For those of you who may not know, the landscape pictured above is called monument valley and is one of the most beautiful things I've ever had the privilege of seeing with my own eyes. If you're in the area and into deserts and westerns, you should definitely check it out.
My father made a solo trip to Monument Valley in the early 1950s when it was largely unknown to white men and all the roads were dirt. He got to know Harry Goulding and his trading post. He later took the family and we stayed at Goulding’s lodge. I remember standing outside in the black night and hearing nothing but Navajo dogs barking in the distance.

Takes me back to being a child in the 60's and 70's...inspires memories of my family watching TV in the living room, with my father and mother, a good old Western, those were good days after all. Man I miss my father! If only to be innocent in that safe enclosure once again.
Last year my family made a drive to the Grand Canyon. We drove from Mississippi to Houston to El Paso - Santa Fe - Sodona and finally the Grand Canyon. When we got through San Antionio heading to El Paso we be started listening to this TH-cam video for most of the remainder of our trip. Morricone's music was the perfect sound for our trip.
As a 54 year old rocker musician, I have just discovered the musicanship of these Western Themes. Absolutely epic! This stuff gives me shivers down my spine. I love getting old cos I appreciate so much more, and will until the day I die. Cheers from Western Australia
Hey mate, if you're into Western themed music, there's a band from Ballarat over here in Victoria called 'Jack Harlon and the Dead Crows'. Well worth checking out. Western inspired stoner Rock/doom metal.
I am 64 and somehow loved this music since I was 5 years old. As a young child this music consumed my mind and memories. Today it is just memories. Great Memories.
Had no idea the Maestro had died. I just came back to listen to his wonderful music again when I saw all the comments. Cant believe hes gone. RIP Ennio - Possibly the most influential movie composer of all time.
Jude Heath But the news of the death of the great Maestro and composer Ennio Morricone has been reported by all the media around the world, has arrived on all smartphones.
These "Spaghetti Westerns" are so great because they were made outside of Hollywood, without the constant interference of idiot studio executives. This is what happens when true artists are free to create their visions.
I grew up listening to Morricone and Vangelis, thanks to my father who passed away just before I was a teenager. Me and my family love Morricone to this day, it's our summer soundtrack. Listening to it now brings back memories, love and warmth of both my father and my brother who have been gone so many years. I really miss the good old days when men were men and movies were feelgood.
We used this music at our cowboy themed wedding. People walked in to Once Upon a Time in the West. My husband came in with spurs jingling to The Good, Bad and the Ugly theme. I walked in to Chai Mai. We used the music even when signing the registry. Our invitations looked like old barn wood. We belong to s SASS affiliated gun club and we asked people to dress in Western or Victorian clothes. And we got married on the train platform of a museum that features a pioneer Main Street. Our guests walked through the houses before and after the reception in the banquet room.
I was playing Lucky Luke with my 5 year old boy (and my younger girl) and just for some background music I turned this on. 3 hours later he came back asking “play that music again Mom”. He’s hooked now. Long live Morricone. We are thankful for your music.
the greatest musician of all time. no one comes near to him. "Man with harmonica". what a score it was. he instilled suspense and fear with just the score itself. Henry Fonda's classical act is the cherry on top of the cake.
Never Rest Ennio Morricone and Sergio Leone. The greatest dou to ever make films. Each knew how to move you in thier own way and together thay moved mountains. Cheers to them both!

Listening to this today while painting my son-to-come's room with my father. He was naming the movie to the tune and we just enjoyed our time together while getting stuff ready for my boy. So long as you keep trying, then there are still plenty good times to be had for anyone who wants. All the best to the lot of ya
OMG. Sounds from 60's and 70's and still badass today. Awesome, Morricone. These scores complement their respective films magnificently, telling the story through melody. But they are still master pieces alone.

Legendary music, Ennio Morricone create art, a big part of the cinema history, western genre has no sense without him. Thank you maestro for this great legacy, you never will be forgotten. We say goodbye to you but your music will live on for eternity to remind the next generations of your genius, rest in peace
I can't tell you how many times I have watched these Westerns, but it is a lot. I really think the reason I watched them so many times so I could hear the music associated with all the different scenes in the movies. I love Morricone. I also still watch a lot of his orchestra on youtube playing these wonderful masterpieces.
I had his music on my ringtone. When my phone rang everyone looked! That's what I called an orchestra. With the music and the acting and choreography it is simply the best. And can never be duplicated to it's original.
My father's ringtone is the Chase from the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. His collegaues are calling him at work just to hear the ringtone, or when his phone rings, people around him imitating a horse riding.
Simply amazing.... I recall watching For A Fistful of Dollars as a child in an open air movie theater in Italy when it first came out. Still remember it like it was yesterday, especially the music 💖
This is a truely, absolutely classical and epic music! As a token of proof, I can imagine those tracks playing in different genres, from love stories up to science fiction. Morricone's music has no limits, it stands alone, apart from movies and yet "dresses" them PERFECTLY! It's a blessing that Ennio met Sergio and other significant directors, thus providing us with ETERNAL gems!..
I grew up watching the Spaghetti Westerns as a kid in the mid 70s. The Music always got to me. I just loved the scores. Its just great how you can listen to them now whenever you want.
Don't you worry. It is sad, but the next generation can always replace the old. There is hope for an another legend that will give us something to remember like he did.
I am absolutely sure that everyone who watched 'Once upon a time in the west' for the first time after the film left the cinema as a different person. These pictures and especially this music are magical.
The harmonica that goes throughout that movie, becomes quite an earworm. It stays in your head long after the movie is over. It also rattles around in your head, just thinking about the movie.
Pochi come lui.
I find the beauties in Maestro Ennio Morricone’s scores have to do with his creative uses of certain pieces of musical instruments. They capture my emotions and imaginations. Truly a talented genius.
"You see in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig." Quoted by The Man With No Name (Clint Eastwood) in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
This was childhood, sitting on the couch with my dad. Watching movies I barley could understand but found funny. Spaghetti westerns. Gosh, the memories that rush in. Beautiful music.
I am a big fan of Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef. Although i know that Lee Van Cleef is dead 😔. I don't know how i would react if i saw Clint Eastwood in person.
Morricone is simply the best to have ever lived. I just drove past Monument Valley on my way from Colorado to Phoenix. This area has been devastated by the pandemic. Monument Valley with the majestic View Hotel-closed. In Kayenta AZ to the south, all the motels are closed and some even boarded up. The Navajo Nation has been hit very hard by this crisis. When we suffer, they always suffer worse. All of the Native American jewelry stands that dot the landscape are empty. It was very sad.
The reaction has done far more harm than the virus. Japan and Sweden never closed, they're fone. I kept seeing patients without mask or gloves including staringbinto covid throats as a physician. What finally brought this virus with a 0.05% mortality was not me. It was a Democrat friend of our daughter wearing a mask. An internist physician 38 years in front of so many pandemics and I had never seen such a counter productive STUPID response. Many physicians are banned for statingbthe truth.
The Master is gone but his work and it's impact will live on forever. There's no western without spaghetti western music and there's no spaghetti western music without Ennio Morricone.
Morricone was an artist of the absolutely highest caliber! His compositions and arrangements are of such such high-quality creativity and so many layers of voices / choruses, and unusual instrumentations that all work spectacularly together to create such deep emotions, sense of place and time, and exhilaration that so powerfully enhance the visuals of the associated films. Just listening to the music, you can easily remember and visualize the sequences, landscapes, and action. These westerns were made tremendously better by Morricone's soundtracks! So many delicious details here for one's ears to feast upon!
I like Italo Western. With all the blood, dust, dirt and brutality they show more reality of the wild west as Hollywood ever did. And Ennio Morricone with his great music made they immortal.
BTW: few people know that the main reason Morricone used such unusual instruments in a lot of his early music, was that he was given tiny budgets. He simply couldn't afford to hire a regular orchestra. So he would hire amateurs, street musicians, whistlers, out of work opera singers, etc., then write the music around their particular sounds. Every time I listen to this music, I’m reminded of two things: how much I love and miss my grandfather, who sadly left us too soon, in 2014; and how thankful I am that he played such an amazing part in helping these legendary films make it to the Big Screen.

Allah did not forbid music. This is a complete fabrication. There is no such ruling in the Holy Qur'an. Music is a wonderful gift from Allah to people. Those who want to discredit Islam fabricate such lies in the name of the Prophet Muhammad.

One of the choir voices you can hear in "A Fistful of Dollars" is my old Music teacher: Prof. Andreini.
If you say so, do you know what they are singing? That short frase they always repeat?
@@maddinpictures3102 He always used to say that the lyrics were: "Win The Fight", "Go to Hell" and another I don't remember :(
And more: I honestly don't know in which songs those lyrics really appear. "Go To Hell" is the easiest to recognise but for the others I'm not sure and consider also at that time no one from Italy was able to clearly speak english.

R.I.P. Maestro Ennio Morricone! Your music will never die! 😢💖💖
