    The exhaust cam gear is making a slight noise that goes away if I spray a little lube spray behind gear...there's no wobble and seals were done a few years ago. Any idea what's causing it?

    Question. On the right cam was the guide pin at 12 o'clock before you put the vvt gear or 11 clock ( 30 deg to left.

    Would you recommend just doing the cam gear and cam shafts at the same time? Since you have to take off the radiator and other stuff for both jobs

      Yes it is probably the best option to do both at the same time, we wont going to buy the cam gears at the time, hence the reason why we did this process twice

    How were you able to keep the cams at TDC when breaking loose the bolts for each cam gear and when you torque them down? I was under the impression the cam covers needed to be removed to use a wrench y to I hold each cam in place.

      Ik this is kind of late but I was just reading comments and wanted to say if anyone else had the same question.
      On the JZ you don’t need to remove the valve cover to change the VVTI gear or no vvti gear as long as your hold the crank bolt while cracking them lose as the belt will keep it in time very simple to do time jobs on jz are a cake walk I would really anyone to learn on one

    I have GE vvti with gte conversion will this work with stock ecu no problem?

      Best off going standalone ecu to get full functionality of your car. stock ecu is very limited and not worth keeping

    Hey I know this is an old video I’m going BC stage 2 cams and want to get the Vvti Exhaust gear how did you know when it was properly dialed in?

      There is instructions on where you set the cam gear. Your tuner also will have more flexibility in tuning your car with the cam gear

    Quick question if I put on the cam gear, I don't really have to change anything else do I. And if not how many degrees can I advance the timing without having to change anything?

      correct, you can advance or retard timing by +2 or -2 degrees

      @Paul B the cams make car feel like it has more top end power! And pulls more harder thoughout the gears! Very noticeable, but have yet to dyno for proven figures

      @@josesandoval4274 yep that's right, they are "drop in cams" dont require tune but uts reccomended for maximum performance

    Any advantage to going for a new intake cam gear over replacing the o-ring on the old cam gear as most people seem to do?

      @Paul B well while the cam gear was off basically putting a new part is always best option, plus it’s not too expensive for the cam gear anyway, so we opted to change the complete unit rather than just the seal!

      ​@@AutoMotiv8ed so just installed the new one there's no procedure on lubricating or priming it first cuz the new one out of the box is dry and if you shake it around a little bit it cling and clangs

      Ran very well! Fuel consumption was the same as prior

      @Spencer Clark Hi, great question
      To simplify it for you, cam gears increase torque and horsepower without having to change the camshaft(s) and are mandatory for engines that are milled, forced induction, high compression and/or utilizing aftermarket competition cams
      BC adjustable cam gears deliver the easiest way to dial in more horsepower and/or torque without getting underneath the valve cover, disassembling the engine or dealing with onboard electronics.

      Mostly just changes where the power peaks. Can dial it in to shift your power from low mid or higher in the rpm. They don't really add more power. Just adds tunability and allows very fine for specific builds.
