In the most recent patch (August 19), the damage of all Ciel's black key throw moves got reduced. since the combo uses the grounded and air key throws (and some air keys could miss sometimes), that's probably why the combo is doing less damage!

X means more than one/any button. So with 214X~A, the X is there because you can do 214A or 214B, either one will work and the follow-up attack will still come out. If there's any more confusing notation, I have most of it listed in the description 👍
Are some of the tutorial combos worth remembering? I only ask this because I don't want to think the combos here and the ones on the game are both optimal and I mess up my inputs in between. Like the 5[C] - 4C whereas the game doesn't show any conversions. I play Dantes for a long time so it would be better if I could practice these instead Just picked up Ciel so this information is needed😅
are there any big differences in the BNBs from this patch to the current one? btw thank you for this it wouldve been way harder to pick up melty if this guide didnt exist
I'm glad this video could help! As far as I know, the BNBs should be the same, but I don't think the optimal BNB I included in the video is the optimal one anymore. I don't use Ciel much, but in the description I have a Ciel Doc linked that's pretty up to date (last updated Jan 14) and since the May patch didn't have any big changes to Ciel, it should have what you need in case you want to check over some things!
