This video was made before HMK's vid about Sora being in Smash. He made some really valid points and it was a great video! However I still rest my case with his spot on the tier list since Sakurai always goes all out with DLC, and would likely need permission for multiple different IP's from Disney. But I guess we'll have to see what happens!

But don't get me wrong steve is quite cool its just this feels like a low tier mod that made its way into smash ultimate, with that said if this makes you happy then go along and have some fun but I hope they put better dlc in next pack.

I just want to state things peacefully, also I was very reluctant to write the truth out.

That's a joke right
I mean, yeah Doom Marine/Doomslayer is incredibly violent, yes, but I don't think that's what would prevent him from getting a slot. If anything we to stop DS from a slot it would be either because he is a western character, and Sakurai is generally against including characters he is unfamiliar with, which includes most western characters, or because he uses guns. Bayos guns and Jokers guns were able to slide into the games because, canonical, they don't technically shoot actual bullets. That's why Snake doesn't have any guns, just lots of explosives, because somehow and rpg is more acceptable than a rifle.
@@countcr33per Probably because the common household is more likely to have a handgun or rifle than a grenade launcher. Y'know, with the whole "kids getting their hands on them" aspect.
With that said, that still leaves the Rocket Launcher, BFG, Plasma Rifle, and good oldfashioned fists in the possibility of Doomguy's Smash arsenal.
(And also arguably the chainsaw, but, y'know, kids and powertools don't mix well either.)
@@HHog DS also sporting his new shoulder mounted flame thrower and arm blade in the upcoming, yet delayed(moderately upset about that) Doom Eternal. Also the red sword thing and other more demonic style weapons. I'd love it if DS made it in, but I just think he has far more going against him than for him at this point. Still, there was that leaked footage of the Cacodemon Mii Hat, so who knows.

See but like... he's such a boring pick. Why not Adeline and Ribbon from 64? Why not Marx? Hell, why not a down B transforming Animal Buddies Team of Chu Chu, Coo, Rick, Pitch, Kine, Gooey and Nago? There are SOOO many cooler, more inventive options than "Kirby shaped boi holding a pointy stick", and all of them respected members of Kirby canon. Bandana Dee works as a fine fourth character in the RtD series of games where you give the 4th friend them, but... He pokes. He does the propeller fly thing. He throws it. So amazing.
MEANWHILE HERE'S ADELINE, drawing items into existence with magical painting, throwing a variety of artistic monster creations or setting up cool walls, maybe she has a paint limit meter. Ribbon carries her and together they shoot cystal shards, flying around the map.
Marx would be a cluster of reality warping, dimension shifting craziness as his body separates to open mini black holes, launching beams froms his mouth and similarly flying around.
Where do I even begin on the animal buddies?
Look point is, Spear Boi is just such a "let's represent the lowest common denominator".

Bossrosslp Bossrosslp I don’t like using this term for smash characters but Bandana Dee deserves it more than them. He’s Dedede’s right hand man, Kirby’s best friend, as of Star Allies he’s the P2 of that game, and we don’t have a spear character yet. He would also complete the set of Kirby, Meta Knight and Dedede. He’s also consistently stayed relevant since his debuts. And adding him wouldn’t be representing the “lowest common denominator” he’s one of the most requested characters in Japan and is way more requested than the characters you listed.

Bandana Dee is the 4th main character in the series, he’s like Kirby’s best buddy and appears in all games. He doesn’t have a mouth so he’s a silent guy, even though in some games he’s talking but he doesn’t have a voice.

Sakurai didn’t choose Byleth others higher did, he even made an article stating that he too believes there are too many sword fighters/FE characters, but he does try his best thinking up a moveset to make each character somewhat unique (example: Byleth may use a sword but that sword turns into a whip, and Byleth also wields a lance, axe, and bow)

@@KirbyMaster same, they have so much potential, are in two of Nintendos biggest franchises, have unique traits, are usable for younger audiences and especially in Bandana Dees case have been heavily requested characters.

There’s so much potential there, for example, there’s 547 items in the game so they have a lot to work with, they could even have the Tarot Cards like the empress that would cause Mom to stomp the enemy.
Not only that but there’s a ton of other characters that he could become for his different attacks since they’re all just his imagination, he could shoot Azazel’s brimstone lazer, he could use The Forgotten’s bone and soul form, or Appolyon’s void. He could also have costumes of his different transformations like Guppy, Leviathan or Seraphim. _(Probably not spun though lol)_
His final smash could be summoning delirium who would phase through all the major bosses of the game like It Lives, Hush, ???, and Mega Satan.
And I mean, who else would love to hear Fundamentum (the burning basement theme) or Diptera Sonata (the basement theme) or Infanticide (Isaac’s theme) remixed for Smash?
There could be a map of the Void where some levels from the game would transition every 30 seconds or something, like The Basement, Necropolis, Sheol, Cathedral, Blue Womb and The Chest.
But yeah, maybe this is just me, thanks for reading my comment.

The reason Bandanna Dee is requested is because in Return To Dreamland, the 4 playable characters are Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede and Bandanna Dee. The people who requested him want the whole Kirb gang

While I don't think Byleth was a BAD character, he/she was definitely a huge disappointment and a sour note to end Fighters Pass 1. It should have ended with Terry or Banjo.
Priya Chandrasekaran actually Byleth is the only Fire Emblem character (for me) with dimension and I think he/she is always, *always* fun to play with

@@jerrym2513 Okay, but characters don't have to be necessarily popular to get into Smash. ROB, Game and Watch, Piranha Plant for Christ's sake. TF2 still gets more than 20,000 players a day for over 10 years and was a major contribution to PC gaming back when it released. It doesn't always have to be about popularity.

Bandana Dee would be a perfect representatve of modern Kirby games. He's been in every single modern Kirby game starting from return to dreamland, and if you think about it, the Kirby games from return to dreamland forward are barely represented at all in ultimate aside from a few spirits and a few music tracks (triple deluxe got the most "love" with 3 music tracks). Not calling anyone out, but the Kirby games with the most representation in smash are the ones Sakurai made (mainly super star), including the 3 Kirby characters we got in smash.
With Bandana Dee, he'd represent the modern Kirby games with music that gives all of them the rightful respect they deserve. He could, for example, come with a remix of Masked Dedede since he started to really shine in super star ultra, and some remixes from Kirby battle royale since he fought alongside Kirby in that game with parasol. Maybe for his stage, it could be another dimension as it appears in RtDL and star allies, with those doomers, magolor's ship, Landia, and other stuff flying in the background.
I'm sure you all can think of other stuff about stages and music and stuff that would accompany Banana Dee, but I think we can agree on the fact that the Kirby series should be represented better in ultimate than in it is now, with 2 remixes (awesome remixes, but why only 2?), and what better way to represent the Kirby series more than to represent the modern series?
(Regardless, I'm extremely proud of Sakurai for putting so much work and love into this game 💙)
