Actually if you take Grand Prix Curcuit (also by Accolade, but 2 years older) that had exactly equal sounds on PC, you'll discover that sounds (and music) on Commodore64 were much better. PCs made sounds only via speaker for a long time.
I reviewed TDU2 for PC Format back in the day. I gave it 88%, as I felt that even with all its flaws and a poor launch, it had bags of potential. I was a big fan of TDU1, having played upwards of 1000 hours and even wore out a G25 wheel in the process. TDU2 was, more or less, TDU1, but bigger and more player-interactive, and an obvious foray into the social media scene. It's easy to see what Atari was trying to do with the game, and with the right backing and thorough QA testing, it actually could have worked.Sadly, Atari failed to see the bigger picture (to be fair they were having problems then), pulled much of the funding for it, and pretty much abandoned the devs (who later went on to make TDU:US... Sorry... The Crew, which too is a thoroughly entertaining multiplayer racer). The bugs and niggles never got ironed out, and the lacklustre DLC content just wasn't enough to save it. The digital clutch and flaky matchmaking were just two of its biggest faults. The misplaced thinking that the social aspect of the game was more important than the actual driving was a massive oversight, and more still, all the new "social content", notably the casino and player houses were lacking in substance, with little more than a few token activities to try. I never did win that Audi. Another hugely disappointing feature, or there lack of, was the omission of the venerable market place. No longer could you sell your high-mileage supercar (or any car for that matter) for 3 times the price you paid for it - That's how the TDU market worked. High mileage cars were worth more! - nor could you find a real bargain either. That said, if you tweaked the driving settings, and found a level of zen with the simply appalling instancing, there was an extremely fun racer to play, especially with friends. Jumping in your mate's new car as a passenger was a novel yet welcome addition, as was the off-road side of the game. It just needed a little more depth, and a lot more work on the driving model. Someone, somewhere okayed it, even after the community raised the issues during the closed beta. Compared to TDU1, the native wheel controls were abysmal in TDU2. The digital clutch being the most disgraceful screw-up. Someone should have been fired for that. Even the options screen to tune the settings was bugged, and remained so throughout the game's life. TDU2 had some fancy bells and whistles - many of which didn't work properly, whereas TDU1, for the most part, worked. If I was to re-score the game now, I'd would be pushed to give more than a 70% score. Then go an play The Crew. Holy shit, I think I just reviewed it again.
Test drive 6 was really my childhood memory, i had played that game last time almost 12 years ago, i could wish i coul play that game once again To enjoy my childhood memories
Yeah a Driven To Destruction spiritual successor with modern Metal music and game play would be great. especially as a Wreckfest alternative. Would be cool if it explores the story of derby style racing.
After watching this video I realized that a game called "4X4 trophy", which I bought at local market for 1$ back in 2001 for my PS1 was actually Test Drive off road 3. I also had two in one disc with TD 5/6. Ah, those early days of piracy...
the highways connecting all the places are a real places in middle northern Florida, I've been there with some buddies whom were from there ,had alot fun filming the movie for the game
7:17 I didn't know this was part of the Test Drive franchise! I'm from Australia and I just knew it as a game called "Driven to Destruction" and it didn't say anything about being connected to the Test Drive series ahaha

I wish they added civilian cars into TDU 1. I would call the cheats hotline and ask how to glitch into a civilian car, but I don’t pay phone bills so I can’t, and I’m pretty sure Eden Games has gone anyway.
TDU1 a game one of its kind, the only one I was playing together with my wife, She was driving Audi TT, mine was Pagani Zonda. A lot of fun from solo play. We're just driving ahead with Another Excuse... those moments so pretty :D.
They should make a comeback with Test Drive: Unlimited 3, they will deff win their game surely with this one since it will be better & everyone misses the experience of going to dealerships, testing & buying cars thw way you want it with interior & exterior colors, etc & the open world maps of exotic islands & not forget the houses oh how much i miss all that

test drive 2 duel is the firs car driving game i have played that when i was 3 years old in a Pentium mmx computer i love that game very much and i love that great music . and i remember at the end of the game you arrest by woman police officer :)) Game over man
Where I live, Le Mans had absolutely nothing to do with the Test Drive series. It wasn't labelled as such and honestly, it doesn't even seem anywhere near it.
I am an Indian gamer. But I do really miss my besttttttttt favorite game in the world TDU2.Its far more better than NFS games.I won't get it soon in 2018 or 2019 due to losing of TDU2 cd

TDU was such an amazing game
xLagis ツ That was my first Test drive game..It's really fun
Legendary MuRAMasa1337 same
Same
I was on that game for DAYS. Good times back then.
days!??! i played tdu1 for months and months until tdu2 came, then i played that one for months and months. still goes in nowadays in tdu2, wish they had more tuning options tho. one of the best games ever made by far. the map in tdu1&2 was OVERKILL for despite the year being 2006. is still one of the best maps ever made until today.
I don't understand why these games are getting bad grades..
Naej bc ppl that can only understand nfs played and reviewed them is my guess. tdu1/2 are my all time favorite games car/race wise. nothing else at least on consoles offers what they did. and horizon just looks good. when 3 releases i hope to god it improves on the last two.
Naej these were the. 80s/90s. What do you expect?
Naej My first Test Drive game was TDU 1....It was a great game...I play it in my PSP
Legendary MuRAMasa1337 TDU 1 is still my favourite racing game.
Legendary MuRAMasa1337 I have it 😁
I played a lot of Test Drive 2002 (brotherhood of speed) back in the day. The sound of the cars in Test Drive III : The Passion is so... ridiculous lol

PC Speaker in all its glory. We were happy to have ANY sound :) And now imagine how it was to hear a Sound Blaster 2.0 for the very first time...
TDU2 was superb
Mastero Flich The first Unlimited was better but the 2 was for me good enough
Mastero Flich I agree I got a farrari and the motobike pack on my 360
somehow my steering was unresponsive in that one
Mastero Flich it actually wasnt
I reviewed TDU2 for PC Format back in the day. I gave it 88%, as I felt that even with all its flaws and a poor launch, it had bags of potential.

Test drive 6 was really my childhood memory, i had played that game last time almost 12 years ago, i could wish i coul play that game once again To enjoy my childhood memories
TD 5 BEST TD OF ALL TIMES
Your videos always looks great and has high production quality, I love it!
Test Drive: Eve of Destruction was just so good!
Yes! My all time favorite is Test Drive 5 but that is because I grew up with it, alongside Eve of Destruction and Unlimited
Yeah a Driven To Destruction spiritual successor with modern Metal music and game play would be great. especially as a Wreckfest alternative.
Would be cool if it explores the story of derby style racing.
why TDU1/2 is underrated?
Haikal Putra IDK...TDU 1 is a great game...
Haikal Bild Because they were the worst games ever created.... Total Garbage (My Opinion)
You must have played 4 games in your life if you think they are the worst.
and forza, asseto corsa, but tdu3 is gonna be fucking AMAZING
not shit, at the time it didn´t have the technology of today
I absolutely adored TD4 and 5 for their atmosphere, the countryside driving felt good in such a simplistic but well designed tracks.
Wow. I was OBSESSED with Eve of Destruction. I never knew that it was a part of a series!
Daddy Cool It says Test Drive in the damn title
Eve of Destruction (demotion derby) was one of my all time favourite games, so bloody good
Test Drive Unlimited was an amazing game. I had it on PS2, now I got it on Xbox 360.
After watching this video I realized that a game called "4X4 trophy", which I bought at local market for 1$ back in 2001 for my PS1 was actually Test Drive off road 3. I also had two in one disc with TD 5/6. Ah, those early days of piracy...
I heard there could me a Test Drive Unlimited 3. I hope it's true and I hope it's just as good as unlimited 2 or even better
Cody Colosi Nah tdu2 was trash . tdu was so goos
Cody Colosi unlimited 2 was straight trash.
just need to improve the handling
If they would do this, it will not be made by Eden Games. The studio stopped making games in 2012.
Holyjin tdu2 was awsome
Test drive eve of destruction on ps2 was one of the best game, i'm still remember playing hours and hours of that game.
Ah, I had Test Drive 5, but disc broke. Those were the old good times.
Test Drive Eve of Destruction soaked up many of my free hours as a child. Those bus demolitions brought me back
I used to watch my older brother play Test Drive Off-Road 2 all the time when I was younger
Damn, Eve of Destruction still holds up today! That game was my favorite back in the day, just a perfect demo derby game with stunning visuals.
I dunno why, but I really love those oldschool tires sound (example: TD4, TD5)
TDU is my favorite with TDU 2 being a huge disappointment. Luckily Forza Horizon 3 is holding me over in today's racers.
Strohhut Gameplays ever played the crew? its nearly identic with TDU.
DRIVECLUB is the best racer
Singen Klatschen Kiffen Because some of the TDU devs also worked on The Crew
I loved this game
Cameron Sharif tdu2 was awsome
2020 test Drive solar crown
Eve of destruction was the best
31jeffburton you are fuckin right
31jeffburton Hell yeah it is, I still have it lol
the highways connecting all the places are a real places in middle northern Florida, I've been there with some buddies whom were from there ,had alot fun filming the movie for the game
Still waiting for tdu3, but forza horizon 1-3 is pretty close
We are getting tdu SOLAR CROWN
Eve of Destruction was my childhood.
Such a gem.
7:14 is my childhood! I loved this game a lot and for its time it was simply fantastic
Eve of Destruction!!!
Now you gotta update it with test drive solar crown!
Test Drive was such an amazing series. It's a shame it didn't continue.
Sachi from SAO Episode 3 New company bought the rights to make a new one
Test Drive Unlimited is my favorite!! Love PS2!
Test drive 5 was the best honestly
test drive off road wide open! am I the only one that loved that one?
Still have #5 and Eve Of Destruction; my two favorites of the series.
Eve of destruction is my fav game
TD: Eve of destruction was the best!
I used to play td6 as a kid
I didn't know how to read so i used to quit the game sometimes and wondered what happened
Nostalgia...
One of the best TH-cam series, "The history of" (My opinion plz take this to a good fact)
Test Drive 4 was one of few influential games i had as a child.
7:17
I didn't know this was part of the Test Drive franchise! I'm from Australia and I just knew it as a game called "Driven to Destruction" and it didn't say anything about being connected to the Test Drive series ahaha
Test drive off road 2 was my childhood
Me too 😄
Test Drive 2: The Duel on the Commodore 64, on cassette was my first game and I was 11.
Swear I heard Tiff Needels voice in Test Drive LeMans, also in TDU 2 i do like how the 3rd person speedo matches the cars one
Commodore 64 Test Drive was the game that got me into cars, played this game to death and still have a copy.
td4, td 2002, and td eod. my childhood right there
Test Drive Eve of Destruction FTW

I wish they added civilian cars into TDU 1. I would call the cheats hotline and ask how to glitch into a civilian car, but I don’t pay phone bills so I can’t, and I’m pretty sure Eden Games has gone anyway.
TDU1 a game one of its kind, the only one I was playing together with my wife, She was driving Audi TT, mine was Pagani Zonda. A lot of fun from solo play. We're just driving ahead with Another Excuse... those moments so pretty :D.
heavy dose of nostalgia with this one.
This is very good Work
I've play TDU 1 on PS2, the graphic are stunning. The handling are realistic, planning to get TDU 2 on my XBox 360.
Fai 1699 you should get TDU 1 for 360 aswell i played it first on PS2 but the 360 version is so much better its insane
@@Spirreli nah just get the pc version instead it supports better resolutions than both however that depends on your monitor!
They should make a comeback with Test Drive: Unlimited 3, they will deff win their game surely with this one since it will be better & everyone misses the experience of going to dealerships, testing & buying cars thw way you want it with interior & exterior colors, etc & the open world maps of exotic islands & not forget the houses oh how much i miss all that
I can't believe how bad the draw distance was on the early games. No wonder the driver in "Off Road" kept hitting the barrels. TDU was my first and the one I had most fun with. TDU2 didn't seem to have the same online community and I never enjoyed that so much.
Can't wait for test drive unlimited 3 😎
Test Drive Unlimited 3... Please make it happen!
TDU is such a beautiful looking game the texture is like heaven it is like a God the game is an Elite on the graphics and the cars there on the game are a masterpiece if I had the game I would love to do a big gameplay on there and it would be so much fun but I hope the solar crown one that has like a trailer on it better be real because if it isnt then that is going to be trash a hell of it I hope fingers crossed it better come true
i want back test drive off road series, for me the best was off road 3
but we need phone to download the game
Like it or not, Test Drive set the gold standard for racing games, even today when the games are long gone, you can stil feel it in the crew or forza horizon and NFS
Most of TD games have bad things.
test drive 5 was my first racing game :D
Same I never got too far with it though, probably didn’t have a proper memory card or I was just bad at it.
Td offroad 3 was basically the start of my gaming career
Test Drive 6 and Test Drive Off-Road 3.. damn I feel old watching this..
I played all TD games released on PC/PS in times of their release (except first 3 and TDU 2).
What happen to Atari?
Atari is dead...
Cousin Stanley and came back
J adam Racer 649 They Nearly Went Out Of Business And Are Getting Back On Their Feet

test drive 2 duel is the firs car driving game i have played that when i was 3 years old in a Pentium mmx computer i love that game very much and i love that great music . and i remember at the end of the game you arrest by woman police officer :)) Game over man
Where I live, Le Mans had absolutely nothing to do with the Test Drive series. It wasn't labelled as such and honestly, it doesn't even seem anywhere near it.
Oh my god I forgot this series existed..

Wayne Randall yep from test drive to need for speed and now pcars 2
test drive eve of destruction is so damn good
td 3 needs to arrive !
Test Drive off road wide open omg I played that on the first xbox that's crazy
TDU 1 Needs Remastering with better road, more bikes and beautiful hawaii graphics
...also BMW
I feel kinda old seeing people saying TD5 or TDU was their first game. Mine was the original TD.
I had a helluva fun in TDU online though.
Nice Video
Test Drive OG in the reality virtualism of driving for passion.
The draw distance on Test Drive Off Road is offensive. It's so much worse in person.
There is no change between the Test drive, and the test drive ferrari racing legends
TDU was my first game and it was amazing
I am an Indian gamer. But I do really miss my besttttttttt favorite game in the world TDU2.Its far more better than NFS games.I won't get it soon in 2018 or 2019 due to losing of TDU2 cd
I still play Eve Of Destruction. I fucking love that game
Test drive unlimited was my childhood
