I've started Shaman Tanking in Turtle about a year ago after the talent changes. I was really successful with it up until I hit BRD and tried tanking at lvl 55 with 60s in the group. Was impossible to hold threat. I loved your talent suggestions for increased tanking potential. Considering Shamans cannot wear plate, I think it'd be only fair that they include some extra threat generating ability to compensate where they lack with armor.
You tank with Shammy through damage. If you team with epic gear lvl60 in BRD ? then you can't do the job. 1. You have to play with an equal level team. 2. Use a slow 1h weapon for max SS. 3. Spam earth shock. 4. Get the + 3 hit talent and get strength on ALL gear pieces and use proc enchants and proc trinkets. 5. Use Rockbiter weapon, NOT WF. 6. Never give WF totem to the team, use grace of air totem, this will moderate the teams threat and provide more dps for you. 7. Get shield spike, thorns etc. damage return items and buffs.
Would love to see hunter's next becasue the one of the new abilities they get completely changes how hard a hunter can push ! Also i love shaman's bloodlust :D

Hi, i want to play Classic, and maybe BC on private server, where and what server would you recommend? I want it as close and similar to the real thing as possible. And where do i download and play the legit no scam or virus versions?:)
The main difference is in all the custom gear that had been added and that is tuned towards shamans. Itemazation being one of the main weaknesses of ele/enh shamans. Moreover a lot of already existing gear has had its stats reworked, Check out the T2 and T2.5 especially
The suggestion for fire totems to generate threat for the shaman isn't realistic for how classic is coded. The only way in which you can transfer aggro generation in WoW is by targetting an ally and using an ability (like misdirect) to then link your aggro table to theirs in some fashion. This would mean coding the fire totems to first target the caster and using an ability to transfer aggro to them. Then casting whatever spell that fire totem performs. That's incredibly complicated and likely to be extremely difficult to get it working reliably without issue. You then also run into the problem of then having to rebalance magma and nova totems. As those generate an incredible amount of threat. Thus why the elemental talent exists to decrease cast time on nova and threat on magma. Shamans would be insane AoE threat tanks with your suggestion. Especially since nova has no threat cap due to it not existing after it casts. So the devs would then have to create a threat cap for that. Which is also complicated and a change to a core coding aspect to the ability. Also, in regards to your hybrid spec discussion. Flametongue weapon enchant counts as a spell and can proc clearcast as well as do increased damage from Elemental Fury talent as it's a fire spell. And if it crits, it will then proc Elemental Devastation talent for increased melee crit. And with how Flametongue weapon enchant is coded. Melee crits have a bonus chance to proc flametongue crits as well (this was done to offset it's lower base damage and spellpower scaling requirements). Couple that with Flurry being proc'ed when you crit with a melee attack. And a macro to initiate an auto before casting lightning with a spellpower dagger. And you have a quick autoattack that amounts to less then a global cooldown for two chances to trigger clearcasting before each lightning bolt cast. You lose out on using spellpower oil on your weapon. But gain significant mana efficiency in exchange. Allowing you to use a higher rank of lightning unless you run into bad luck and don't proc any crits at all. This is a unique and experimental thing that I was building towards... before the server crash a couple weeks ago killed my hardcore shaman at lvl59. XD
I've done some extensive testing now, and it seems that windfury come on top every time, testing it with different specs, and different weapons with different speeds, testing all the weapon enhancements. Windfury is hands down the winner. it seems that flametounge does not proc flurry and it does not proc elemental devastation. though it would be cool if it did.
Heal crits also proc elemental focus even tho it does say damaging ability I does not change anything really. Like I could spam rank 1 healing wave before a fight to start of with the proc but that’s no game changer. Maybe could be used for a ele/heal hybrid but i don’t see the point of that tbh.
Enhancment has a few talents that help you tank but they seriously need more diversity and robustness if a Mail wearer is going to tank like a druid, Pali, or warrior can. I want some kind of tank healing that comes naturally to shaman. The Spirit Wolves could be a great tanking ability if worked out that way. They should get the same stamina buff or similiar that Druids get. Bloodlust should be either nerfed potential, but now always works or is triggered on kill.
@shjelde660 hahaha. So right. I'm playing HC. Forgot pvp existed. I'm still feeling rough after clearing RFC last night. Shaman has more utility than ever but it's not enough to tank on HC
