I'm 75 years old now! What memories of the past does this music brings up!
Almost brings tears to my old eyes! I'm lying! I almost can't see the keyboard
from my eyes watering! What blessed music that the Lord allowed my to hear!
Its sad this kinda music is gone, they dont make them like they used to. I'm 55 I grew up watching these as a kid in the 70s. My dads 89 in July, moms 84, there still alive, the heart keeps on ticking.
I'm only 24 and i think this is best music, they just don't do music like this for movies anymore. they barely make good movies anymore if I'm being honest. but music like this, simple storys like this, it made for amazing movies, something a lot of modern films forget.
I am too 75 and now listen the music of yesteryear.

I was to young to go in the cinema, when all this movies were started, but I saw in the newspaper, the movies ran for weeks and month. After I saw them the first time, I understood why. Since them, I watch it again and again, and listen the music as well. Thank you Sergio for the movies, thank you Ennio for the music, where ever you are now.

Throughout my childhood, my father was a huge spaghetti western fan. I was always blown away by these massive scores and would whistle them all day. How this guy only got 1 Oscar is beyond me and that for a modern movie. He added such emotion and passion. God rest your soul Sir, you're light will continue to shine.

I have watched all 3 dollar movies at least once a year since they came out but the final scene in TGTBATU i have "listened" to so many times i can't recall. That trumpet is insane delivering drama, suspense, tears, goosebumps and an apreciatation of Morricone's genius.

Leone and Morricone, who met in school quite young became childhood friends. When the time came for Leone's vision to become reality, Leone chose his friend, who gave the vision a soul. These two re-defined the Western, both visually, and musically.
When we visited Rome, I took my son on a trip by train, bus and foot to a little cemetery south of the city where Leone is buried. To my chagrin, it is kept locked. We snuck around back and scaled a 6 foot wall, so we could lay flowers on this great man's grave.
A beauty of a composition. Morricone's melodic talent is beyond challenge.
For me, Once Upon a Time in The West will forever be and remain the greatest western of them all - mainly because of the music and the directionn but also for its character actors who where born to play these parts.

In South Africa, on the last day of school, we were treated to a film. In 1979 in primary school we saw the Good the Bad & Eli Walsh. I got the DVD and my son and I watch it at least three times a year every year, the best ever none even comes close!!!!

I must have watched the Good the bad and Ugly at least 30 times and counting. Can't get enough. Best movie ever for me. I even have the main theme song as my ring tone.

I remember as a young child in the mid 70s. I lived in San Antonio and my dad would sometimes take us on a weekend trip to Enchanted Rock (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enchanted_Rock ). The whole way there we would listen to one of Ennio's soundtracks that my dad had on 8 track tape. He could be so brutal at other times, but these are fond memories from a childhood of hell. I feel grateful to have his music embedded in my soul.

The singular thing this music underlines and illustrates is that great music raises the level of a film. Good music raises the film to great. Great music raises a film to extraordinary and monumental perfect music such as is played here raises it to immortal.

First saw these films in college upon American release. Have seen the Eastwood trio dozens upon dozens and dozens of times.
Films + Actors + Music = Immortality
And I saw them first time aboard ship - USS America CVA 66 1967 & 1968 I was the projectionist in Ready Room 3 and Ready Room 1 (two separate cruises) 2nd one on Yankee Station - Viet Nam. I've seen them many times since. Only have the CD of "The Good Bad and the Ugly"

Selbst wenn ich nicht alle Filme mit dieser genialen Musik gesehen habe, läuft bei mir im Kopf ein Film ab und meine Gedanken gehen weit weit zurück. Das Geniale ist, mit wie wenigen musikalischen Mitteln hier eine breite Leinwand im Kopf gezaubert wird.
