Hi! I passed the ecpe exam and I wanted to say thank you for helping me! Your videos really hepled me especially on the vocabulary and speaking part. Although l am done with studying English I ll keep watching your videos because I think they are very helpful!
Thanks for sharing mate! I was already thinking about going for the ECPE given that I'm way more into the US culture than I am into the British culture, so I would rather avoid dealing with those archaic expressions that they expect you to know in Cambridge exams.. so thanks again! I'm definitely going for the ECPE
Thank you for your detailed explanation and the style of teaching. Would you tell me, how many errors are acceptable for CPE, yet to get qualified? Similarly for ECPE?
Generally, it's not only how many errors you make but rather the type of errors you make. To explain, if you are trying to use complex structures like inversions and make a slight error, you may not be penalized so heavily (as at least you are trying to use them and are obviously aware of them). However, if you make basic errors in syntax or basic tenses like the present simple etc then , they will penalize you quite heavily. To pass a proficiency exam with an 'A' you pretty much need to speak like a native speaker, which means basic errors should be few and far between. Hope this helps!!!
Yes. BUT!!! The difference between them in terms of level of difficulty is chaotic! CPE stands head and shoulders above ECPE, so I'd say there's no dilemma as to which one candidates should opt for. If you want to prove to yourself that your level of English is indeed high, then take CPE. If you just want this certificate for your CV, then take ECPE. This pseudo-dilemma is one of the biggest lies ever fed to the Greek people!
