I can't say for sure. Every year, we just used module builders provided by the gin that got most of the cotton we harvested. Most years we'd use the same module builder the entire harvest season, but there were a couple years where the gin had problems with their module builders breaking down and we'd end up using 3 or 4 different module builders in the harvest season. The last year, it got bad enough that we intentionally left a partial module inside the module builder when we'd leave for the night because if there was no cotton in the module builder and a larger volume harvester needed a replacement module builder, the gin knew where we had one of their module builders and would tell the other harvester and we had twice that year where we finished the last module and pulled the module builder into a new location for the next day, but when we'd get to the field the next morning, the tractor that was attached to the module builder was still in the field, but the module builder was GONE so we couldn't continue harvesting!!!
Probably mainly because of JEALOUSY... This was probably one of the most enjoyable jobs I've had to date... I'd LOVE to be able to do it again except that it's a strictly SEASONAL job... I did this job for the same harvester for the last five years he picked cotton but he was forced to quit due to equipment replacement costs combined with full-time year-round work loads along with family care duties that ultimately made it impossible for him to continue his cotton harvesting business.
It was but, when u have three cotton strippers coming at u one after the other not so much......my toddler son would b in the cab at times...... while my husband n two others would drive the 4020 John Deere tractors with the cotton strippers on top.....I remember that vividly.......n that was more than 30 years ago

I don't know why, people complained about slavery, food, housing, all paid for, and they get to use all this equipment....
