    Just decided to go with EQA250. Delivery will take 6 months BTW.
    I was considering XC40 and Audi Q4 etron. At the end, it was about the additional equipment (360 camera, HUD!, electric chairs), but also the overall style and feel that was critical. Getting a little bit of horse power or a little bit of range is not so important if you drive in the city.

    Not sure where you get your price but it should be not much more than 605k. Also it's the AMG, and looks to be the only choice for 350 in Norway for some reason. The EQC with the equivalent equipment package is exactly 100kNOK more. One would probably go for the EQA300 if your budget it tight and get almost the same for 500k-550k. You get samesame qualities only a tad bit slower acceleration. If you don't need to tow around stuff all the time, be clever and get the EQB :)

    Hello Björn, thanks a lot for your interesting and honest reviews about Electric cars.
    Now why did I buy the EQA (350 4 Matic) instead of Tesla or BMW or the EQS or EQB ? .
    Versus the EQS, it is the ground clearance, this is a problem for me and my garage entry and also the size in the lenght.
    Versus the iX3, the size ( I'm coming from an X3 M40i, and i felt to big for our dayli usage) , then NO 4 wheel drive, no vented seat's and severall other extra's. Towing?
    Versus the EQB, nearly the same size as the X3 and no towing at all. Don't understand this.
    Versus the Tesla, build quality and the ridicoulus spartanic interior. I'm a big fan of Tesla, but I do not want to spend my €'s in this brand at the moment, may the cars build in Germany will change my mind, when the build quality improves.
    The EQA was the best option for my wife and me, the plus are build quality, size is for our needs optimal and I could get all nearly the options I wanted. It's not perfect in any discipline, but overall a very good "above average" car, and one of the best Navigation / Charging solutions (Mercedes Me) on the market. And don't forget, Mercedes is a leader in Electric powertrain's. (Formula E, Formula 1 etc)
    At the end, every one chooses his favorite car.😊

      mercedes claims the EQB gets no tow bar because of the 7 seater option, which to be honest i don’t believe and if it is true, its a poor effort Mercedes, as its definitely possible but probably required more development costs.

    • @hrrrrrrr2084
      @hrrrrrrr2084 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AOTanoos22 it's a possibility if the seat supports are located at the same place. Also, if Mercedes expects they would sell too few units to make that option profitable, why would they make it?

    • @AOTanoos22
      @AOTanoos22 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hrrrrrrr2084 the 7 seat is an option, even the 5 seater EQB still doesn’t offer a tow bar. The small cheaper EQA has a tow bar, obviously you expect the EQB to have one as well when they are build on the same platform! The 7 seater ICE version of the EQB (GLB) gets a tow bar as well, so there are far too many compromises made by Mercedes, especially at that price point…isn’t their slogan “The best or nothing” ? Im a huge Mercedes fan, but their EQ lineup is a poor attempt in what you get for your money, EQS starting to go the right way.

    Great videos keep up the good work however dont agree with the pricing you mention.
    You price comparsion between eqa, model y and ix3 is a bit misleading at least for sweden. Eqa 300 AWD with most extras non amg cost aroung 670k SEK, model y awd with similar extras cost 770k SEK and Bmw ix3 (non awd, apparently theres no awd) with similar extras costs 847k SEK.Eqc with a bit less extras non Amg cost around 850k SEK.
    In my opinion the 100k sek difference between eqa and model y is quite a lot. If you go up to eqa 350 throw in around 30k SEK still a big difference.
    Note also in sweden if you buy eqa as company car you get 10% discount on this price which you dont get with tesla (not sure about bmw). Conclusion in sweden eqa have lowest price compared to similar cars and premium brands

      Not true, the EQA 250 torque is 375 nm and does 0-100 in 9 seconds lol, the Polestar 2 base model is 330 nm and does it in 7.4 seconds and the weight is similar

    • @Pappadumful
      @Pappadumful 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toolrulz8005 What I said IS true in general, for BEV's and ICE vehicles.
      You're comparing apples and oranges as obviously there are more factors (weight, traction, tire size/width/type, electric motors, asphalt type, traction control system, ambient temperature etc. etc.). And a certain torque at 0-10 kph is not necessarily the same at 10-100 (torque characteristics may not be linear, esp. not for combustion engines).
      Put more torque in the same vehicle and (keeping all other factors the same) its 0-100 time would go down, was my point.
      Related to the Polestar: I'm guessing it has smaller (diameter) tires.

    Sorry, no, you can't just pay "a few thousand more and get an EQC". A fully equipped EQA vs. a very base EQC, but then you're missing basically everything you'll actually want in the car. It's always the same with these comparisons. Yes, adding extras to an EQA will push it into the general realm of an iX3 or an EQC, but only their very base models. As soon as you equip those the way you want, you're 10-15K EUR more expensive again. (And then you'll be in EQE territory!!) ;)

      @@razvan3062 Yes, it's been the upsell strategy for decades - and understandably so. As a consumer, if you first decide on the brand, you'll be in configuration hell. Rather: Decide on the actual budget first - then go look at what that amount gets you from different brands and their car models. A brand name and image might make you select a smaller or less powerful car. Or within a brand, you might have to weigh your options and wishes... I remember very well looking at new cars in the 15-20K EUR price bracket about a decade ago - and then going "f it, I'll rather have a used Mercedes instead..." - but that was combustion engine cars, this won't make sense with electric cars for about another decade...

      It's probably a bit confusing against Tesla philosophy where you get what you get when they feel like giving it. That is you don't really know what you buy until you receive your car. That is the luxury of producing fanboy cars where people accept anything. Not to different from iPhones. Specs are more or less hidden as it's 'all about the experience'. It is what it is and no criticism towards anything. That's why I claim Tesla's are not for tech people but for tech consumers.

    Not everyone wants a giant car like a Tesla (of any flavour currently). iX3, Kia EV6 etc. Some of us actively prefer the dimensions of a more compact car, to be more nimble and agile on the road, to fit in more compact spaces etc. I think 4.3 - 4.4m length should be fine for seating 4 adults comfortably along with a reasonable amount of baggage. But there really are not many compact EVs that also offer strong performance, 4WD, big battery,. and a premium interior. So EQA350 does not have many direct competitors size-wise at present, actually ID3-class eg Cupra Born GTX is all I can think of offhand, as and when that appears.
    Edit: Actually I forgot about XC40 Twin Recharge, which would be a good competitor too. But isn't that higher-priced than EQA250 (at least in the UK?) and in the present geopolitical climate I'm rapidly turning against buying a made-in-China car.

    It’s difficult to explain to you why but after having owned a myriad of other vehicles, I confess to have become a repeat offender. My last two have been Mercedes which were bought new, one driven over 350.000 km and still driving one with 270.000 km on the clock. They still don’t squeak rattle or complain and have been absolutely dependable which might explain why they are so heavy (not flimsy). I see little reason to quit the habit and I share all of what you like about it, so an EQA 350 4MATIC it will be!

    • @NO3V
      @NO3V 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which qualities of your previous Mercedes' do you also see in this vehicle?
      The assumption of quality and future reliability seems like a stretch with Mercedes' more recent QA and recall history and the EV drive train technology is obviously not what they are used to, comfortable with or good at (see efficiency, power, charging) so I wouldn't necessarily expect reliability there either.

    • @Trikkie87
      @Trikkie87 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      350.000km is nothing. My chevrolet spark(a 10.000 euro vehicle) has 480.000 without super expensive repairs.
      Check the volvo v40 - if it doesn't get you 1.000.000 km or more, your doing something terribly wrong or you are using it as a rally car.

      Yeah, well.. For that to be true (or at least financially sustainable for the manufacturer) the car has to be actually good so that residual values stay high.
      For a while you might be able to get good EV leasing deals in some markets because they are cross-subsidized by ICE-car sales / used to avoid CO2 fine - if you are morally fine with supporting more ICE sales is a personal decision.
