I have had cakes baking in the oven and realized I had a whole cup of something left out on the counter waiting to go in the mix. Nice to see the "real" moments shared with us all. Makes us all feel a little more "normal". You are a delight Paula. 🇨🇦
Oh my, Paula, growing up in a large family, beef Stroganoff Casserole was one of my favorites to make for dinner. My mother worked so we girls cooked dinner. One by one my older sisters moved out and got married. I was the only girl left living at home. Casseroles of any kind were welcomed at the dinner table when I made them. So good that you bring back memories of the good ole days of cooking for me. I love ya Ms Paula. Shirley Warix, Citrus Heights Ca.
Thank you for keeping these videos real and not editing out mistakes and mess ups. Anyone who has ever cooked has made mistakes. Loved when Miss Paula asked Teresa to "wrench" out that dish..FYI.."wrench" is an old southern pronunciation of rinse..
I make stroganoff with ground beef but use beef broth with a flour slurry to thicken, not chicken broth. I don't add any cheese. A great, homemade one pot meal.
The beef broth sounds better. I remember growing up we'd have seasoned hamburger gravy poured on a slice of bread and sometimes a vegetable on the side usually string beans or a boiled potato.
When I was a young bride, with no cooking experience, I was so proud to have made a tuna casserole - that is until I realized, too late, that I forgot to add the tuna. The tunaless casserole was already served!
That looks delicious!! So funny that you forgot the ranch dressing. I think we’ve all had some mistakes in the kitchen. I once had just put pumpkin pies in the oven when I realized I’d forgotten to put in the sugar!! I pulled them out of the oven, poured the filling in a bowl, added the sugar and put the pies back in the oven! No worse for the wear. You forgetting the ranch dressing in your recipe made me think of my “almost” pie disaster. 😅😂 If we can’t laugh at ourselves who can we laugh at…
New at making Quiche once I the flou sitting on the counter after I closed the oven door. I also quickly retrieved the pie . Then, right in the shell, I gently stirred the small amount of flour to the egg mixture & returned it to the oven. I was so worried it would throw off the texture if I didn't. Well, it turned go delicious 😋. 😅
Your pan is aluminum. My mother-in-law had one too. She used hers to collect kitchen scraps in. She took them out to the fields to help add nutrients to the soil. When she was canning, we emptied it several times a day.
Oh Paula, I forget ingredients sometimes and have to add at the last minutes. I'm so glad to see the Pro's like you do the same thing. I can't wait to try this delicious looking dish. You are the BEST!! I love watching all your shows and videos !!!
I make this all the time. Instead of ranch dressing, I mix mushroom soup & Dry Sherry to mix in, but it’s all good 👍 oh & beef broth instead of chicken
I do it all the time, and I was so glad to see the reality of true homemade cooking come out in this episode. Nothing in life is as perfect as television makes us believe. I love that you didnt let the misstep phase you. Thats why you are loved so much, you are real!!
One of those days! 🤣 LMAO Thanks for not editing out those mistakes. Things are going to happen and you can fix it sometimes. I baked a homemade pizza on parchment paper, so it would be easier to move onto cuttingboard. Ya, slid right to the floor. Couldn't fix that.😁❤️🤍💙
Mrs Paula says "Do ya'll ever do anything like that ⁉️ " 🙄 I roared ! 😆 YESsss ... just about weekly !! 🤦♀️ At 72, with a younger husband, he gives me that Duh look whenIgroan about that kind of thing. Now he's starting to do those things himself & we both laugh 😃. My mom used to say "The hurried I go ,the behinder I get ‼️" 😂 Thanks for the twist on a classic family recipe & thanks for the homemade Ranch Dressing recipe also. BTW making Stroganoff is good time to sneak in some ground turkey substitute once in awhile . 😉 🏖Kj in Tampa Bay 😍
Paula Deen I can’t WAIT to make this~ bettin’ the Combo of that Ranch Dressing w/Buttermilk the Sour Cream and all those SHROOMS omg can’t wait to make this. Will find me some folks to feed and get to it! (PS: the Methods you use are always unique special and major flavor builders! Love your Ways). Add a Green Salad and that’s my favorite meal. Chocolate something for Dessert. 🥰🙏❤️
yep it's Monday...yeppers it's happen to me to forgetting an ingridenent or 2....looks good..thanks Theresa and Paula always making great stuff... thanks Eddie have a great day and be safe !!!!
Hey Ms. Paula, this looks SO GOOD! I would LOVE to request the recipe for your Family Kitchen’s Candied Yams or the BBQ Ribs in Dr. Pepper! They are incredible.❤️🍠
I do indeed forget things like that and if I'm lucky I remember in time to pour it out and mix it in. Once I had made 5 pounds of hamburger into meatloafs; the minute I slide the pan into the oven I remembered I hadn't added onion. Back out in the my big bowl and a quick add, before putting it back in the oven. Thank goodness I remembered!
Looks great! I'll definitely have to make it. I've made it with heavy cream, never buttermilk, but I'll try it. Oh and I use beef broth instead of chicken broth. I'll try your way. 😊
@@annskaggs4475 I know what it was used for. I watched the entire video. I stated that I've used heavy cream instead of buttermilk. My brain works just fine, thank you! I'm wondering about your though. Have a blessed day! 😊
With fall right around the corner, I would love for you to please share recipes with squash, pumpkin, or apples. I always get excited for this time of year.
Beef Stroganoff is one of my all time fav. dishes. Paula has taken it to another level. Can't wait to try her recipe. Hope ya'll have a great week ahead! God bless!
Yes Paula we do things like that. I once put a pie in the oven and within a couple minutes realized I left out the main ingredient, so pulled it out, dumped it back in a mixing bowl and put back into the oven! All was not lost, but close! LOL! I also once put a casserole in the frig instead of the oven, family was so disappointed at real-time!😳 I was devastated. 😬
Making this for dinner tomorrow night. My daughter is super picky but she loves ranch and sour cream and noodles! I'll half the cheese {she doesn't like melted cheese) and she can pick out the meat. But it actually looks like something she will like!
I make mine very similar with 2 differences. I stir the sour cream into the pot of beef mixture (not the noodles); I use beef broth and Monterey Jack shredded cheese. Never heard of using mozzarella.
Chef Paula this looms so delicious I always wanted a good stroganoff recipe. You always put the best out there , and with a good mood and laughter. I like how You said first Your mind then Your clothes than Your money😁
Mom made me old school beef stroganoff with pieces of beef. Probably the original recipe. Paula would it make sense to add beef broth (consommé) instead of chicken?
Thank you for the real video - everyone makes mistakes and it's all o.k I love your words "first your mind, then your clothes, then your money!" You are a delight!!
Looks lovely Paula ..... I make stroganoff with either rump or fillet and I strip it and then cook it with some cream of mushroom soup or from scratch with fresh cream, milk, and flour. Served ontop of either pasta or mashed potatoes. I am definitly gonna give this recipe a try
So happy I got to see this today, Thanks for sharing the recipes. Going from houseful of teenagers to cooking for 2. So happy the grandchildren are making friends and we can get excited to cook again. Or have them learn to cook for me Hahahahahaha. Have wonderful Holiday season Everyone
Hey Paula do you ever use the fireplace in your kitchen? Love it so much!! Curious as to what made you add it to the kitchen when you guys built your place?
oh Paula.. I miss the old days when you and Aunt Peggy would go fishin and y’all would make those wonderful little cornbread muffins shaped like fish! .. that catfish always looked dee lish!
Love the big bucket! You are only human sweet lady. I forget all the time. I thought maybe you were going to make a salad with ranch to go along with it. Yummy. Thanks!
One time I totally messed up baking blueberry muffins - I was doubling the recipe but halfway through forgot, and stopped doubling ingredients, so some things were twice as much as the original recipe for and some things weren’t enough... and when they came out of the oven they tasted fabulous but were extremely heavy and dense... I had promised some friends I would share and I was embarrassed to share these, but they insisted... and then proceeded to tell me they were the best blueberry muffins they’d ever had and to make more and do whatever I did wrong, again!!! Of course I couldn’t replicate it since I wasn’t entirely sure where/what I messed up but I was glad to know it turned out ok anyway 🤣
Do y'all ever miss whole ingredients or whole steps while you cook?
All the time....but I blame it on "chemo brain"!!!! 🤣💜
Cooking not so much but baking. I forget the salt in the bread dough or the baking powder in the cake. It's madness in my brain.
On a cookie recipe I once left out a cup of flour!! Lol
Yes, it's happened before. Luckily not too often. I now read the recipe SEVERAL times!!! 😂
Hello mam 🙏
I have had cakes baking in the oven and realized I had a whole cup of something left out on the counter waiting to go in the mix. Nice to see the "real" moments shared with us all. Makes us all feel a little more "normal". You are a delight Paula. 🇨🇦
We’ve all done it. And not just in baking but in mechanics too!

I'll tell you what really warms my heart is that I am not the only person who goes ahead and grabs another pot to mix it up again lol
I make stroganoff with ground beef but use beef broth with a flour slurry to thicken, not chicken broth. I don't add any cheese. A great, homemade one pot meal.
I actually never heard of adding cheese either.
The beef broth sounds better.

Paula, I love how you keep things real in your kitchen. Yes we forget ingredients, mess up, end up with messy counters and floor. Things happen...
Love everything Southern living, especially Paula Deen.
We're only human! Thanks for being direct to the recipe.

I have done that. Making peach cobbler. Forgot the melted butter so I gently folded it in. Turned out great. Can't duplicate it.

Looks delicious! I must try this. I Like casserole meals. Enjoyed.
Your casserole looks absolutely delicious!! Can’t wait to make this casserole!!
I so enjoy watching you cook!
Paula I cannot tell you how happy I am to see that you are doing great. I just found these videos and so happy that I did.
MAN!!
Nothing like a mound of melty cheese home cooking to make a person happy!

I love beef stroganoff! I want to try this recipe. Thank you!
Thanks for the recipe. Really looks tasty 😋
She’s the best. I thought she was serving a salad with the stroganoff, so she made ranch. 😂 love her so much!

That looks wonderful Paula! I love one pot casseroles, it says cozy and Fall to me up here in the North, SE MI.
Never heard of chicken broth and mozzarella cheese in stroganoff! But sure looks good.

the ranch is what makes it :)
How about a couple of good shots of Worcestershire sauce in the ranch dressing. That really brings a great flavor to the party.
Definitely going to be making this recipe! Looks delicious :)
Me too looks great
I make mine very similar with 2 differences. I stir the sour cream into the pot of beef mixture (not the noodles); I use beef broth and Monterey Jack shredded cheese. Never heard of using mozzarella.

My family doesn't like Ranch dressing, can I just use extra sour cream instead? This looks delicious and I want to make it next week.
I use a cut up roasted tender chuck roast for stroganoff and beef broth for beef dishes. I have never seen beef stroganoff made that way😳
I always wonder why they use chicken broth in beef dishes...I use beef broth and chicken dishes get chicken broth, lol 😆
@@grammyb3548 I always use chicken broth from a package or fresh because beef broth is much more expensive where I live
Well now you've seen it.😎
That looks really good Paula

Looks delicious~ and I love Beef Stroganoff. But curious, why you used chicken stock and not beef stock? Let me know Paula. Thanks!
