I've been watching mob video for a long time on youtube and this never showed up in my feed before. I just bought the book a few months ago, but I'm terrible at starting a new book. I'm so glad I found this audiobook. Thanks!

I've listened to this Book 4 or 5 times and always I seem to find something new. Peter Mass has the perfect voice and skill for this book.

Reading these stories I am reminded that as a kid living in Detroit, I am reminded that Detroit had several immigrant communities that were open to all to allneighborhoods ,we didn’t have the major crime back then. I recall being allowed to traverse all over the city safelyday or night. I worked in downtown as a teenager at all hours. I know that we had teenage gangs were there but I don’t remember any mJor gang wars. The first major crime I remember was the death of HOFFA BECAUSE THE AUTO INDUSTRY WAS THE GREATEST MAJORT OF JOBS WERE AUTOMOTIVE RELATED even the minorities were employed in the auto companies. The immigrants were working in the assembly mines of the city. We had a few strikes to update the union contracts.

70% of this book is BS.
Sammy is telling stories about standing up to Mob Bosses like Carlo Gambino, Joe Colombo and Persico when he was just an associate.
I also find interesting that Sammy says he went to do several hits, but it was always somebody else that pull the trigger in the end, and he never pulled a trigger expect that one time... which conveniently was always somebody that is already dead so they cant pin the hit on Sammy, and get him in more legal trouble.
