Great video. I ordered my MS03 a couple of months ago and it works perfectly. No turbo issues. Also they’ve updated the UI so it’s now 4 clicks for lockout and 3 clicks takes you to lowest brightness setting from any mode, including turbo. You can do 3 clicks from off too which ensures lowest brightness and overrides the memory. I liked the music in your video.

Excellent and honest review. I love some good honesty. In fact this little dude is a mini MS18. Of course 100,000lm is something different but this 10,000+lm does exactly what its big brother does. A couple things...the MF01 looks to me to be the second brightest here and definitely has the most throw, which I’m glad to own, very happy with it. I haven’t had good luck with the 2 IMALENT’s I have owned, but think I might want to give this one a chance and add it to my collection. Hope it’s not more than $100. Hopefully they will fix those turbo issues by the time I get around to buying it.
You showed us some of its problems although simple to fix, we are so grateful for the non-biased and clear review.. Thats what makes you the best flashlight reviewer here in youtube. And wow! That has got to be the most compact 3 xhp70.2 powered flashlight so far. Cheers!!
I can confirm having the same issue with the MS03; the Turbo mode is frequently unavailable. And you’re correct, disconnecting, then reconnecting the battery is only a temporary fix. Pity because it’s potentially a very impressive little light.
Thank you for a very informative review. It’s got some punch for such a small flashlight. It’s a real pocket rocket! Hope they address the turbo issue. The only Imalent I own is the MS18 which as you know is totally insane but definitely not one for the back pocket! Really enjoyed this video and many of your previous ones too.

I am not happy with my MS03 as well due to the Turbo mode not working consistently. I have reached out to Imalent support. Let's see what they have to say about it.
Thank you for the review! I somewhat expected it to be a little brighter, but maybe because it's all flood no throw. They should have used slightly deeper and smoother reflectors!

This is IMALENT's reply to me: "Please tell them: MS03 is an extreme bright flashlight with smallest body, so it is designed to get the turbo output for most two times with fully charged battery within short time, or the battery will become empty within 10 minutes. We do this to keep the flashlight have a longer runtime." They don't seem to want to acknowledge it's happening from cold with a fully charged battery.

Excellent review. I'm trying to find a more complete, more feature-rich and more stylish flashlight than my Emisar D4S v2 Xpl hi, so far I haven't found it.
I just got mine today, I experienced the turbo issue, flashlight intermittently not going to Turbo. It lets me do it about 2-3 times before it begins to flash red, on the normal mode, the warning light turns red afterwards as if the battery is dying or notifying me to charge it.
It wasn't until you did a 360° of Vanhalla that I genuinely understood why you called it "Vanhalla". Not surprised 3xXHP70.2 with a shallow reflector is all flood, but with that much LED die area I imagine the efficiency would be excellent.

I was thinking about the fw21 from lumintop, I would really like to know what the problems are with the immalent. 30 amps is really extreme for a 21700. I consider that a maxed out performance battery wise
I spent months studying various flashlights and even briefly learned how to get a rough lumen output rating just from battery output, ended up settling for an Ozark Trail 2K lumen dual source spot/floodlight for the price range and haven't been disappointed yet but.. it's just that old problem with wanting something more, something bigger. Boruit's little TikTok shop light is pretty good if you don't get a funky knockoff (and once you figure out how to change ten modes with two buttons) but it just doesn't have the hit of a sturdy flashlight. But the real question, is $130 worth the light you get?
Just watched this one again. I really like the idea of "wall of light" type flashlights with tons of light, like this one has. I understand you don't recommend them. What other "wall of light" torch is good, but not super expensive, and with a good tint like this one?

IMALENT's response to the turbo red light issue: "because we put glue to seal the head and battery tube, when it is not dry, we started to test them on turbo, so the glue melted and loosed the body, but we didn't realised before. If people who want to solve the problem themselves, just need to take off the body, clean the glue and make it tight"
Imalent is fucking garbage ! First light I bought from you and it was defective (RT 70) half the led chip was burned out ! I'll never buy Imalent garbage ever again !!
Man, that would be frustrating then. Having a company with such a good reputation like imalent, you actually expect them to resolve the issue. It seems manufacturing defect and they dont seem to want to fix it rather give a mundane advice that dont work. They should recall all the products and fix it soon. You are the best! But you already know that... Quick question though... Can I use different type of 21700 battery on this flashlight? Like a normal unprotected high drain flat top 21700 cell?
Hello Flashaholics, thank you very much for the excellent review. I think this flashlight can go at 3000 lumen without stepdown. For me it is important the continious level. According to you which flashlight is your proposal for highest lumen can go without stepdown about this edc size?
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV So what's the point of spending $130.00 for a 3000 lumen light? I've had all the same problems described by everyone. Especially the very underpowered battery. Was wondering would the 5000mah used in my DM70 work in this light?
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV thanks but it goes only to 2000 if we select High mode, that is 8000 and set down after to 2000. Can we go direct to 2000? Thanks again.
it gets you a higher time output on lower settings. like take the lumintop fw3a for example with 2800mah max that will last few seconds only, with this light the 2800-3000 lumen mark would last way more
Turbo is basically for emergency use like Strobe. If your dog yells in the distance you can light up everywhere to quickly see where he is. You can click back to Turbo for another 45 seconds anyway (if the light wasn't faulty). For professional search and rescue use a larger light.
@@kachow2818 I mean in terms of everyday usability - for example, TUP is too bulky to be used as a keychain and so both of these lights are practically a pocket devices.
Nice video, so finnaly it has 5100 or 10500 lumens out of 13000? This imalent still bad like others imalent products? It is hard to find this bright and also small edc...
My 1000 lumen Ledlenser gets hot and kinda uncomfortable after 1 min of use, how in the hell does this thing burn so bright without completely frying the internals?
Imalent disappoints again. I'm not surprised. This is not a light that I want to have on me at any time, whether it's just outside or in a *💨DANGEROUS PLACE💨* . Not only is it unreliable and finicky, it's far too powerful to deploy indoors (even on its lowest mode) and simultaneously too short-ranged for field usage. This philosophy of "trade ergonomics for power, usable beam pattern for power, reliability for power, trade EVERYTHING for sheer power" will be their eventual downfall.
I agree. There's more to flashlights than max brightness. My Nitecore MH12 V2 for example is only 1000 lumens max but it's impressive as all getout because it has a nice deep reflector.

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV excuse me flashaholic, i want to ask, i have one MSO3, can i replace the imalent ms03 using a non protect battery like the samsung 30t which has been modified to be bottom top or not? because the default MS03 battery is only 15 amperes, while the Samsung 30T 35 amperes, please help answer, thank you
@@arifwidianto3400 It would need a huge button on it!
The nitecore concept 2 is 6500 lumens but it has deeper reflectors so the throw should be better
Very good review and video👍
3xXHP70.2, WHY?
Left thumbs up before I even started the video.
And the included battery has a charge port? Making the battery longer? My olight 21700 batteries may not work in it?
Do you know how can I use high drain unprotected cells such as 21700 Molicel P42A on the R30C or the R60C for more higher Lumen output than protected Imalent cells these flashlight comes with??I tried to use the P42A but it doesn’t seem to make battery’s top head pin and bottom contact to the light
Please do a review for the Imalent LD70. I really want that light. The LD10's button is very hard to push with one hand, and it's too small to hold.
Improvement suggestion: use fixed exposure, ISO, and shutter speed for the light comparison and put the value of that in the screen so we can imagine how bright the flashlight when compared to the other one.
Everything is fixed! The camera still steps down a little even with exposure comp set to max. ISO800, WB4900K.
good video but another dodgey light and the MFO1 mini hammers it on throw aswell think i will pass on that 1 cheers
Lol, what is with the fake noises near this supposed devil's head tree? And where in the world is this "tree"? :) Great Video btw, very detailed and exactly what anyone would want in a review.
you going to review the fw21 pro
Possibly, I just hope the button is OK.
The astrolux MF01 for the win!!!
RECOMmEND IT HIGHLY. ,, WOOAHHW YEAH , really IT's AWESOME
Nope. They are faulty.
Hi, thank you for the informative video. Is there a way that the light switch on at the lowest mode, ie take out the mode memory?
Not possible
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Thanks for the info 👍
Food for thought 👌👌👊
Still ❤️ my E07 & PL47G2. Better throw.
不知道跟acebeam的k40m比較會亮度差距很大嗎 想找體積小一點的來登山使用
Wish they made it proper throw w still the 3 leds
If I wanted to buy a 21700 battery replacement for my imalent ms03, the flat head one would be right?
I think it just takes the included battery
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV could you please try with other types of 21700 you have if they still works on imalent ms03? I'm afraid to buy the wrong one, please 🙏
@@ilquartetto I did, they are way too short, it does say so in the review
Nice video but are you scared? What sound is that?
Lol 3x 70.2s? I want. I see the typical British weather here. Over here in London, had a brief 'sprinkling' of drops, but nothing I'd consider rain, for a long time now...
Rained hard here last 3 days
IMALENT's response to the turbo red light issue:
"because we put glue to seal the head and battery tube, when it is not dry, we started to test them on turbo, so the glue melted and loosed the body, but we didn't realised before.
If people who want to solve the problem themselves, just need to take off the body, clean the glue and make it tight"
Didn't resolve the issue for me.
I was thinking of getting one but as soon I saw this, it make me think twice. Is there any plan to review Tm9k from Nitecore?
@@f50koenigg Nope, Nitecore have daft runtimes on turbo lately.
I wish all flaslights had adjustable focus with a lens and that kind of thing
What's the brightest AA batteries flashlight ?? Thank you very much.
Zebralight do a 550 lumens single AA torch. I think Sofirn do a 1000 lumens one with 4 batteries.
Would be possible to use battery that can store more energy or power?
There are 5000mah 21700's but they probably won't have enough amps to get you turbo or 10k.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV so the amps are very important for this flashlight, I have one on the way I knew the turbo won't last long but with technology mowing fast forward hopefully they will have battery like that
These look brighter in person right? I feel like my 260 lumen keychain light wouldn't be considered dim compared to this. Probably just under half as right, idk.
😲
Love the blade runner music too! Haha Which is better the MS03 or DX80?
DX80 works, so the DX80
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV the ms03 doesn't work? What about the ms06?
You are the best! But you already know that... Quick question though... Can I use different type of 21700 battery on this flashlight? Like a normal unprotected high drain flat top 21700 cell?
Nope, unless you have a stupidly long spacer of some description.
Hello Flashaholics, thank you very much for the excellent review. I think this flashlight can go at 3000 lumen without stepdown. For me it is important the continious level. According to you which flashlight is your proposal for highest lumen can go without stepdown about this edc size?
2000 on this one
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV which one would you prefer Nitecore E4K or Imalent MS03?
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV So what's the point of spending $130.00 for a 3000 lumen light? I've had all the same problems described by everyone. Especially the very underpowered battery. Was wondering would the 5000mah used in my DM70 work in this light?
@@westiewest6759 if it is long enough
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV thanks but it goes only to 2000 if we select High mode, that is 8000 and set down after to 2000. Can we go direct to 2000? Thanks again.
Wait the 21700 has a charging port in it so is it longer or is it a smaller battery
Very long battery
I never understood the point of having that high of an output if it can't be on for less than a minute.
it gets you a higher time output on lower settings. like take the lumintop fw3a for example with 2800mah max that will last few seconds only, with this light the 2800-3000 lumen mark would last way more
Turbo is basically for emergency use like Strobe. If your dog yells in the distance you can light up everywhere to quickly see where he is. You can click back to Turbo for another 45 seconds anyway (if the light wasn't faulty). For professional search and rescue use a larger light.
Good for welding and cutting. But there is a bad smell afterward.
Do you think this one is better than the fenix lr35r?
Nope. This one is buggy.
@FLASHAHOLIC i dont know what buggy means butt i understand the lr35r is better haha
Does it have the blinking flasher ?
Premature low battery/overheating red light indicator issue?
sounds like there was a herd of roaming Mastodons over the hill somewhere
How it compares to Nitecore TUP?
I think the TUP throws further!
@@kachow2818 I mean in terms of everyday usability - for example, TUP is too bulky to be used as a keychain and so both of these lights are practically a pocket devices.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV I've used it for a small period of time and I was blown away with the throw, and it had a nice roll-off flood.
@@vessk000 My Tup isn't faulty! TUP is as as better safer light.
Doe's it feel comfortable in the hand to hold?
Not really. Odd size and gets hot
Did you sh!t your pants at the end? haha good video 👍🏻
Nice video, so finnaly it has 5100 or 10500 lumens out of 13000? This imalent still bad like others imalent products? It is hard to find this bright and also small edc...
This light is defective
Can you use the turbo for more than 45 sec?
Temperatura jest wtedy bardzo wysoka.
My 1000 lumen Ledlenser gets hot and kinda uncomfortable after 1 min of use, how in the hell does this thing burn so bright without completely frying the internals?
@CrazyFoolHI it gets toasty, and glitchy.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TVAw, that sucks to hear. I knew these super bright, small form-factor torches were a gimmick. Nonetheless, keep up the good work.🤙
Has Imalent fixed the red light issue yet?
I've not heard anything but most reviewers won't mention it anyway.
Music is Perfect and Magic!!
I removed the original audio as it was flagged up copyright 😔 this is just from the TH-cam sound library.

@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Thanks buddy
The idea of it is great though. If it’s fault was fixed.
Good light, let down by a badly fitted switch, a poor version of Anduril II and a slight flicker at lower levels
Good review
Imalent should switch to Anduril. Well that's just my opinion.
Anduril won't suit everyone, only flashoholics. I find it incredibly difficult to sell to the average user
How did u measure the lumens?
Home made light box . It maybe 2 to 10% out.
do you have IMALENT MS06 review?
Nope, no plans to either.
IMALENT or webun brand???? Please which is better
Wuben.
1:47 that flashlight is BRIGHT!!!!!
@@Madman6505 the nitecore tup and concept 2 are good
@@thepurdychannel8866 I have a TUP and agree it's awesome. The throw is amazing for such a little thing. I wish they would make a TUP 2 though with better traction, firmer buttons or easier lockout/unlockout, IPX 8 rating, tailstand ability, and USB C for faster charging.

@@thepurdychannel8866 I ordered Ms03 just because I have Manker U21 what is great thrower but for fishing and walking not so good, where is the point of 700m throw when I can't even see that far to recognise things and then you hear something around you and you go left and right with light just to cover the area because of the tight beam but I'm pretty sure this will light up whole field or forest no problem 😉

what is your recommendation for an edc?
I use Emisar D4V2 but it depends what you need or can afford. I usually recommend Astrolux EC01 due to its price and all round ability. Fenix don't tend to break or scratch!
