    • @thedisconnect5769
      @thedisconnect5769 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@thethe7319 True but once you get to that weight there are more than just consequences pertaining to the weight itself. Once you get so big your organs take a big hit for a long time after you lose the weight. Thats why they tell you to lose it slowly so your system doesn't get shot. Not to mention all the loose skin and years its going to take to truly get a healthy diet habit established those things are only brought about through repetition. I do agree though, better alive and hefty than dead as a doornail.

    You don't just end up in a body like that. When I was around 200lbs that was from me over eating unknowingly (because I didn't know proper portion sizes) and I wasn't raised to eat as healthily as I should have. But now I love cardio, weight training, and eating fruits and veggies and I am still curvy, but I have lovely muscles and am toned and slim. THAT is a positive change. I feel 10x better and I actually love myself.
    I should have loved my body when I was bigger, but I actually loved myself enough to change and be healthier. I suffer from PTSD and anxiety issues and now that I'm healthier in every other way now, my mental health concerned those disorders is doing better too. I don't get as out of breath and I can run freely and feel like a feather. HEALTH IS SELF LOVE!

      Precisely, I used to be in the same situation pretty much (well, not "this" much weight, but still). It seems to me like she's trying to blame everyone but herself for her issues. I'll never forget a talk I had with a person I was doing an internship with, in our common "lounge" of sorts at night. He told me straight up: "Maybe it would be a good idea to change your lifestyle? Start running, jogging, going to the gym - anything?" And so I did, because it really stung me, as I realized he wasn't being mean-spirited at all, just trying to help me change something for the better, almost 8 years ago. Realization is the first step that needs to be taken, and it looks like she's not even there yet at all - more like within the depths of self-delusion, if anything.

    Fat people should be afforded the same basic dignity and respect as any other human being. A fat person isn't hurting others by being fat. Is it her fault she's fat? Mostly, but that doesn't give anyone the right to demean her.
    That said, some of the issues she complains about in the talk are entirely caused by her weight, not other people's reactions to her weight. The airline company isn't trying to bully fat people when they make them purchase extra seats, nor is the furniture company when they fail to make chairs that can accommodate someone twice the weight of the average adult.

    • @Lisey91

Gosh, grow up and take responsibility for whatever your life has come to and just move on, people are egocentric and judgmental and they will never stop expressing opinions, no matter good or bad. As a victim, she could have made this talk about rape and violence which are far worse than some bullying that everyone goes through. And if someone tells you to hate yourself, know that he's the one with the bad look on life, tell him to f**k off and move on...don't become hateful as well and don't blame everyone, including the ones that try encouraging you for doing something good for yourself just because they didn't say it in the best way possible...

    It really is a shame the mindset these kinds of people are in. Unless you have some crazy thyroid disorder, weightloss is doable, even easy. I'm down over 30lbs fom doing nothing but walking 45 min. 5 times a week and managing a caloric deficit (and hell, sometimes I even go over that). Surely it's a lot less effort than whatever the hell this is.

    • @AppleJuiss
      @AppleJuiss 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Dynamite Grizzly "Unless you have some crazy thyroid disorder, weightloss is doable, even easy."
      Ouch, no. Weight gain is caused by over-consumption, thyroid disorders only make over-consumption easier. They don't make your body a physical impossibility capable of breaking the laws of thermodynamics.
      And I agree, it seems like a lot of effort to have to, every day, go through an insane amount of mental gymnastics to justify your obesity instead of simply putting the fork down, getting up and going for a walk.
      's too bad thinking doesn't burn a substantial amount of calories, all these HAES people would be a lot thinner if you could just think away that tub of ice cream you just ate.

    Boohoo, people don't find me attractive because I'm morbidly obese. She's in college, does she not know about evolution and survival of the fittest? Being attracted to healthy, fit women is not me "shaming her" or falling victim to some big media conspiracy. It's a natural human reaction to not find a candidate that needs to catch her breath walking up 10 stairs attractive and instead favoring a mate that would run up those same stairs and then do a cartwheel on top and run up 30 more. Not only that, but suppose my mate were to make it through childbirth. She would then likely raise my child with bad eating habits and create an unhealthy continuation of my genes.
    Evolution is not wrong. There's a reason the reproductive organs fail in underweight women and why men generally don't find overweight women to be attractive. She likely praises Charles Darwin outside of the context of herself, but she should step back and think about it more.

    Why don’t you want to love yourself TRULY by taking care of your precious body and making it healthier?
    Why spend so much time and energy on rambling about how the world cannot accommodate you if you could spend this same time on getting better?
    Self-acceptance is crucial, and we have to love ourselves no matter what, but LOVING YOURSELF DOESN'T MEAN STAGNATION! Self-love means development. It means working on getting healthier, smarter, more flexible, kinder, stronger, etc every day! And it means taking care of your body - it’s something you have to use in this world every day. Do you really love yourself, or are you fooling yourself? It’s not about acceptance of others or boyfriends - it’s about you.
    By the way, the rough physical truth - if all the technological and social conveniences of our modern world were suddenly gone, a person this size just wouldn’t survive in the wild for too long. You ARE privileged to live in the so called “civilized” world which helps you stay alive.
    I do not hate you or anyone else. What I despise is our human faults and weaknesses - different ones. If we choose to love and keep our weaknesses, we are basically degrading. Degradation is not something we should glorify.
