or car then purge after healthy meals. Went away on weekends for sports events, didn't call if he was going to be late or if a buddy was going to crash on the couch. I wanted to go back to college and he discouraged me saying it was a waste of money, was annoyed that my brother had to go to the er because my mom calling me woke him up and he worked early. Threateded to hurt himself if I left. There's more but that's the top of my head.
Less than 6 months after I left his new finance sent me a FB message thanking me for breaking up so he could date her and they were engaged.
Worst part my mom's family still ask what happened he was a good guy.
Do I miss him? No. I miss the cat we had, she was my baby. No idea if he kept her or not... I hope she had a good home
Back in 8th grade, I was a very insecure bisexual girl. I had a crush on this girl on my bus who I sat with. She was the best thing that ever happened to me. I told her how I felt and she said she felt the same and we both started dating. We dated for about 5 months or so, when for a Christmas present I decided to get her a ring and pretend i was gonna marry her lol. I found a box of my moms old things that she said I could look through. I found this really nice ring and decided to give it to her. When I did, I didn't know that it was my great grandmothers wedding ring. And it meant a lot to my mom. She was looking for it and when I told her she totally flipped, and I don't blame her. The only thing that she really didn't need to do was get my school involved, even though it was a PP. She was brought in to the office and said she had X amount of days to find it otherwise she would be assumed to be stealing and would be taken out of advanced classes. You see she misplaced it. And she had told me but I didn't think much of it. When she wasn't able to find it she was taken out of the classes and the school wasn't involved anymore. She did find it a couple days later and her parents gave it to my mom. She hasn't talked to me since. I still think about this all the time and how much I'm effected by it and how much she was too.
Losing her isn't what hurt, it was something else, you see we've broken up before because I was scared to be myself. But then we got back together and she asked if we could make a promise to not walk out on each other, to stick with each other no matter what, and that's what we promised. And I was willing to keep it, but then she ended up being the one to break it. And I say she had every right to. I still know her, we aren't exactly friends we just talk sometimes when we see each other, but we never talk about what happened ever.
The ones where they broke up because things were going "too well" or that they needed to show their wild oats before they settle down....I've had that happen to me twice. Everything was great, and they leave because they dont know how to just be happy. They have to ruin it because they think the grass might be greener on the other side. I'll never understand it. By the time they come back I've already moved on and they always regret it. I'll never get people who ruin good things, it just doesnt make sense.

The fact that some of you will have an AC to have it on 70 degrees or higher is insane here in Los Angeles it's always a minimum of 74 is degrees Fahrenheit so it's insane to me that you would be spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars throughout the year to have it slightly fresher inside the house then just simply opening up a window..... If you're going to have an AC at least keep it in with 60s😂 so it's actually worth it

My SO right now told me that her first boyfriend lasted one month and this was in middle school, he broke up with her on April 1st and told her the reason being was he didn’t have enough trust in her so basically trust issues, like come on Jason, what made me a bit made was that she is a very trustworthy person and never did anything wrong to anyone she knew personally except stealing candy when she was little but that’s a story for another time.
So sad all the people that killed themselves to try to make the person who dumped them feel bad. Literally none of the people seem to have given a shot they did it anyways. They just wasted the rest of their life. They could have atleast like lived out the rest of their life as a drug addict or like literally anything would have been a better use of the time.
