With the increase in speed and walking distance, the number and possibilities of various obstacles, the curb of the stairs, the dog, the traffic ... by mastering these exercises, can be much more free and safer to move. Relaxation increases and the regularity of walking and less stress. Thanks Tara and a nice week.
Recap small base forwards and backwards 12-6 inches,Lift leg3 sec up slow march forward and backward, walk with side head movements right left up down.
As usual you are an inspiration! I have had primary progressive MS for 18 years now. I continue to work on my walking. You, Dr Tobias, continue to offer new ways to practice and improve. So many challenges! Your videos are very helpful. It is as if you know what my present gait needs. Thank you a million times.
Thank you so much Dr Tara Tobias for these superb exercises. These exercises looks very simple but difficult in my case. BUT I'll definitely master all of it very soon. Thanks again :)
This video came at the right time as I started to walk without frame or crutches I walk with fear as I lost confidence after 14 months of 3 major back surgeries that affected my muscle strength and balance . I will definitely select one each day and will train and train untill I am back to the world again .Thanknyou soooooo much Dr. Tabios as you are a gift from God to those who suffer ❤❤
Love the dog! One of my dogs is always following me around as I do my exercises. Sometimes they add extra challenges as they want the ball thrown or petted.😂
Thank you so much for sharing this, Ms. Tobias! This is definitely going to be very beneficial to a ton of people! I appreciate the ideas you've shown and the need to be prepared rather than hoping for the best!
When is it ok to wear sneakers. You are doing a mighty job & have benefitted so much after paddling my own canoe 8 years post stroke. Lots done more to do. You are simply awesome
I love this video for me for a change. I needed this! You are awesome, but my husband doesnt think so! He had a massive stroke a year and a half ago, but we are working on his mobility, thanks to all of your videos. We are working on standing, but he said that you are doctor torture! 😂 But he is getting better at regaining movement on his affected side. His most difficult practice is his spastic arm and hand. This video is so good for me! Both of my knees are bad, but I walk a mile everyday with my dog. Yesterday i stumbled while stepping up a curb, while controlling my dog who was excited about another dog! Great excercises!
@dougrosenberg6738 I am well aware of working out to gain strength. I used to dance before I tore out my acl, race mountain bikes, (won the Snow Summit Amature Cup at 42) bicycle 100 miles, do kick boxing, and spin before i tore out my other acl and the first acl replacement, and shoulder. But after being a caretaker for my mom 10 years, and now my husband, and as I have gotten older, arthritis has taken over, and pain is an everyday reality. Now, as a 5' 3", 75 year old woman, I do everything, including the things that my husband used to do. I know that they have to get done, so I'm figuring out ways to adapt. For instance, I requested a garden, vac/mulcher/blower for my birthday to make the garden work faster and easier. I got a long handles watering wand/sprayer to be able to clean out the gutters without having to get up on a ladder. I wish that I had more devices to cook, clean inside, and care for my husband, too. I give him baths, take him for walks in his wheelchair, and help him to work his arm and leg to restore movement. Luckily he can feed himself, but I have to help him on to the commode, take his vitals, record them and make sure he get his meds twice a day!
@@rehabhqofficial They allowed me to walk on stick with full wait bearing,do exercises as well. My leg does not have that much strength but I feel better piece by piece. On 8 September my fracture will be of 6 months period. That's why I asked u the question, mam!
Ms Tobias, I think I have spasicity . I walk fine sometimes I don’t. My right leg starts dragging between my knee and ankle. What exercises can I do to improve my walking? Thanks!
Thank you Tara. Very helpful drills. 2 questions. I did sign up for the month. How do I obtain the pdf.? Also, you’re not swinging your arms in the first several exercises. Is that purposeful? Thank you 😊
Dr , thank you so much for sharing the above. The problem in my case is have a lesion in my spine . Hence , i am not able to bend my knees when walking. Legs are straight. Top of it i wanted to know what kind of braces in my left leg. Please do suggest.
Dr , you are really awesome, blessed with humility. You take out time and share videos,( which you know) people like us face . Also, if we ask videos for the problem we face you take out time to prepare and share videos. You are an angel indeed. Love you loads mam 💗💗💗
I just started walking without a brace and crutch. I have to lift my affected foot every time I take a step because I don't have foot and ankle movement at this point. Also, I think my hamstring disappeared. But it took me a while to get to this point, so I'll take it.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your progress! I know this will inspire others to keep pushing toward their goals! Keep going and sharing your wins!
I have to admit, in all your videos, my attention keeps getting diverted to what your dog is doing. Which could be a good thing to practice with an attention distractor, which is 100% what would happen in the real world. 😜
Should likes to hear herself talk instead of getting to the point I have watched before and she has been that way before just goes on and on and so the getting to the point sorry

These people will not fix it in a day or without your hard work. I know brother it's tough but we struggle on.

dr.Tobias what if you hasn't do the first 2 years any excersise.
Are these drills also for people who have fractured their femur, are in rehab and cannot stand on that leg even for a second?
Thanks for the question! You should never start a rehab routine without consulting a physical therapist and your doctor in person.
