    Wolfe here proving he's one of the best. Damn, that team building. Haven't played for a while, but this man still impresses me.

    • @Nunexx97
      @Nunexx97 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      team building was actually pretty meh tbh no terrain control, no speed control (apart from dusclops, that is shut down by calyrex-s and taunt), no solid way to deal with kyogre, very weak to intimidate... his team relies too much on the extra bulk provided by cherrim, but cherrim itself is very frail, weather-dependent and lackluster offensively. fun team, yeah, but certainly risky! sadly, his strat was wrecked by the trick indeedee-m and kyogre teams :(

    • @broskander3671
      @broskander3671 3 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      @@Nunexx97 I think the big issues are terrain control which isn't as wildly important as it used to be and the choice of dusclops as his TR Setter. And honestly he's not super weak to intimidate since he has Zapdos and Entei who don't care about it. That and the Kyogre matchup is definitely rough.

    • @Nunexx97
      @Nunexx97 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@broskander3671 terrain control is definitely important. Psychic terrain nerfs Incin pretty hard, Grassy gives Rilla and Tsareena priority glides into Groudon, Misty prevents Entei from landing burns with SF, etc. Of course Wolfey can play around these factors, but they're there nonetheless. As for intimidate, Groudon is severely less threatening at -1 and -2. We saw that in game 2 vs Ryota, where Groudon was shut down by the Arcanine. At -2 it doesn't even do 50% to the Calyrex with P-Blades... In that same set, the lack of speed control was clearly noticeable. Groudon was KOd by the Caly+Mienshao with ease... I think he needed Tailwind to at least mess up with the opponent's game plan

    • @Nunexx97
      @Nunexx97 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    • @broskander3671
      @broskander3671 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Nunexx97 all good. Yeah I think terrain control is important but you can get by without it if your team has the right tools. Is all I meant. I agree that tailwind would have helped him although I still think the big issue is Dusclops as a TR setter on this team. Porygon2 gives way more game against Calyrex. As for intimidate yeah in those games it screwed him but that was more so an issue with those players out positioning Wolfe as opposed to the team being super weak to it.

    I have no idea whatsoever about competetive VGC, but was this an official tournament run by nintendo and did they ban dynamaxing?

    • @munge3563
      @munge3563 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, it's official and everything. They can't host physical tournaments just yet, so they decided to do a Wi-Fi one.
      Then as for the Dynamax ban, yeah, they banned it for this format for the time being since they allowed restricted Pokémon in. Certain restricted like Dusk Mane Necrozma would be borderline unbeatable in a D-max meta

    Honest question. Why not just take heat wave on zapdos and hit both the mons instead of weather ball?

    • @curtisbrown2281
      @curtisbrown2281 3 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Abilites that hit both do way less damage.

    • @caerulea00
      @caerulea00 3 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      also, having a fire type move with 100% accuracy and no drawbacks is arguably more useful than using heat wave (which has 90% accuracy). the other mons on wolfes team have sacred fire (95% acc), flare blitz (recoil) and heat crash (relies on opponent not being heavy). while heat wave hitting both pokemon is useful, weather ball is a much safer and more powerful option imo

      Who cares if the pokemon were hacked anyway? Probably every pro player hacks their pokemon.
      It makes no difference on the battles, literally.
      The only way to win battles is by building a good team and making good strategies.
      The stats are not illegal, the only difference is that by "hacking" your pokemon you skip the hundreds of hours that takes to breed and ev train them, but that does NOT help you 1 bit to win any battles.
