I have waited all week for the conclusion of this historic story. Sammy's stories play out better than any screenplay, someone should hire him to write a real Cosa Nostra movie
Idk...usually background music would annoy me, but it seems to fit really well here...I think its great. It adds to the intensity. Especially since this is a real event that happened. First time I heard the Johnny Keys story, the music along with the way he told it, was super intense. I think it works really well. That's just my opinion though. Some people seem to dislike it. I hope they leave it in..
Actually you're right about the music. I've made many comments how the music is in the background. The volume and content is perfect. He must have a great director and producers.
No doubt he can tell a story but he lived it so gonna be lil easier than most of the bullshit we have to listen to nowadays but great to give his knowledge he be talked about many years from now

Wow, how powerful a moment was the ending to this episode. Sammy, staring into space, choking up, saying... 'Toddo, I can see his face....'. A movie needs to be made based on this podcast, with Sammy in control of how it's made. No bullshit to make it more 'Hollywood', no license for whoever would produce it to be artistic. Just the nuts and bolts, bare, honest, following Sammys words to a T. I love listening to, and watching Sammys videos. Everything about them is amazing. For those 20 to 30 mins, I'm not chilling out laying on my bed, sitting on the bus with my earphones in. I'm there, in BensonHurst Brooklyn, or New York, standing next to Sammy. Totally immersed in the story. The only downside is....... the end of the episodes. You just want more! Keep up the great work Sammy, and your team. I listen to A LOT of Cosa Nostra stuff, but this....... nothing comes close. I also have a 9 year old Daughter, and one night while I was watching a video on TH-cam. I seen her out of the corner of my eye, sat still, tears in her eyes, engrossed in the episode I was watching. She was upset when she seen Sammy choking in the video! Some might say that I shouldn't be letting a 9 year old girl watch this type of stuff. Well, I do, and she loves it!!!! So much so that whenever we can, often at the end of the night when everyone else is in bed, we will chill out on the couch and watch a few Sammy vids.

Aww haha yeah these stories weren't already out there huh ?? He ain't done a bunch of interviews before and then his trial it's all basically the same shit. Oh yeah plus these self aggrandizing stories full of half truths mixed with bullshit and self serving af that all their full of nothing more or less plus some crocodile tears I wonder if he cried killing those 19 people and there's probably another 19 he's not telling about hehe fucking life is so unfair all those people dead and here's this idiot barely finished the 5th grade doing podcasts and shit gtfo
Everything Hollywood touches turns to shit nowadays. Even the Sopranos movie was turned into some nonsense about race riots making a mockery of Italian culture and acting like black gangsters are victims while Italian gangsters were just greedy women beating hypocrites. I don’t glorify the mafia. I’ve seen firsthand what it turned into but wokeness will just destroy any sibilance of a real good gangster movie this could turn into.
Sammy honestly needs to make a movie about his life. I know we've seen the docs and some movies about this hit but hearing it from Sammy's own mouth and the way he remembers it vividly is amazing. I would love to see a movie on his life.
I think Dicicco was making a move for the family boss and that is the reason he agrees to take out paul. He did not want the heat from killing a mafia boss. He wanted Gotti to take the heat, then later eliminate him. Other bosses would have thought good of him after killing Gotti. But he waited too long and accidentally got killed.
I believe that what was Dicicco was trying to do, get rid of Paul, put John in. Give Gotti enough rope and wait for him to hang himself and get rid of him once the other families call for John to get sacked. Step in as the new boss and put Sammy as his underboss. By then John would've taken the brunt of the blame and heat for killing a boss and Dicicco could come in and fix everything and look like a hero in the eyes of the other families. it was actually a really good power play, but he didn't take into consideration of Chin wanting to kill John and Sammy in which he would get killed by accident. But it does make you wonder how things would've gone if Frankie was able to follow through with the other half of his plan.
Anyone else have Sammy's voice ringing in their head even after watching the videos? I can be up making coffee and his voice is there,.... "bro what are you doing? add another scoop of coffee in the pot!!" I love it!
You are the best Historian of the Cosa Nostra would ever have. Every time I watch one of your podcast I feel like I'm sitting right there in front of you and taking in every spoken word. I enjoy all of your stories Mr. Sammy. I can't wait to see the Sit Down with you and Michael. Peace and Blessings to you and your Family.
@Account for Comment yeah its crazy how people worship him he is a murder and should be in jail but he talked to save his own but not a hero by any means
Mr. Gravano, great story! The funniest part was about the heart-shaped bed. I had to laugh at that part. Thanks for the story and this podcast. Have a great weekend.
Man, after listening to and watching these and his side stories, the amount of respect I have for Sammy is immense. If I could ever meet him in person it would be THE biggest honour and one of the greatest moments in my life.
You know Sammy, I know you had a "colorful " past but after listening to you I think you are a real man with real values. That might come across as comical to you but you really do strive to be loyal to your beliefs. You also have your ego in check and that is truly rare to see that. Love watching and listening...
Colorful ? Now murder robbery extortion is just colorful ? Do you feel that way about serial killers and baby killers too Andrea you probably wrote to convicted murderers on death row. You are nuts this guy scares the shit out of me
If that was true statement. He would have never agreed to kill Pauly. That is not La Cosa nostra. But Sammy was not real la cosa nostra because he ratted. They should have never killed Pauly. He was going to prison.
Sammy...You are doing a stunning job. Breathtaking! It's like I'm there on the streets with all the Holiday shoppers. This is so heartfelt and real and you are re-living these times before our very eyes. Thank you Sammy.
Thanks for telling your story Sammy. Much love and respect to you and your family. Most won’t understand, but the world needs more men like you in it. You stick to your morals and principles like no one does anymore these days.
Sammy I just want to say.... Ive never been in your company, but through this podcast ive got to know you as we all do listening to you talk about your secrets....YOU MY FIREND ARE A MAN OF HONOR!!! YOU ARE COSA NOSTA. I RESPECT YOU AND FOLLOW TO TO THE END OF THE EARTH. GOD BLESS. YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE BOSS.
The tale this podcast - this channel - has been building to all along. Amazing stuff. Sammy will be remembered for many things, but he will be LOVED for the work he's put into telling his story.
Sammy is the best story teller of this life. If Hollywood made these stories into a movie they would def fuck it up. Sammy needs to be the show runner and have final say on every scene cut . This man is a fantastic story teller. He makes you feel like you’re in the story while he’s telling it. Bravo Sammy !!!!!
i go back to sammys stories with the rampers. they were just grown men acting like little kids from the gang. there is a line in the bronx tale............ they aint the tough guys, anybody can pull a trigger. how about the guy who goes to work everyday to support his family? they are the real tough guys
His "passion" led him to break every rule and take down so many he claimed loyalty and love to? SMDH! It's hilarious when he tried acting like he never killed for money!! LMAO!! In the Sawyer interview he LOL about people he hurt and killed over money. Quit being so gullible.
Sammy, Crew everyone involved with Our Thing podcast wonderful job! That was probably the best production so far Great Job! And the way you told it Sammy from the Heart. It was moving and touched my Heart. I could see your pain and all the love you have and had for La Costa Nostra.🖤💔
I truly believe that when Sammy is gone, It will be the end of an era, they don't make em' like him anymore! A true Iconic figure of the American La Cosa Nostra, God bless you Sammy!

I swear on everything sammy is the best damn storyteller I’ve ever come across. He puts you right in the scene, Scorsese couldn’t do a better job at story telling! Am addicted to these… when’s the Sammy the bill movie coming? Wow!
After the Castellano hit, Toddo said "This could destroy Cosa Nostra". Was Toddo wrong or correct? What do you guys think? I do think Castellano murder did destabilize the NYC mob quicker.
Every once so often, something would happen and people would call it a watershed. I was watching a documentary and it put the blame on Vito Genovese for calling the Apalachin meeting, which shone a spotlight on all the bosses - this was narrated as the start of the end of the mob.
He was correct but not in the way he thought. If Frankie or Sammy would have been made boss, besides the skirmish with the 'Chin' LCN would have continued on as before. It was Gotti's ego that started the down fall. Taunting/pissing off the Feds by flaunting his status and boasting about beating his cases making them look bad.
You cant just kill the boss. Sammy always talks about Cosa Nostra. Killing your boss without asking is totally against Cosa Nostra. The Genovese trying to kill Gotti was absolute Cosa Nostra.
@@CSTam-vy7bp Angelo Bruno from Philadelphia was unsanctioned and look what happened to those guys. I'm not so sure Columbo wasn't sanctioned. The Italian Civil Rights League wasn't very popular with the other families. After that Joey Gallo wasn't made the boss. Gallante certainly was sanctioned. Can't think of another boss that was killed and the killers took over the family.
The Background Music makes an already compelling story even more compelling by ratcheting-up the Tension. Kudos to the Producer or Sound guy, whoever made the selections.
I would guess Taddo saw the young lions going into a feeding frenzy and was wise enough to get out the way before the paranoia of the power grab turned on him too.
@@em34ev3r I can't disagree. Myself the second I heard Decicco (even before Gravano finished the story) say he could never be boss because of Gotti's ego it was over. Decicco and Gravano should have nipped that bud. Personally I would have taken Gotti's head to Castellano and explained why Gotti was going to take him out and of course congratulate myself for saving the boss's life. Then maybe the purse strings would loosen up.
I wouldn't believe a word these people would say as everyone knows by now they are telling these stories for money 💵 it's all about the money for them all. Because the mob is gone. No more. Money they need now because they are to old to bully people and kill people now. SCUM I call them all.
@@weezy66 I don't I came across it and couldn't believe what I was hearing. I just thankful I didn't live anywhere near these scumbag's disgusting people
"I was actually inside Spark's bathroom taking a dump when Paul got hit outside. Gravano & Gotti both got lucky I didn't wipe fast enough or I'd have killed them both myself for hitting a boss. Crazy right!? Can you believe it?? Ughahaha" -Gianni Russo
I love the stories but have trouble coming to grips with this hit. Is this better than co operating and putting your cohorts away for life? From a purely adventurous standpoint it probably is the most bold hit in mob history! I guess better them than me. The gambino's really painted themselves into a corner at this point.
what a story teller ,everything is so detailed and felt that it's like being there when it happened plus the music in the background is very well done because i totally forgot about it after a while
Sammy I read your book UNDERBOSS over and over, until it fell apart, in the 90's. You provide more detail here, your memory/ gift of story telling is amazing.... keep going!.....RL, pgh pa
All of these stories are insanely entertaining. The heart-shaped bed and silk jammies part was hilarious. Also, +1000 for "He had this little bitchass apartment - or whatever you wanna call that. Place where he picked up broads. Playboy's apartment."
I know, even in the middle of a deadly serious situation, he somehow finds something hilarious to toss in the middle of a high tension time! Brilliant! He's right though, could you imagine the headlines and articles that would have been written up if the Feds or cops found them in THAT bedroom on the same bed? Oh boy, the pure humiliation, they never would have lived it down. Sammy's too fucking smart for that nonsense!
@@rpurdy4821 Sammy is a garden variety wise-guy mobster. I've known some smart mobsters. He definitely doesn't measure up to their intelligence. This is obvious.
Wow, Sammy’s account of this time in Cosa Nostra history is incredible, I keep feeling like I’m a fly on the wall experiencing what was taking place. I don’t think there will ever be another period like this in organized crime. I’ll be the first in line if a movie is ever made about all this, Sammy ‘s input would be an absolute must.
This...I can't even explain how hard this story is! Sammy you are a real man, not because of how tough you are, but because of how real and respectful you are. You truly loved Toddo, and Frank Decicco. Two legends. This story was so tense. Much love Sammy!
Wow, this is so much more captivating than any mob movie. Maybe it’s the fact there are no visuals, only Sammy’s commanding voice along with him being the real deal with real experiences and spectacular music. He’s on to something very powerful with this series.
Imagine Sammy and Frankie being forever immortalized with their picture in a heart shaped bed after getting hit? We would think of Sammy and Frankie in the bed like we think of Carmine Galante with the cigar. Sammy telling that story is too funny
What the hell?! I cant remember the last time I cried, yet i started to tear up when he talks about toddo. You can see he not only respected him. He loved him. In a world full of monsters, emotions do exist. Nobody can escape human emotion. Beautiful. Sammy is the man!

I started laughing my ass off when he started talking about the silk pajamas, heart shaped bed and mirrors on the ceiling
And the fact that he envisioned being killed and found in that heart shaped bed? That was hilarious 😂
😂😂
Me too.. funny funny shit!
Not going to lie, that was funny out of the whole story!!!
the fact a cold-blooded killer & gangster couldnt sleep without pajamas is the funniest part
Sammy honestly needs to make a movie about his life. I know we've seen the docs and some movies about this hit but hearing it from Sammy's own mouth and the way he remembers it vividly is amazing. I would love to see a movie on his life.
There is a movie called witness to the mob
Maybe even better, a series. Sopranos style
Looking forward to your sit down with Michael Franzese! Looks intense! Going to be EPIC! Can’t wait!
When are they going to release it for us to see?
Couple rats eating cheese. So interesting.
@@12yearssober So true.... lol

Sammy, your ability to tell a story is beyond description. You put us in that time and place, as if we were there.
It does make you wonder if Dicicco had lived how different things would have been. Maybe a 2nd Gambino boss gets taken out.
@@cgmoran91 I agree with you 100%. Dicicco wanted to use Gotti as the sacrificial lamb.
game of thrones.
Chin figured it out and planned to take out Frankie too. Gotti was lucky he changed his plans last minute that day or both would have died in the bomb

You also have your ego in check and that is truly rare to see that. Love watching and listening...

He would have never agreed to kill Pauly.
That is not La Cosa nostra.
But Sammy was not real la cosa nostra because he ratted.
They should have never killed Pauly.

Deep down, you can tell for the most part that he enjoys reliving these memories. What a crazy ass life. Glad he decided to share it. 👊🇺🇲

@@eljensen671 Paul wasn't the first unsanctioned hit .... self interest always comes before honor, I guess.
Incredible storytelling Sammy, fascinating listening like your there watching as it went down

I think it was deeper than just that. To him, once the golden rule was broken he knew the La Cosa Nostra way of life was done.

All of these stories are insanely entertaining. The heart-shaped bed and silk jammies part was hilarious. Also, +1000 for "He had this little bitchass apartment - or whatever you wanna call that. Place where he picked up broads. Playboy's apartment."
Entertaining, but most of his stories are bull, no pun intended.
I know, even in the middle of a deadly serious situation, he somehow finds something hilarious to toss in the middle of a high tension time!
