i generally dont see the sin in driving replica wheels, some ppl simply dont have the money to spend 3k+$ on wheeles or simply dont want to. Replica wheels are a good way to make ur car look like u want it to without getting poor. Some replica wheels are actually pretty high quality for a fracture of the price of the legit one. As long as i dont put Volk emblems on my JR3 wheels or try to convince ppl that i drive something i dont have, i dont see the problem with replica wheels.
honestly I don't even get what the point of having "legit" wheels are. like for wheels; are they round? do they hold the tire? are they sturdy? are they an acceptable weight?
sure if someone tries to imply their cheapo imitation things are legit that's worth the ire, but aside from things like that, I feel like the tires and brakes are significantly more important.

@@michaelkolano8686 Yea and tbh I never even heard anyone use this phrase besides Bladed, idk if its just his crowd or whatever, but I've never personally encountered it. Like, wheels are just wheels. They are made a way, and have a specific performance metric. That's all there is to it. Who cares if they're made by a known brand, or if they're a homage version made at a cheaper pricepoint by someone who cares less about their brand, and more about putting wheels on the road.
Are they cast, forged, aluminium, steel, titanium even?.. That's all that matters, the brand itself is just what you tell your friends if you want to. No one is forcing anyone to use specific wheel brands, or "step up to a minimum level" to be recognized. Dude I don't even care if the wheels are stock, if they perform how you want them to, and they match whatever look you're going for, then more power to you.
Exactly, reps arnt bad. Unfortunately some cars need custom made wheels and have to go that route. So do your research lol
It really doesn't matter if the wheels are the same quality. If the wheels look good, they look good. Simple as that, doesn't matter if they are rep or not.

I've been a car guy for 15 years. Had no idea rep wheels were even a thing. I just find wheels I like and that have a nice flush look. Wtf lol
It’s fun to watch bladed go through these phases. It was funny listening to him defend his car so vehemently. Some of what he was saying was true back then other points were head scratch inducing. In the end it’s his car so I really never cared but he was always super passionate and adamant so it is funny to watch him reflect.
Yea I've noticed this as well over time, how things change and past passions became today's gripes (and vice versa). I also think that's why it's equally dumb to criticize others if you can't even be sure where you yourself will be standing in 5 years time. Sure some things might look bad right now or seem strange, but maybe future you will have a different opinion, or at least a broader understanding.
Yeah it's polarizing only from an audience perspective. I experienced this change gradually over years, but a new subscriber will click a 2018 video hear me say one thing, then click a 2021 video and be like "yOU hYpOcRiTE!". Changing an opinion is part of growing up. Tons of TH-camr's and other influencers have this happen, and so do real people. The only difference is real people don't have their lives broadcasted to the world. Whereas we do, which again, makes it seem like we flipped on a dime since the viewer can just easily flip back and forth between an old video and new video, but for me, it was a gradual shift of mindset.
@@BladedAngel Absolutely, I’d be embarrassed if I had my opinions from 5 years ago broadcasted to the masses. I was never a “ricer” but jeez did I not only over use that word but I was also this fake car savant that thought he knew everything. I cringe looking back at conversations I’ve had with other people that simply must’ve held their tongues. Only after having to pull my motor and swap the turbos did I really reach that epiphany that I don’t know shit and my knowledge is superficial. I can always learn more. Just happy to see you grow over the years while I simultaneously grew.

I think Bladed should talk about Good Reps and Bad China Reps/Copycat. Some reps are actually good as a Enkei's or even HREs, just sayin 🤷 In that way, people don't have to buy expensive wheels for the almost similar quality, much like what Bladed said bout the Civic.
Rotas, for example, are JWTC certified as Enkei and Volks. Fitment Industries made a good video about it.
I have not researched deeply enough into Reps to make such a video. I might look into it tho.
I also have 120€ wheels, they have TÜV Certfication, so they're good quality, so who gives a shit?
Well, Bladed did mention that there was some reps that actually became mainstream... And not all reps wheel are shit wheels...
Actually, many high quality reps comes out of China too. My HRE Flowform rep is from China, but they are only about 10% cheaper than the HRE. The quality is superb though, the machine shop is very well known and they only take a small batch of orders each month. The forged wheels are definitely a huge step up from my original AMG wheels that came with the car. I liked the style but didn't like cast Flowform, so I decided on the reps with some research and recommendations.

butterfly doors or scissor doors are honestly useful on vettes they are so wide that with small parking spots its hard to open a door normally with out having to hold your door or hit their car

Trying to force a friend to mod their car a certain way, I look back at this and never I want to do this ever again, it added to the horribleness that I was of my past self as I was honestly a mini dictator and I now suffer the consequences of being lonley af
I have a grand prix for my first car and it's a happy medium of practicality as a first car and being fun to drive.
I transitioned from a grocery getter with a massive following here in Sweden (Volvo 940) to a cheap daily driver (Suzuki Swift Sport) and a rare classic (Volvo P1800ES). I have flow formed wheels on my suzuki and the original steelies with the aluminium lip on the classic volvo
Flush is hella nice, and I personally love a slight stretch. Think it looks hella good!
But it is different on my classic volvo. It just looks good with the original tuck

I think reps should be okay as long as they don’t plan on hard tracking or anything. I have a Z with reps, clean fitment and everything. Yet I never track it. I just enjoy going fast sometimes and sitting pretty lol

im with you man, poking fenders are horrendous. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! on my classic mini that i had. i had the widest wheels under it that could fit. but the tires where semi slick, so whenever it snowed i chose safety and put on winter tires. but they were like two thirds of the width from the semi slicks. so my fenders looked disgusting!... always felt ashamed. did put some spacers behind the wheel but there's only so much that you can fill.
Honestly I do love your corvette the itasha wrap the wheels everything I love it
I really like your 'Vette... And honestly, I think the silver center caps actually accent the car well... It accents the anime vinyls and the pinstripes...
As for modding a car, I think visual upgrades are quite fine, as long as you have a balance of visual and performance upgrades...
One thing people fail to realize is... Some visual upgrades actually serve a purpose, like widebody kits and GT spoilers and front splitters... With a good set of wheels and tyres, the widebody kit and GT spoilers and front splitters make the car more stable and provides better cornering in race conditions... Of course that's if your racing your car... Of course, if you're going to race your car, a full roll cage would be a good idea not only for safety, but it would make your car more rigid and handle better... These are more extreme cases of modifications, it yeah... Of course, if you're just making a "Show 'N Shine" car... All that really ain't needed...
I say just do what makes *YOU* happy and f*** what everybody else says...
One that many newbies do is get a cheap beater car and do cheap mods, like Muffler deletes to make it sound competent. I get that around my town quite a bit.

Once I get my first car, I'll probably be a little bit of a ricer, since I'll be getting a Kia, probably with parts retro fitted for it. Mabye performance stuff if I can find any, but I'll probably have a custom made body kit.
I grew up in a hot rod family so when I hear real wheels I think Crager or American Racing US Mags etc. But for my FoST I went with Sparcos since 5x108 is a pain to buy for and I think they are awesome for the price.

I bought my current car for 27 000 SEK (about 3200USD). It's a dark blue 170hp Volvo V70 2.4 from 2006, so it's a face lift version. I have adjustable coil-overs from J-Spec Sweden, black Devil Eyes and 225/45/18 Kumho tires on Volvo Ocean Storm wheels.
I've never really had a river phase I guess, my first car was a 01 monte Carlo that I left stock, and then I ended up getting a loan on a 2010 si and all I've done is wheels and a muffler delete, and I bought a 96 teg that's lowered on reps. But I've never done anything rice, other than stickers and I like revving my cars lol. I learned what not to do early on from videos making fun of ricers lol

All my cars are completely stock atm including factory rims and I do plan on keeping them stock for many different reasons main reason being they are older vehicles and are less common to the point I have never seen another one in person or at show/ meets minus the daily driver which is still stock but still a common car. At this time I have a 1958 ford f100 still with the factory i6, 1958 mercury 850 with factory SD-477 v8 with a Holmes 500 this truck is currently a project and doesn’t run, 1979 Mazda RX7 with factory 12A and finally the daily is currently a 2007 Mazda 3 hatchback with the 2.3l

I put reps on my v6 challenger because it’s all I can afford and honestly they don’t look bad. Now I just need to lower it a little.
I admit, I’ve done sins on my Mercedes c250. I look back and I can’t believe I added vortex generators, a decal that said Mercedes across the windshield, stickers, roof deflector when I already have a moon roof, plasti dip my stock wheels and added reflective tape on the lip of the rim🤢😂. I don’t know what I was thinking🤣. Now my car looks great and fresh😮💨

Just on the wheel topic I have a 2007 bmw 335i coupe e92 and for the wheels I replaced the factory ones with matte black NS series rims off of the website called carid each rim was around $144 but it was the cheapest black rims I could get ecstunning had black rims for $2000 I tried plasti dipping my old rims black but I wanted darker and a got matte. Just get whatever rims that make you happy. I also replaced the ns logo with a black and white carbon fiber bmw emblem on the wheels.

regarding reps, japan racing has gotten pretty good these days, I have a set of 16" JR3's on my civic, and have thrown it around some mountain roads quite aggressively, like, brakes started smoking driving, and it being an EP2, it's not having drums. What helps them a lot tho, is that they are replicating TE37's, which is a very strong wheel, 6 spokes, and each one is thicc.
If you have reps just be honest about it, same with stickers. When I go to car meets, and someone asks about them, not one moment do I think to tell them that they are te's. Stickers? fuck loads of them, but only like 2 are of brands that are NOT on the car, and again, not lying about it.
Long story short, be proud of what you own, that will get you further than the fake it till you make it attitude.

I slapped out a ford focus. It was cringe, i have stripped them now that i passed it on to my brother. I now refuse to put more than 3 stickers on my SI.
Yeah. I got myslef a 2000 Alfa GTV 1.8ts for cheap. Thing has bad paint but it was a dream car. Sure it isnt the max engine version but i wanted it. For now im gonna use some OEM wheels and if some day i find a gut set of 5x98 wheels then i could buy them even if they are expensive.
With the fitment point, isn't it better from a performance standpoint to keep smaller wheels for the reduced rotating weight?
