hi nightwing, i dont have an ankle injury or anything but sometimes when im playing basketball my ankles feel sore, what would you recommend i do?
Hey man, thanks for the review! I played for a volleyball team and a bunch of my teammates had ankle braces like this one and they'd take out the insole and put it over that part that makes the brace so uncomfortable. then they would put their foot in. so maybe the same thing applies with this brace?

ASO, in my opinion is the best one out there. I wore them for preventative support on both ankles for 3 years in high school for practice and games. After 3 years they are worn out but did give great support without limiting mobility!
@13laZe9 - Ive been wearing them for a while now and they are not very comfortable each and every time. The fabric braces are much more comfortable.
I am always looking for a new ankle brace every year. I bough these two after seen this video but they did not helped me at all. Very light support. I ended up buying the brand Xforce Laceless or Quickwrap model at amazon and they offer me 5 times more lateral support than the Mcdavid for half the price. I also have ASO ankle brace which are really good but they are too expensive and a bunch of lace and strap to deal with. I have tried many ankle braces for the past years but Xforce beats any brand by far..
how long have u been wearing these? i have laced up mcdavids it and it took 1 month to get used to, thats why it might feel uncomfortable

Hey I wear a size 9.5 in cleats what size brace would you recommend me getting? The Small/Medium or Large/Xtra Large. I think the small medium but I want to be sure.
@nightwing2303 What other ankle braces do you recommend/think will work? I've just sprained my ankle a week ago, it's feeling fine, and I want to test it out.
Hey nightwing, from someone who has had multiple ankle sprains, two surgeries, and needing another, I only recommend one ankle brace and that's the MedSpec ASO. There are different variations but the standard does an excellent job. I have tried McDavid and it is terrible compared to ASO, not to mention it will start to tear the sides of your shoes. I have a video on the ASO on my channel. ASO is the one team trainers give to NBA players like Monta Ellis and Curry.
Would these be better than the adizero speedwraps?

I use the Mc David Ultra light ankle brace with the figure 8 straps its not bad u should try it , or the slide on ones

@SK8Asian - Kobe 7, CP3.V, Reebok Zig Encore, Hyperenforcer, jordan 2012, Rose 2.5, adipower howard at the moment

@KochyKicks23 nike hyperfuse 2010, or 2011 they both do the job.
Those stabilizers are made to stay in the shoe... I wore them for football. You place your insole over the bottom plate and then you put your foot into your shoe/cleat

This looks good but the Wildtman ankle brace from Australia is the best brace in the world I have been wearing one watch this space
I have used Ankle braces for the past years. I would pay that money for
something that works but in this case I wasted my money buying this Mcdavid
brace. If you want to get something that offers protection, strong
support and can be removed and put on fast get the Xforce quickwrap sold
at amazon. I also like the Aso brand but they are not even close to
the Xforce quickwrap in quality and price.

I've shattered 5-6 of those mcdavids. The best I've seen in the donjoy hinged braces. They're 100 dollars but I've bought one new ion eBay for 30. It's a little slimmer than the mcdavid but way more durable. Best I've used

the mcdavid "195" brace is wayyy better. ive tried on that x brace and hated it. the 195 is way more comfortable and natural feeling and you can even get it tighter than this one cuz its a lace up and has 3 straps. its completely fabric but its extreamly supportive and perfect for the healing process and even more so play. (talkin from experience here) you gotta go cop 195 and its cheaper btw. the x brace is wack

It's to much to wear this kind of brace.... if it is 3 degree then wear it but if it is 1st degree you will damage your ankle... and it will be more sensitive... be very careful of what you wearing and always ask your doctor....
thats a stupid comment, "it cuts off circulation from the foot, so it feels numb" if that actually happened the muscles in your foot would stop functioning and you would fall over! no balance and not push off... and you would break your bones as the muscles are not absorbing the load any more. sorry but thats the truth.. and you complain about the material being too thin, then you say "it feels like i am sitting a little bit higher" so what do you want them to do?
Nothing to hate about man, I appreciate that it was your experiance but I had to leave that here because I know some people who are not very smart will believe every word you said to the letter. And yes while it may decrease you blood supply as tape and any other brace would. You would be able to sue mcdavid if it cut your blood supply as you could lose your foot.
Omar Khalil You might want to work on your approach then bc thats not how it came across at all. You pretty clearly attacked my personal experiences with the item without just cause.
