    All your hard works paying off great now. I've enjoyed this series because you've outlined all your ideas, tried them, then re-evaluated and changed them when needed, but you've always had the guts to put everything, warts and all on video. Lots of people never show the mistakes or problems they encounter yet they always happen on jobs like this, so good onya mate you bearded babbling burbler you :-0

    Hi Mark. Getting excited about the build. Can I suggest? The human fingers can tell differences down to .001 inch. Don,t wear gloves and close your eyes. Not kidding,it helps you have 100% concentration. All the best from me,Laury Lafleur Cheers from Vancouver Island

    Seems not many like those mirrors! If it were me, I'd try old school simple chrome rounds on thin stalks - seeing as you don't want bar-ends. Good work mate!

  • @garthhowe297
    @garthhowe297 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    LOL 34C ... not that hot? In Canada, if we have several days in a row that hot, they declare a Heat Emergency! 34C is pretty much as high as we ever get. Be careful when you are spraying those parts... you might be getting overspray from the other parts.. maybe hold up a piece of cardboard between the parts when spraying?

  • @p.a.4928
    @p.a.4928 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    She looks "Ghostrider's bike" with this mirrors ! 😜
    Seriously, "End bar mirrors" are cheap, more usefull (if they aren't too small) and could give a clean look to you bike.
    You make a good work with this restoration, i think that the bike could be so beautiful at the end.
    Good continuation, bye.

  • @MnAkayakfishing
    @MnAkayakfishing 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey mate
    I think you should get the mirrors that sit on the end of your handle bars , they plug into your handle bars .

  • @harrybrown4815
    @harrybrown4815 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just for future reference when spraying with cans this devise saves the old fingers from aching! not that I use such a thing
    ; )
    www.amazon.co.uk/AEROSOL-SPRAY-TOOL-STANDARD-AEROSOLS/dp/B00A3QZ8L2
    I find that spray cans work best if put them in a bucket of boiling water and leave until you can put your hand in to retrieve the can. This allows the contents of the cans to absorb enough heat to thin the paint and bring the can to pressure. The results from this method give thinner coats and greater coverage. The one thing with this method is you MUST invert the can before use and release a small amount of gas so as to clear the nozzle of any water that may be present before spraying.
    Mistakes are great as long as we learn from the first one!

  • @fiftyracer192
    @fiftyracer192 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mark would you not put a wee bar end mirror on the right hand bar and leave it at that? I've one on my bike and it's very unobtrusive and actually very good for rear vision. Those mirrors are gross and any mirrors that stick up will spoil the bike tbh.

  • @gloster8
    @gloster8 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bar end mirrors might be the way to go.

    • @BikerBits
      @BikerBits  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Joseph Vella I don't usually like bar end mirrors, but they might work on this bike, and help keep the compact look of the bike.

    I gotta be honest. Love the bike but them mirrors gotta go. Have you considered some under slung bar end mirrors.

  • @joefisher4267
    @joefisher4267 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lose the mirrors, please! You made a rod for your own back buying that rust bucket, but
    fair play to you for seeing it through. I hope the final finish includes a bit of contrast, not too much black.
