Just incredible man! I can't even do a portrait with pencil and paper that good! You know I may never be as good as this or yourself Chris but I still use it to inspire myself and to build on my own style. Thank you for another awesome video and as always much RESPECT and God bless bro.

His gradients are so clean... crisp and soft where needed. His use of contrast is very convincing. When you say mag work, do you mean a flat mag? I also wonder if he uses any water wash lines for certain distinct features like eyes or hair... portraits have never been my strong suit but I would love to remedy that some day...

on round shader is harder to find point of skin so probaly its low voltage RL with soft push machine.

Incredible details, BUT how will the tattoos look after 5 years of skin ageing and and sunlight? These Tattoos are only done for the photo and the first few weeks after tattooing.

You should break down his tones and how/where he uses them. That would be so helpful

Figure it out on paper with pencils. Full saturation it will be easier to understand if you practice it yourself . That's the best way

Would you say round shaders are a lot better than round liners you know for hair fur details ?

    • @ChrisRavage

      They can be yes

Think of a round shader as a dull pencil. It will create soft lines if used correctly . Practice drawing use pencils .. micron pens.. you will find alot of similarities with tattoo needles

It’s very good don’t get me wrong but it don’t look like this in real life, a lot of top artist plus artists filer there tattoos to make it look more saturated, darker and smoother.

Some of his work are done in 2 sessions , the second after healing the first, blending cannot go forever in tattoo, the skin does not take it.

His technique is awesome but I don’t like portraits. I personally would rather a piece of art not a picture.
