if anything i thought ROTS and TLJ were to show how the jedi were wrong in staying true to one side of the force, the only thing is that the last jedi was more direct whenever luke said a line, while revenge of the sith was more vague to some about what it was trying to show and some missed the point because of anakins "quick fall" to the dark side. I thought they timed anakin's fall perfectly, obi wan isn't with him to help, he doesn't trust anyone else except padme and she doesn't have the force, so what choice was he given after mace windu denied making him a master, (anakin wanted to go into the restricted archives which is why he wanted a title of jedi master).
I mean I felt like the entire Clone Wars series was to show how hypocritical and close-minded the Jedi were. Even before that, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II does the best job of criticizing the teachings of the Jedi. However, the game isn't even considered canon right now which is really sad. I felt bad for Anakin because everything was starting to go right for him, and then the only person he truly loved was possibly going to die. The Jedi were ridiculous and honestly kinda deserved what they got. I mean they took control of a clone army that appeared randomly in the Republic's lap while spewing they are peace keepers. They denied the existence of the Sith until the very beginning of the Clone Wars, which at that point was too late to stop Palpatine's plans from continuing. I mean talk about a huge lapse in judgement on the Jedi's part.
SpidaTron That's cool, but this whole "Staying true to one side of the force," thing. I actually have a difference of opinion. For my point of view (no reference intended) the light side is the GOOD side that is balanced, the dark side is pure unbalanced corruption of the force, the EVIL side. So in that case, the Jedi were doing the right thing to oppose the Dark Side, but to go as far as fear it, not even teaching anything about it (know thy enemy), that led to their downfall. Their fear of the Dark Side is why they were unable to see the Sith rising in power over the years. Also, they became like a puppet of the Senate and the Republic, giving up many of their teachings and values just for "The greater good of the people." Or something
How could she have survived? I know she is a loved character, but if she is brought back it will be purely because of the fans wanting her back. She can't have survived that. And all the people saying Vader could have saved her are poor judges of his character. He didn't care about her.
VulKus She was expelled from the Jedi Order! Get it? No longer a Jedi! Why would Anakin go after her? Where would he even begin to look? I'm not trying to argue but just saying.
+Dev Phelps In an episode of Star Wars Rebels Ashoka and Darth Vadar fight and it can be assumed that Ashoka died in the fight as Darth Vadar leaves the area after it. So, that's why they are saying that Anakin/Darth Vadar would try and take that life away.
So did Ahsoka, in a sense. She was horrified by the betrayal and all, but she did recognize there was truth in Barriss's words. And she also saw how the Jedi abandoned her without even really trying to defend her. And that was what led her to refuse to return to the Order.
Isn't it ironic that she saved both Tarkin and Bariss before this, but they are the ones who turned against her? Then again, they indirectly saved her life from order 66.
+Will M (Acclimate) Tarkin only cared about prestige. He said that he would make sure that Ahsoka would be put to death. It says a lot about him. I find it weird considering that he seemed kind of like a good guy in the Clone Wars...
@@preciousotoakhia9789 She's saying the Jedi are working for the Sith, which is very true since Palpatine is using his political power to control the Jedi and lead them to their demise.
1:49 the soundtrack with Anakin smiling and Ahsoka's reaction of sorrow and relief that everyone finally realises she is innocent is perfect. She has that look of happiness but disappointment in the Jedi and her friends for not believing in her. If I was in her position I would also have left the Jedi Order.
Ya but imagine leaving the only person who cared about you damn. Also poor anakin he really was the only one who helped her yet she still leaves him in turmoil
How sad must it be? To realize the truth before anyone else, only to be arrested and shunned. Granted, what she says doesn't apply to ALL jedi, she did glean the truth that they were being fooled into aiding the dark side.
+domidium True, Barriss was right, but that didn't give her the right to murder people and blame her innocent friend for the crimes she committed. Granted, I understand why she resorted to those desperate measures; she was such a conscientious student and loyal follower that, when she realised what had happened to the order she cherished, her spirit broke. The quiet waters often run the deepest. Still, aside from 'sad', I'd say her fate is also 'exemplary', in the sense of representing everything that was wrong with the Order at the time -- they misused their power, they refused to face up to their own failings unless forced to, and preferred to instead blame it all on the Separatists and the Dark Side, and even though they had adequate reasons to behave the way they did, their actions incited terrible reactions from those around them. No wonder it all came crashing down... :(
r I did not mean that she was right in the sense of knowing who was the single hand behind the chaos; I only pointed out that she understood the Republic was collapsing under its own weight. She didn't need to know of Sheev's true nature to see that.
Maybe not entirely, but partially. They did make mistakes during the war, just as everyone else did, and this eventually cost them their very identity. She is wrong to say they are responsible for the war, but she is not wrong to claim they've lost their way.
Barriss is right. Let's go through the most important parts of her speech. "The Jedi are the ones responsible for this war." They were the ones who attacked Geonosis. To be fair, they went to rescue fellow Jedi and a Senator but they were still the ones who launched the first strike, not the Separatists. "We've become villains in this conflict." Calling the Jedi villains is an exaggeration from my point of view but at the same time it's not entirely wrong. The Jedi Council betrayed Ahsoka and this was the episode that made me understand why Darth Vader considered the Jedi to be evil, even though I don't actually agree with that statement. Obi-Wan was the only Council member who actually tried to help Ahsoka. Plo Koon said he didn't believe she could fall but after that he just let her suffer, showed her no support in the Chamber of Judgement and didn't even side with Obi-Wan when he tried to talk sense into the other Council members. Aside from the horrible way the Council treated Ahsoka, the Jedi also attack systems because they disagree with the current government so from the Separatist's point of view, they're the bad guys. It seems that there aren't many true Jedi left in the Order at this point. In my opinion, Ahsoka's a better Jedi than any Council member but she was expelled in this episode so the number of true Jedi left in the Order has grown even smaller. Thank goodness Ahsoka met Separatist senators (I dislike Lux Bonteri but he was useful for Ahsoka's character development) and learned to see things from their perspective. She realized that just because the Separatists oppose to the Republic, it doesn't mean all of them are evil. In fact most of the Separatists are probably decent, normal people who just get a bad reputation because Count Dooku's the one leading them. "We are the ones that should be put on trial! All of us!" I disagree with the "All of us!" part of this statement. Some Jedi deserve to be put on trial such as Pong Krell (although he's dead now) but not all of them. There are still innocent Jedi left such as the younglings. I think Barriss said this more out of self-loathing than anything else. She's acknowledging that what she did was wrong and that she deserves to be punished just as much as any other Jedi. However not all Jedi agree with the war. "An army fighting for the Dark side." The camera focused on Palpatine to emphasize how true this statement is. This is the most accurate part of Barriss' entire speech, except for perhaps her last two sentences. The Jedi have become Generals and Commanders, making them official members of an army. Most of them are just pretending to be peace keepers now and are too willing to go for the "fight first, ask questions later" approach. Even Obi-Wan, who is perhaps the only really good Jedi left on the Council, is so worn down by the war that he's willing to use violence instead of trying to talk to the Separatists and understand their point of view. Also the Jedi are unintentionally helping Darth Sidious, who is basically the Dark side of the Force in a physical body, create his Empire by fighting for him and defending a Republic which is full of corruption. The longer they defend the Republic, the more powerful Sidious becomes, both politically and in the Dark side. The death of Mace Windu showed the Republic and Jedi Order's last hope being literally thrown out of the window. Yoda put up a hell of a fight against Sidious but even if he had killed him, the Jedi would still be considered villains by virtually everyone, apart from Padme and Bail Organa's little group of rebel Senators, and most of the Jedi were dead anyway so Yoda and Obi-Wan would have had to rebuild a new Jedi Order almost from scratch. "Fallen from the Light that we once held so dear." There were Jedi who fell to the Dark side in the Clone Wars such as Pong Krell and of course Barriss herself. Also Jedi Council Member Mace Windu, in addition to representing everything wrong with the Jedi Order, spends most of his life being dangerously close to the Dark side which is why he developed Vaapad. As the second most important member of the Council, Windu's own corruption seems to be spreading to the other Council Members. "This Republic is failing! It's only a matter of time!" The Republic will be destroyed within the next few months. I wonder if Barriss has any idea of just how little time the Republic has left? The Jedi are too fucking arrogant to see how right Barriss is. Only Ahsoka actually took her words to heart and that's what saved her from Order 66 and the Jedi Purge. I wish we knew what happened to Barriss after this episode. She may have been a nutcase but apart from Ahsoka, she's my favourite character in the Clone Wars.
Brilliant analysis! Even though it's unlikely, now that I've watched every episode of "Rebels", I like to imagine that Ahsoka managed to get Barriss out of prison right before Order 66, despite having been framed by the latter.
Anakin: Barriss Offee, meber of the Jedi Order and traitor. Cody: Slick's the traitor?! Vader: You are part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor. TR-8R: TRAITOR!!!!
1:49 This is what got me tearing up the first time I watched it. Anakin was so adamant that she’d be relieved, happy even that the one who framed her has now been caught. But in reality, she’s disappointed to have found what the Jedi have become, to realize how arrogant and selfish the Jedi Council was too for not supporting her in the slightest during her trial. She smiles at Anakin to show her gratitude but she’s now conflicted and confused as to what will happen next knowing the true reason as to why she was framed.
One really nice touch here is Anakin not saying, "Tell them what you did", or "Confess" - he says "Tell them the Truth": reinforced by Ahsoka saying, "Is this True?". What Barris says isn't just a confession, it is the Truth about the Jedi order.
They did a marvelous job with this series. It really brought a roundness to the series and helped me understand the follies of the Jedi and why in the Original Trilogy they were despised. And it really showed the complex downfall of Anakin which wasn't explained much in the movies.
If only Lucas could've put an explanation for this in because this would saved all of Episode 2 and 3 and maybe even Episode 1 in terms of motivation for alot of the actions that took place in those films. When I was younger I questioned Anakins line where he says that from his point of view the Jedi were evil but this scene basically in some ways made me appreciate the movies a bit more than I did.
Honestly the whole TCW itself could've replaced Episode II as a whole; and even though I'm a prequel defender; that movie is easily the worst of the 3.
@@AnotherOpinion695 episode 1 was more boring but at least it drew out the plot so it wasn't rushed and flat like episode 2. Plus it had less action scenes unlike AOTC, so it looked better cause a lot of the action in atoc looks really awkward and bad.
@@petch1707 I can see that but I'm bias because AOTS was my first Star Wars movie but I thought episode 2 has the Republic, the Jedi, Padme, Yoda, Mace, and many more at their peak when it comes to character moments. I also think it's the most unique film in the franchise because it's really the start of it all. Idk but yes the film does fall flat for a sequel but I don't think it's all THAT terrible. It has the most world building out of all the films imo but then again the prequels all together have the most world building.
Who’s here for the trailer for Tales of the Empire? I’m just excited to see what became of Barriss herself after 11 years of waiting since we last saw her being imprisoned for bombing the Jedi Temple after being disillusioned of what the Jedi had become. At least this puts the rumors to rest of Barriss being The Seventh Sister to which she isn’t.
the sympathetic and warm look Anakin gives Ahsoka here :'( damn. this whole scene is a powerful embodiment of the eventual fall of the Jedi but it's also a symbol of pure love and friendship between a master and his padawan. Masterful storytelling and writing
The Nerdy Guy Davi Filoni, Executive producer of both Clone Wars and Rebels, said the Grand Inquisitor is one of the Temple Guards present when Anakin Duels Barris and is present when He, His fellow, guards and Anakin escort Barris to the trial, and also present when Ahsoka is arrested. www.slashfilm.com/the-grand-inquisitors-backstory/
Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
@@michaelgualtieri651 I strongly agree with that statement. The only chains of a living being from reaching its full potential is the chains inside their heads. Like laziness, greed, fear, and much more.
Tragic and honest words from the fallen Jedi known as Barriss Offee. She is closer to the truth than she realized. A pity that she herself has fallen into the entrapments of the Dark Side and betrayed all aspects of being a Jedi by framing her own friend for the crimes she has committed. And now look at her. Even though guilt is on her face, anger is seen and heard in her eyes and voice. Venting out what she has come to believe. Does she still believe she's on the Light Side after this? I have my doubts for her actions are that of lashing out in frustration rather than a higher goal to strive. Rage before reason. Terror before honor. She who fights monsters becomes the monster she hates. And it's implied she knows it.
@@ladyriethegoldendelmo5441 Yeah, and Shaak Ti was shown being murdered by General Grievous in a deleted scene... and yet appears on the Jedi Council in ROTS. Something tells me that the deleted scene is non-canon.
the way Anakin looks at Ahsoka right before the clip ends just hits me right in the feels. He's so convinced that everything is right now, that he saved her and things will go back to normal now. And she wants so desperately for it to be that way but you can tell she knows that nothing will ever be the same again and that she's already made up her mind and just how much the decisions hurts her because he doesn't see it coming.
That felt so reasonable years ago. Why would Palpatine waste the talents of someone genuinely against the Jedi orders principles and corruptible like Anakin into doing terrible things. Glad they finally will touch on her
1:16 surprised that no one noticed that Anankin is surprised by her speech I guess this confirm that this is from where he starts to think “From my point of view the Jedi are evil” in episode 3
Good job, Barriss, you tried to stop an army fighting for the Dark Side, and ended up inspiring one person in the room to create an army for the Dark Side and another person in the room to lead said army. Good job, Barriss. Good job.
She did something that's more than anyone else can say and you have to remeber the Jedi order is like church doctrine to them . You don't question it and you don't disobey / question it
Picasso Marble Qui-gon was often at odds with other members of the Jedi Order because of his maverick streak, serving the will of the Force over all else, and he didn't become a Dark Jedi. Barriss is just an idiot here.
1:27 "fallen from the light that we once held so dear" you can see anakin is taking in barris's words, because he knows she's right. "this republic is FAILING!!" you can clearly see anakin being shocked about that statement before he returns to his angry look
+Cloud Sin The Jedi are falling from the light. They're fighting for the dark side... I'ma join the dark side~!!!! She is right though the Jedi lost their way, their lives, and the republic died.
+Cloud Sin how? how are the jedi the bad guys? when the separatists are the ones invading and holding captive? and when the war was actually set up by palpatine? lol watch the entire movie series first.
+EpicCODTechDude100 srsly? Barriss is right. The jedi order is meant to have peace, yet there are gunships inside their holy temple. They are being manipulated to fight by sidious. So they fight for the darkside. Ahsoka left the jedi order because she agreed with Barriss. Ahsoka realized Barriss was right and couldn't be part of the jedi order.
I love it how Palpatine seemed to get more interested in what she had to say when those words came out of her mouth. As if he was asking himself "what does she know?"
+StarKiller 56 Yeah i suspected that Tarkin would have been weighing the possibilities naming Barriss as a co-conspirator. Although given what happens next he decided against it. My main theory would have been that Anakin, Padme and probably the Jedi Council would have called him out on trying to further subvert the trial. Given the fact that Barriss has already covered most of her tracks and with the right incentive Ventress would have become involved. So he figured it wasn't worth it.
You can see that a few of the Jedi, for example Anakin and Obi-Wan actually agree with Bariss on some level. Watch their faces closely. Also I love that Padmé represented Ahsoka
Obi wan’s and Plo’s guilty looks (1:21) get to me every time :’) And after watching S7 Ep 10 it highlights how right Barriss was, which is even worse :(
Crap no, Palpatine's must be getting nervous here. Barris was right, her confession was close to Darth Sidious plans. Jedi slowly falling into the dark side is Palpatine's plan of overthrowing them.
When you look on Ahsokas face after she is found innocent, anakin is smiling at her saying "you're name is cleared!" But on her face, she's already made up her mind. She's come to terms with what she must do through the journey she was sent on. And now this is truly the ending of Ahsokas journey from Clone Wars, and into Rebels.
The sad thing is Barris really believed what she said, and I'd stand by her on that alone, but a strongly worded and heartfelt speech on an impartial jury is like teaching a deaf man to sing, you aren't getting anywhere. When her actions didn't bring her plan in fruition, you could see it in her eyes in the end that she thought she was right, as she stared at Ahsoka, almost begging for forgiveness. I could tell that, if there were any other way, Barris would've used any other padawan and it might have worked...but she never counted on Anakin's emotions. She thought all Jedi Masters were impartial to their padawans, even hers who was ready to let Barris die on that one mission in Geonosia. But Anakin isn't like most Jedi Master, he lets his emotions drive him. Barris saw the dark side in everyone else equally, but she could have never seen how strong it was in Anakin. Poor girl...
“Poor Girl”? Nah fuck that bitch. Don’t care how right or wrong she is. She royally screwed over Ahsoka, her friend and one of the few Jedi knew wasn’t corrupted, rather being a coward to face the consequences herself. If you’re gonna kill for your beliefs, be ready to die for them
Yea and how a lot of people were starting to question the Jedi order and the Republic. And I love how Tarkin is in The Clone Wars towards the end of the show. It's like signs that the end of the Republic is near.
+GrAff1T1xD3m0n not trying to prove you/anyone wrong, just trying to comprehend: So it wasn't wrong for the Jedi to fight; to do "something" against Sidious, but the error is that they sent more, more and more Jedi into battle?
Think about how hypocritical the Jedi are. They preach non-stop about non-violence yet they continue the war with no attempt at negotiation. They nag on and on about the sanctity of life yet they are literally breeding clones for the sole purpose of dying in battle. They plan a military coup against Palpatine in Episode 3. Sure, it was with good intentions but they didn't even bother to try to get the Council to vote on removing Palpatine's emergency powers. And the war was actually started by the Jedi, if you look closely enough. They launched a preemptive invasion on Geonosis, first with an army of jedi then with a huge army of clones. True, it was to attempt to rescue captured Jedi and the CIS was already planning a war, but in the eyes of neutrals that is irrelevant, the Jedi are the aggressors, not the CIS.
Well, then, Neutrals are absolute morons. As you said, the attack was actually in response to increasing CIS aggression, and the CIS would have struck pretty hard no matter what the Jedi did or didn't do. Blaming them for something that was going to happen, diplomacy or not, is a bit silly. The JEDI aren't breeding clones. The REPUBLIC is. This is pretty much out of their hands. About getting Palpatine out of power, you really, honestly believe that Palpatine would have been removed by a vote? Palpatine had the Senate eating out of his hand by then, with only a few - Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Padme Amidala and a few others - not being fooled by his manipulation. Remember that when Palpatine outright dissolved the Republic and installed himself as Emperor, the Senate CHEERED. No, a vote wouldn't have worked. Palpatine was too shrewd, too prepared. What WERE the Jedi supposed to do? Let the captured Jedi die? Refuse to fight against what they knew were Sith-influenced machinations? Let the Republic turn into the Empire without doing a thing about it? I'm sorry, but you're putting too much weight on people like Bariss Offee. She had some good points, yes, but she also had a lot of bad ones. In the end, she was a deluded person, who was unable to take the strain of war and fell into self-righteous paranoia. Its hard to take someone who kills innocents, then accuses OTHERS of falling, seriously. She thought that ALL Jedi were fallen, while its clear that almost all of them hadn't.
If you think about it Qui Gon greatly warned the jedi order about being too involved in the republic. He called them fools basically for being their lap dogs. He warned them about getting too involved with wars.
You know its sad. Bariss, Fives, The Bonteri family, Clovis they all saw Dooku and Palpatine for who they really were. And none of they're peers believed them until it was too late.
+master of ren Barriss didn't corrupt the grand inquisitor. After her speech he questioned and realized the Jedi had lost their way and slowly fell to the dark side
+Berzerk Llama Actually yes he was. By the time this season came out, Disney owned the rights of Lucasfilm. Therefore he was in this room. Look on Wikipedia, and don't talk about anything you don't know. K thx bye
my only issue with this scene was that they didnt show Luminara. if they did show her after Barriss was found guilty she probably wouldve said “Oh Barriss, I’m dissapointed in you” or just say “Oh Barriss” & left the room heartbroken
You want to fight for what you believe? Fine. You 're sick of your "fallen family" and you hate them now? It's 100% your right. *But don't kill a bunch of innocent people and frame your "best friend" to succeed , causing her to be expelled from the only home she's ever known and be left heart-broken like her master who loved her so much, like a BITCH.* Fight like a true soldier, not a back-stabbing traitor!!!!!!!! EDIT: Oh, and by the way Ahsoka is KICKING ASS in Rebels right now so, take that Barriss (and all those who disowned her).
Kevin Frost I can't really disagree with you on that. All I 'm saying is that a correct belief can be turn into a completely misled one if the way you express it is wrong or illogical or this violent. and that's exactly what Barriss did. But thanks to that Ahsoka actually survived Order 66 and became so much more skilled etc so... there's that I guess XD
we thought we never saw her again after this. but then, in tales of the empire she reappered one year after her confession to everyone in the trial. she saw from the window of her cell the jedi temple burning at the distance. and then fourth sister recruited her to be an inquisitor serving to emperor palpatine, darth vader and the rest of the imperial inquisitorius.
The grand inquisitor was among the four jedi temple guard escorting barriss. Her speech was a great motivator of why he fell to the dark side. I really hope barriss is going to be an inquisitor (the first sister maybe).
I love how the moment Barriss said an army fighting for the Dark Side, the screen instantly moved to Palpatine.
Storm Bringer777 And he’s like Me, what, a dark lord of COURSE not! *under his breath* Execute order 66

@@1.jay.soprano indeed
So did Ahsoka, in a sense. She was horrified by the betrayal and all, but she did recognize there was truth in Barriss's words. And she also saw how the Jedi abandoned her without even really trying to defend her. And that was what led her to refuse to return to the Order.
I hate Tarkin. Ahsoka saved his life at the citadel and he PROSECUTES HER for a murder she DIDN'T COMMIT. What a jerk
+Pierre Braud Heh. If you know what Tarkin will do to achieve his goals, this is not surprising to begin with.
Yep. He blew up a planet just to prove a point.
+Ricardo Fernandez Torres I kind of like Tarkin... But I agree with the Sith as well, so maybe I'm just cold and heartless.
When she says The Jedi are fighting for the dark side you can see Palpatine feels uncomfortable.
No, the look he gives at 1:24 is feigned. He was loving everything she said as it was a prelude to painting the Jedi as enemies of the state.
How does order 66 fit into this
@@preciousotoakhia9789 She's saying the Jedi are working for the Sith, which is very true since Palpatine is using his political power to control the Jedi and lead them to their demise.

1:49 the soundtrack with Anakin smiling and Ahsoka's reaction of sorrow and relief that everyone finally realises she is innocent is perfect.
Barriss was not right, she did not see that it was Sidious manipulating things.
r I did not mean that she was right in the sense of knowing who was the single hand behind the chaos; I only pointed out that she understood the Republic was collapsing under its own weight. She didn't need to know of Sheev's true nature to see that.
+littlejune131 But she blamed the Jedi, it was not their fault.
Maybe not entirely, but partially. They did make mistakes during the war, just as everyone else did, and this eventually cost them their very identity. She is wrong to say they are responsible for the war, but she is not wrong to claim they've lost their way.
"Up next: Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Ahsoka Tano Leaves The Jedi Oder"
Nah I don't feel like getting the feels.
I love this comment, Man.
+Tom Norton " The Jedi are too fucking arrogant to see" After all... that was the real problem of all what's happened.

How does order 66 fit into barris speech
"An army fighting for the dark side..." and they're showing Palpatine .
One really nice touch here is Anakin not saying, "Tell them what you did", or "Confess" - he says "Tell them the Truth": reinforced by Ahsoka saying, "Is this True?". What Barris says isn't just a confession, it is the Truth about the Jedi order.
"The members of the court have reached a decision."
"Given that it's a stupid-ass decision, I've chosen to ignore it."
That would have been the ultimate "f*ck you" to Mace Windu, if Anakin said that line.
Ohh my I know where that is from XD
They did a marvelous job with this series. It really brought a roundness to the series and helped me understand the follies of the Jedi and why in the Original Trilogy they were despised. And it really showed the complex downfall of Anakin which wasn't explained much in the movies.
I know this is 5 years later, but I don't remember the Jedi being despised in the Original Trilogy, on the contrary, they are idealized.
You know one thing that surprised me in this scene was that Tarkin didn't try to accuse the both of them as conspirators.
The whole thing is if you automatically assume one position doesn't that mean you are shutting out the possibility of another being truthful?
Honestly the whole TCW itself could've replaced Episode II as a whole; and even though I'm a prequel defender; that movie is easily the worst of the 3.
@@VigilantAnarchism Episode I: I beg to differ

@@ladyriethegoldendelmo5441 An update on her fate. Barriss is confirmed to be spared... to become an Inquisitor for the Empire.
the way Anakin looks at Ahsoka right before the clip ends just hits me right in the feels. He's so convinced that everything is right now, that he saved her and things will go back to normal now. And she wants so desperately for it to be that way but you can tell she knows that nothing will ever be the same again and that she's already made up her mind and just how much the decisions hurts her because he doesn't see it coming.
When Palpatine said "Take her away", that would probably mean that she would be sent to a secured place for her to become the Inquisitor.
That felt so reasonable years ago. Why would Palpatine waste the talents of someone genuinely against the Jedi orders principles and corruptible like Anakin into doing terrible things. Glad they finally will touch on her

"An army fighting for the darkside" oh the irony. She went about it wrong but she was right about the jedi.

The Arbiter Squidhead....
Both of Luke's parents are in this scene lol, it's funny because their kid kills him and it's kinda like karma.
You can see that a few of the Jedi, for example Anakin and Obi-Wan actually agree with Bariss on some level. Watch their faces closely.

Crap no, Palpatine's must be getting nervous here. Barris was right, her confession was close to Darth Sidious plans. Jedi slowly falling into the dark side is Palpatine's plan of overthrowing them.
Palpatine remembering his "Force atheist" past
What’s crazy is when she’s explaining herself when you look at Anakin’ facial expression he kind of looks like he agrees
He's already having doubts regarding the Jedi.
This was probably one of the only times in this show Palpatine had absolutely no idea what the hell was going on
The sad thing is Barris really believed what she said, and I'd stand by her on that alone, but a strongly worded and heartfelt speech on an impartial jury is like teaching a deaf man to sing, you aren't getting anywhere.
If you’re gonna kill for your beliefs, be ready to die for them
Well, it's true, the order isn't half of what it used to be.
"Take her awaaaaay."
awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
Take her blaghghghghaaayyy.
I have a hard time believing that Padme wasnt able to convince the jury of Ahsoka's innocence, much less "overwhelmingly" lose.
against the words of a dark lord of the sith, it is completely believable
By then it doesn't matter. Palpatine basically rules as an emperor without the name.
She was against Tarkin though.
The way Ahsoka looks at the end just shows how betrayed she feels, even if she'd been given a death sentence she wouldn't have felt worse.

Even if she's right, she still betrayed Ahsoka and that cannot be forgiven
"An army fighting for the dark side" Yeah what a hypocrite. "These suit me"-Barris Offee on red lightsabers.
shock troopers lookin like "I can't wait to kill those Sentinels, I really want to get one of those lightsabers as a collectors item."
Ahsoka was wrongly accused of attacking innocents, but then Anakin stood up for her and gave Barriss what she deserves.
And hear me out, this is the perfect time for Anakin's inner Vader to come out and force choke Barriss. (which he should've done.)
Palpatines like "Dang...she really figured it out."
She's right tho......
Re-watch the CW and you see many times it foreshadows the future of Republic
Maybe but her actions and her reasons make no sense at all
You want to fight for what you believe?
+Jen 15 Yes, but the irony, Barriss is right. They were swaying to the dark side.
Palpatine was really struggling not to laugh his ass off in this scene
Wow, Barriss Offee was right all along just look at what happened after the Clone Wars during the Galactic Empire's rise to power.
Ngl, this face shows how much she regrets about betraying Ahsoka. 1:41
Yeah despite what she did, she still cares about Ahsoka.
Palpatine after the speech "even i could not have make a better speech"😅😅😅😅
1:36 Palpatine: Take her away
Temple Guard: Alright let’s go Young lady
"Tayk hurr awaaayy..."
Palpa-Palpatine
Weird knowing that one of those Temple guards is the fucking Inquisitor.
Adrian Africa It's very possible that hearing what she said here helped him to become an Inquisitor.
VideoGameLova1 I know which one it is, it's the last one we see on screen because he acted most reluctant after hearing her speech.
we thought we never saw her again after this. but then, in tales of the empire she reappered one year after her confession to everyone in the trial. she saw from the window of her cell the jedi temple burning at the distance. and then fourth sister recruited her to be an inquisitor serving to emperor palpatine, darth vader and the rest of the imperial inquisitorius.
The expressions on Anakin's face while listening to Barriss' statements are quite revealing.
We know why your here
ye
Yep I am glad they are gonna follow this up
Yessir
Baris: The Jedi are becoming violent
Me: What violence? most of what they’re doing is destroying droids.
If you watch the Tales of the Empire. You'll what happens to Barriss Offee after her confession
The grand inquisitor was among the four jedi temple guard escorting barriss. Her speech was a great motivator of why he fell to the dark side.
I really hope barriss is going to be an inquisitor (the first sister maybe).
The Grand Inquisitor: You know she makes a good point, hello darkside
