Many thanks Tahir, your video is very clear and very helpful to fix the issue on our 220i 2014. It turned out no need to replace the oil level sensor. Issue was due to battery jump start. Just scan and programing fixed the issue.

you my friend are a lifesaver. my battery was running now and eventually got too low the other day. i charged it yesterday. today after i did an oil change, i wanted to check the level and it gave me that message. just connected my scanner and just cleared codes even tho nothing showed up and now ok level reads OK!

Great video, I bought the same OBD reader and app, and was able to clear the code. Thanks for the lesson professor!

Removing the $2 oil stick in favor of a $100 sensor is where BMW jumped the shark. IMO is one of the dumbest moves by an automaker to date and why my 2004 E46 will be my last BMW I'll ever own.

I owned a 1983 733, it had an oil level sensor in it, but it also had a dip stick. Imagine owning a 1998 BMW, then updating to a 2004 BMW 330i and the dip stick was gone. Then purchasing a 2007 BMW 328 and a X5 and the dipstick is gone too!

Had similar problem... In my situation some wires to the fuse box in the engine compartment were damaged. Reconnected the wires and system worked after a rescan

A dip stick isn't best for the n54, a better senser is needed

Had same issues with the measuring process stopping at 15%. Turned out the oil filter cap wasn’t tightened enough. Put torque wrench to 25nm, tighten it up and then measuring process went to 100%!

this is not solution to be honest. once you disconnect obd, after some minutes/hours error comes back and you won't be able to check engine oil level again.

    • @TahirShaikh1

Error never came back in my case. Still running strong and able to measure oil level.
