    glad to be able to listen. The game is always an education and one is always learning. I pretty much stick to exacta wins places. Pick threes are funs Daily Doubles are better. If I think I see a good Trifecta I'll give it a shot but otherwise? nah.

    Jon, Thank you for pointing out the stigma associated with playing the horses. I deal with this constantly, even from acquaintances and family members. Wagering success is ALWAYS viewed as luck, as opposed to skill and highly calculated risk taking is thought to be degenerate speculation. At this point my mantra has become, "Win in silence. Let them think you're losing." 💪

    I was a decent handicapper cashed many nice tickets but I had no discipline many times hit 10k or more and gave it back next day betting all stupid tracks p6king is 100 % correct if you don’t have discipline you will loose everything

    Within the first 2 minutes of this video I knew this message was for me! My Nrw Years Resolution was to NEVER cancel a bet (except for weather, etc). I wasnt 10 days in to January when I listened to some schmuck on TV and second guessed myself. My P5 hit. That said, i cant bet worth a damn so this was very important to listen to. Really enjoy the King and nevsr miss your videos but having Michael on was an extra treat! When turf returns to AQU so will I !! Thank you guys so much for this!

    Wayne here - Thanks 4 the show. While NYRA has excluded CAW'S from the win pool in the last 2 minutes, to the best of my knowledge they have NOT done that in the exacta pool. There were precipitous drops of 50 - 60% on combos AFTER wagering closed at Saratoga last year on a constant basis and I'm not talking about small priced exactas. I'm talking $100 - $120 exactas being cut in half or greater and $80 exactas coming back in the high $30's. The NYRA needs to address it in the same way they do in the win pool. This kind of thing drives people out of the game. NYRA analysts, NOT Matthew, shrilling how they're protecting the player with regard to CAW'S, are completely disingenuos and hypocritical. If they really want to protect the players they need to take action in the exacta pool also immediately. Talk is cheap!

    Another great show, Jon. You and Matthew hit it out of the park -- with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth -- like you always do.
    On another subject, those of us who used Domestic Product in the Pick-4 ending with the Tampa Bay Derby have a right to be frustrated. I understand that the race was run as a non-wagering event, but the pool for this pick-4 closed before the 8th race, and the Derby WAS run. Instead of being rewarded, we were paid the same as if our selection had finished last. This game is challenging enough without having to overcome obstacles like this.

    Yes great video about maximizing wins. Also you must consider the Ortiz brothers factor's when betting they are over bet & also the stewards are Leary of sitting them down when rough race riding because the track wants to gobble up the money in the pools Nyra is horrible for this even Gulfstream stewards bad 14 fouls claimed against them this meet & not one disqualified.

    They Key to This Sport is "Patience"

  • @Horseracingtip

    It's easier for horseplayers to handicap/wager on two track surfaces than three. Also, have you noticed how badly the handle has been at Gulfstreampark since they put synthetic in?

  • @Horseracingtip

    53:47. Get rid of the big rebates for CAW's and lower the takeout for all. This will stop people/gamblers from leaving the sport and bring new gamblers in.

    • @michaelsnow5149

      💯 This has been my solution as well, and my handle would increase massively if this were the case. Secondly, It's my understanding that the top CAW's would still beat the game without rebates and consequently continue playing.

    • @Horseracingtip

      @michaelsnow5149 industry talking points is the industry can't live without CAW's🙄 it's the opposite.

  • @Horseracingtip

    If you don't like a certain surfaces like tapeta, just stay away and don't bet it. Don't let someone push you into something you're not comfortable with.

    • @tupi005

      I agree with that. I enjoy it and it’s something where I feel like I’ve gained an edge because so many people ignore it. I would say the same thing to people starting out on turf too in some instances. So many novices just know the TC races and play dirt at first before getting more comfortable with turf.

    • @Horseracingtip

      @tupi005 most tracks that put in a third surface don't care if it is good for their customers. The more surfaces, the harder to handicap.

  • @Horseracingtip

    48:28. He has to embrace tapeta he works for NYRA. If he didn't, he'd be out of work. Most gamblers don't like the tapeta, so they don't wager on. This is what you should do. Don't bet when they sell you something you don't like.👍🏻

    • @tupi005

      I loved synthetic long before I came to NYRA but I totally respect and understand players who do not want to play the surface. For me it was never an issue and something where I’ve always felt comfortable handicapping all-weather tracks but everyone has their own thing. I do think it saves field size for off turf racing and people love betting Turfway despite the surface because of the large field size and big payouts. All that said, I totally understand when people roll their eyes when GP cards six Tapeta races on a 9-race card.

    • @PastTheWireTV

      I think Matthew was simply offering his input and how he finds an edge where others shy away. I think most seasoned players would advise to play what and where you are comfortable and do well. I did not get the impression he had to embrace it. I believe I could absolutely win the BCBC. 100%. I don't play because I do not believe in mandatory wagers. A fundamental for me is picking your spots which sort of goes towards what you are saying. We talked about passing races and sequences you don't like.

    • @Horseracingtip

      @tupi005 agree, to each his own. Most horseplayers I know don't like gambling on synthetic, and it's being pushed down our throat by incompetent owners/management in the industry who don't wager. It's important for horseplayers to tell those people not to bet if you don't like the product. Don't give them your money.👍🏻

    • @Horseracingtip

      @PastTheWireTV how many people working for racetracks are telling people on TV or social media not to wager on synthetic if they don't like it?😀

    Again. This channel never says anything. Only generalized stuff. What did anyone learn ? Please tell me. What did they say? You say nonsense. You never say how you pick. Sometimes this? Sometimes that? It’s ridiculous. You can win ?
    Value? You pick a horse but bet a longshot ? When? Show live how and why.
