Sound is awesome I think it’s better than before n appears to be a little higher resolution on my tv it’s a 65”.. super cool that you’re not pressed for time like before.. killer advice, you are truly a master…I figured out several reasons for the problems I been having with thinning from your in depth explanation on this biface I’m super glad you did this..also last week you mentioned making a spokeshave the reason I’ve bugged you with it is, as you know I’m a carpenter & the spokeshave is one of the oldest woodworking tool I know of & the fact that I know you want to Lean into that area with the videos I wanted to remind you in case you forgot..anyway sorry for the book but I really think highly of you n your skills & I’m proud to just try n follow your teachings n maybe I might become somewhat “CRAFTY one day have a good one n please keep the videos coming Another crafty hope2b
Audio is fine, BUT I'd appreciate the left and right audio channels being merged into mono. With headphones on your voice is waving all over the place as you move your head.
I’ve seen a few other videos on this topic but i always end up coming back here. Maybe because i found your videos first….🤷♂️ but i have said before and will continue to say the way you go about your story telling is the hook for me personally. Allowing viewers to see both positive and negative outcomes creates a better environment i think. 👍🏼👍🏼 two thumbs up
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. The resolution of the new phone is better. I'm one of the ones who uses direct much farther into the process, and to "nutshell" the reason is speed. It took a while for me to get the accuracy necessary but I can reduce mass quickly with fewer strikes as you mentioned at one point. I tend to work smaller and difficult material, so quick mass reduction is key to preserve material. I like the wider and more expanding flakes I get with direct. I usually switch to indirect to peel off deltas and do the more delicate thinning. I'm usually 5-6:1 but will do 8-9:1 on good stuff. Sharper edges so the stone bites the billet with an in and swiping motion along with kinda loose hold on the billet is my technique. I use the edge of my billet and not the end face so my preform edges don't crush from the mass or break the piece by delivering excess energy. Nice job getting that defect out...very good illustration.
First of all happy Thanksgiving and I know exactly what you mean by the fact you've done this so much it's then hard to explain but you do a good job of it. I very much appreciate you passing this knowledge down, I just bought obsidian and dacite for the first time and wow am I having trouble 😵💫. Maybe I need to start with something a little less glass like. Do you have any recommendations, I've only knapped on things here and there that I've found myself in Missouri and it's nothing like glass. If anyone else in the comments have any idea plz I like the info

I'm impressed with your patience with explaining. It's difficult for me to slow down and explain what I'm doing when people watch me knap
Absolutely awesome video and appreciate your artistic talent and your thoroughness in explaining your moves. Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving!

The new phone did great. Your audio is excellent. And the video is somehow always in focus and in frame. You must have a well placed mic.
