The on screen controls for the camera are 10 times better than using that new button but apple is the type to remove the on-screen controls so as to force you to use the New button

Apple brought a product to market that is not yet finished and if apple intelligence is delayed any further into 2025 which could possibly happen, it's probably best just to wait for the 17.
As an android user, I have to say the 16 Pro is a great phone for anyone who hasn’t upgraded in a while even with the missing features. But… yeah, they should have learned from googles P7P mistake of not promising features that aren’t ready at launch.

I'm starting to think phones are hitting an edge - the camera looks almost the same as older phones - they gotta start thinking outside of the box to keep people buying the $1200ish rice tag every year..
Somehow in the US and if you have maybe an iphone 11 it makes sense to upgrade, but so far the AI functions won't be available until past the presentation of the iphone 17 for the rest of the world lol or at least is what many are saying
