Great video on Lil B! at 7:55 you said to get a stippled look with a mag to decrease voltage, but I’ve shaded with a mag at around 5v to achieve some of the smoothest shading I’ve done(im still learning), I gathered that info from Thomas Carlie Jarlier and Oliver Ayre. Thank you for these videos.
Awesome video:) I actually got my forearm tattooed by Lil B Tattoo in 2014:) I am an artist and tattoo collector:) My piece was in his San Francisco video April 2014:) I also have work by Abey Alvarez whom tattooed Lil B tattoo side angel:) I have my leg done by Dave Paulo & Jose Lopez:) I can share that my forearm piece by Lil B Tattoo is amazing it’s holding up great:) I am also a realistic artist but only on canvas :) My art blog is the same username as here:) Lil B also does Japanese work too:) He did single needle on me he used the coil machines:) The portrait took about 9 hours. Abey and Jose are faster 3.5 hours for Abey and the 6 hours for Jose for portraits:) Hope all is good:)

Pepper shades with a 3rl then shades with a mag for more depth.

It would also be determined by hand speed and voltage. Lower voltage, high hand speed equals a stippled look as the mag would bounce across the skin.

In Cali prisons we call it pepper shading or whip shading. We do it with single needle, which he’s said he does as well
