    Being a voracious reader for 60 years, this is the first time I have ever listened to a narration of a book I wanted to read. I'm very surprised to say how much I enjoyed it! I didn't think I would, as I usually find the written word to be much more satisfying. Thanks so much for going to the trouble of uploading this! I passed a pleasant afternoon glued to my laptop listening to it. The whole story is fascinating.

      Sammy was a "stand-up guy" who killed or participated in the killing of 19 people - including Alan Kline a 16 year-old boy scout who was simply an innocent bystander to one of his killings. He rated on hundreds if you care about that sort of thing - I don't - the more of them doing life the better! Listen to his podcasts. He paints a pretty favorable picture of himself and his mob activities - he tells a story about how he gave an old woman some vegetables - that must have cost him about $8 bucks! He got about the sweetest deal in history for his 19 murders and when he got out went right into the drug business. Yep, a real stand-up guy!

    The Oliver North thing was nuts for a couple different reasons. The fact that they didn’t have a clue who he was and the fact that they had no problem killing some stranger. I almost said innocent but we all know that Oly North is far from innocent.
    I have watched Sammy’s TH-cam videos since the first one and have really enjoyed the stories. Ever since he changed the whole format, I quit watching. I watched the first couple and didn’t like this new format where he sits there and answers questions. You never change a winning formula. Maybe that’s the reason why his subscribers haven’t went up and Michael’s,Franzese,have more than doubled. They had the same amount of subscribers with around 500K and Michael shot up to over a million. But anyway,Sammy talked about Cosa Nostra and how it’s based on honor. When was honor involved in that life? It’s always been filled with backstabbing,murder,adultery ,greed,lying,people dying for bullshit reasons or greed. Micheal is right when he says that it’s a “evil life”. If you are living in New York,Boston,Chicago and you are from the neighborhood and see these guys and may be thinking about getting involved in that life,please don’t. That life is over with and it’s been over with for a while now. There are way too many informants in the life today and those guys will use you for everything they can. Stay away from all that bs

Fiction audiobks check out "The Corleone family" it takes place in VitoCorleone's early days, and then there's MarioPuzo's "The Godfather" it has lot more insight than the movie, and finally

In the movie, Paul and Tommy pulled along side of Gotti's Lincoln, at the red light, and Sammy said he would shoot if they saw each other. In the movie, Gotti was driving, and said to Sammy "just don't shoot me" I have never seen a right side driving Lincoln, unless it was meant for the British market.

Gotti and his fear of Roy is well documented. Not only was he a top earner, he was the juice. He was Paul's top killer and I honestly think Castellano wrote his own death warrant by ordering the death of Demeo. Gotti would have never even pondered moving on Paul had Roy been around. Whoever the ghostwriter was, really made Sammy sound intelligent. I know Sammy doesn't know half the words used, let alone pronounce them.

    Robert blakey , the guy who took down the mafia and organised crime from the 80,s onwards yet no one knows who this guy is. But this one guy had such a big impact by making / pushing the Rico laws .

    • @kchall5
      @kchall5 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Blakey helped develop the RICO laws in the early seventies, but they went largely unused until Rudy Giuliani started using them heavily in the mid-eighties.
