      Have Vitus given you any inside information on stock. I asked on the chain reaction web chat about all 3 models and they said no sizes were showing on the system which normally means discontinued. I can't see how that would be the case when they are the only UK suppliers and the bikes have only just launched.

    I think another bike to look at for value is the Cube Stereo Hybrid 160. If you shop around you can get one for between £3000/£3500. Carbon frame, 170mm Zeb fork 160 rear and Bosch Performance Line CX motor with 750wh battery. I have one and its a great performer especially in the peak district. It loves the chunky rocky stuff.

    This bike really is the fairy tale ! I run a Kenevo and a Focus Jam2 6.9. I love them both for different reasons. The E-Mythique is all the good things about both of them in one package. The motor's on a par with the Brose and the Bosch Gen4. Yes, there's a rattle like the Gen4 or Shimano, but it just does EVERYTHING well. I have the VR model and for me, the Zeron fork is pants, feels like inadequate.

    I'm glad this option exists because on every (and I do mean every) e-bike video I've ever clicked on there were multiple comments about how said people would love to try one but the prices were out of reach. That being said, I was more than happy to pay twice that for a quality Levo and have Specialized dealers in every town ready to help if I ever needed it.

    Great review, Rob. Astonishing deal. My YT Capra was £2,700 in 2015 and a great deal back then. This is in another league. Unless you’re at a pretty high level this is more than enough for most and gets you into the sport. Even at that weight it’s not ridiculous. My carbon Cube Stereo isn’t exactly slimmer of the year and a lot more expensive. If this had been around when I was looking on 2020 I’d have bought one.

    Thanks very much for the review Rob. I love what Vitus have to offer across their entire MTB range, and the real-world budget that they've worked so hard to achieve. The reported financial struggles that CRC/Wiggle are experiencing are really gutting, and I sincerely hope they're able to secure some sort of deal that gives them stability for the future.

    EMTB Prices are realy spiraling out of control. Its completely crazy. 2 good EMTBs cost as much as a small electric car. Its crazy, given how complex a car is, and how few components are in a bike. Also the amount of problems EMTBs have after just 1000km is crazy... the prices REALY need to get more realistic. I love this bike however I wish you could adjust the overrun feature. I often find it gets me into trouble more than it helps, I usually have enough momentum to get over obstacles especially with the power of the ebike. Where this hurts is coming to a stop (say in utah before a cliff ledge) or getting off the power to slow down to turn as I find myself pedaling on a lot of the xc trails. Any back wheel hops get out of hand pretty quick and I have gotten close to falling off rocks by getting up them just fine but wanting to stop and track stand to pivot or turn etc... the motor just keeps on going. I havent had a problem with this yet but pedaling before a jump and then taking your feet off will also put you in a bad spot trying to catch the moving pedals. Overall I love this bike and I could see how to most people this is a bonus feature but I just wish it was adjustable or able to toggle on or off. A bought the lowest spec knowing I was going to put on the new Rockshox suspension as well as some trp dhr-evo's and I cant recommend that enough. It really opens up what you can do on this bike. Great review!

    Good to see some entry level bikes again, the price of entry into emtb'ing was way too high.
    It's a shame we'll not see another decathlon stilus from 3 years ago - that was a similar price with a bosch motor, rockshox suspension, and really high spec brakes/wheels/etc.... for the money. I don't know how they did it as the bike cost a lot less than the components alone.

    Hi Rob, you make very good content! I congratulate you on the channel! I know my question doesn't have much to do with this video, but it does have much to do with previous ones... I have a 2023 turbo levo and I want to build a fox 38 Factory, in some forum and video you say that you like the E-tuned better and in another video than the normal one. Which one do you recommend? weight 70kg. thank you, greetings!

    • @RobRidesEMTB
      @RobRidesEMTB  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, I actually prefer the direct feeling of the normal one now. The e-tuned is slightly softer in the tune and a bit more comfortable on the hands (its like it has a bit less low speed compression damping), but it feels ever so slightly more vague in some situations (very marginal though and only really noticable with back to back testing). Either way you cant go wrong, they are both excellent.

      do your self a favour an get a ZEB Ultimate. Its just sooo much easier to set up how you like it and get out riding then spent months on Clickers... I had one for a Year and returned it becouse i was never really happy with the setup and always just endet up back on Factory settings... (also on a Levo 160mm). Now on a Specialize Enduro and Rockshox all the way!

    • @jfr2701
      @jfr2701 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for answering guys. I wear a normal 36 Factory grip2, not e-tuned. It didn't cost me much to find the configuration that I like. I guess it wouldn't cost me much in the 38 either. I read that it is smoother and better in the middle section in the 38 than the Zeb. I'm not one for big jumps. I like the rebound more when shooting fast, that's why I was hesitant about the E-tuned, which Rob says is lazier (slower rebound?). The e-tuned costs me about 100 euros less than normal. thank you!!

    • @robinraff1486
      @robinraff1486 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jfr2701 no he sad the E-tuned has slightly less LSC Damping (Softer tune) nothing about Rebound. A suspension Fork is not designed to be Smooth trough out its travel, in the middle to the end it should give you support ( hold the front end of the bike up) when you hit a bigger lets say root or stone. If you have set up your Fork correctly it should ride around the SAG point and be super Smooth.

    I hope someone can answer my question. Why does the Bafang motor have no freewheeling noise when you turn the crank backwards? Or rather, why does the Bosch CX have the freewheeling noise when it is obviously not necessary? Does the CX have any function that the Bafang M510 lacks, which is why the CX has this freewheeling noise? Or does the technology of the CX have any advantage over the Bafang without freewheel noise? And another question: Do the pedals rotate with the Bafang's pushing aid?

    It’s the Chinese motor that worries me even though according to the Bafang website, these are now manufactured in Poland which might mean better assembly. What’s the warranty like on those motors? Are they repairable? I’d feel more assured with a Bosch or Brose unit. One of the problems with mid drive motors is their not interchangeable so your stuck with one manufacturer.

    Great video, but I strongly disagree with your views on the overrun. I actually stopped riding the 510 because I found the overrun, especially from a dead stop to be dangerous. You could push yourself over a cliff if you’re not careful. I had it on my wife’s bike and was afraid she would be Injured. Also, this bike is only 36 V and that is going to take away some punch from the motor most Bafang motors are 48 V.

      @RobRidesEMTB  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @garyfuller6553
      @garyfuller6553 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RobRidesEMTB it was an all modes on mine. The motor came with my VMG Typhon
      When the initial power came on, there was a slight bump. It was not smooth, and then the overrun was in all settings, and made it borderline dangerous.
      I have several of the new M560 motors which are much smoother on the power engagement. However, the overrun is even worse.

  • @hugov392
    @hugov392 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    To me, both the overrun and the lack of off-the-line sensitivity look like symptoms of not having a proper torque sensor in the motor. I've found those symptoms on really cheap and nasty e-bike motors that only have crank rotation sensors instead of a torque sensor.

    • @RobRidesEMTB
      @RobRidesEMTB  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      No, there is a torque sensor in the motor, which is pretty good for sure. The over run is only in the Race mode (similar to the Bosch Race motor in the way it delivers the overrun). The torque sensors in the M510 work well. Its just been tuned to offer a smooth take off from a standstill, instead of more aggressive, instant start...

    You don't mention a large number of things: 1) Filling the shocks with air and damping settings specifically 2) Cut-out switch for the motor; does it cut out when shifting? If not, there is a sensor Bafang offers for this; some bikes have this feature and I would not want a mid-drive ebike without it. 3) Does it come in different sizes? The worst thing about DTC bikes is usually they only come in 1 size; affecting geometry for smaller and larger riders, and just in general with compromises. I have a Cola Bear; would you review it? Id really like to see what you think of it, with new tires, new front fork and new frame shock added; it can still be an under $2200 USD bike, it has a bigger Bafang motor, and the cutoff sensor too. It's a little heavy @ 66 lbs, but I've been having a lot of fun with it..

      No it's torque sensing. You can actually see the torque number in the app in real time. You can also change the "startup angle" - the degrees of crank turn needed before assistance begins, but you need an external box to edit it.

      One of the reasons I don’t particularly like the Bosch motor is because of the instant power as soon as you touch the peddle, like the bike wants to launch itself. This feature makes far more sense as the power kicks in once you are moving rather than from stationary.
