    Update: The first question in the C2 Proficiency speaking paper is now "Where do you live?" rather than "Where are you from?" - a small but significant change.

    I am one of the people who was eagerly waiting for this video, so, here I am....all ears. You two are amazing. My heart always skip a beat when you talk about my beloved " tierrina" , so yes, quaint and picturesque to say the least. Thank you guys for the video, that doesn't make the C2 less scary, though 😂😂😂.

    Hi Ben! I'm taking the CPE exam on Monday and the Speaking part is the most frightening for me (to say the least), mostly because it is tough for me to figure out appropriate ideas to communicate on the spot, I'm kind of an introverted person and anxiety loves to play tricks on my brain. Having said that, I'm sure that with your help I'll challenge myself to do my utmost. Wish me good luck!

    • @tothepointenglishwithben.
      @tothepointenglishwithben.  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think the speaking paper is more difficult for introverts. Not least because they (we) need more time to think before speaking. Just stay focused and remember that the examiners are only evaluating your English level, nothing more. Good luck!

    Thank you Ben. It was such a great help. Please create more videos of this type. You were a little nervous because I think you were trying to teach us special vocabulary. You weren't your true self all the time through the video. You used more advanced vocabulary and idiomatic expressions than your interlocutor, who was also a splendid speaker of English. I appreciate both of you, very well done.

    Something worth minding in my opinion, in case one didn't: this channel's owner uses here a very useful idiom: to keep the ball rolling (meaning in this case to keep the conversation going). Needless to say it was a great job done on both parts in this outstandingly valuable video.

    Regarding the sounds that could come to mind from the woman sewing , the first thing I though of was her breathing. I am pretty sure we would here that 😃 and the thread going through the cloth ( no t sure if there is a specific sound word for that) THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS, THEY ARE SO VERY-MUCH USEFUL

    • @LaMansionDelIngles
      @LaMansionDelIngles ปีที่แล้ว

      That's true, Teresa, you might hear her breathing and maybe the sound of the thread going through the cloth. These are very soft, low sounds and not always obvious. Well done for thinking of them!

    Your videos were extremely useful for me to prepare.
    They didn´t let me expand on the first two questions (where are you from, are you working or studying). Instead, they surprised me with a different question about my lifestyle, which really took me by surprise.

    Well, to tell the truth I was expecting much more from a C2 level exam. I thought it was answered with quite accessible words nothing far from the reality of a student with some some regular practice in speaking and reading from advanced and diverse sources.

    Hi Ben! I have just a question. It's supposed that in this level you have to use advanced grammar but I didn't hear structures like inversion, impersonal passive, to mention but a few.

    • @tothepointenglishwithben.
      @tothepointenglishwithben.  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The candidate should use a range of grammatical forms with flexibility. The grammar should be appropriate depending on the context. Inversion, for example, is not common in spoken English as it's quite formal, as is the passive voice. Those structures are more suitable and common in written English.

Do you, by any chance have a slight idea how many people in Spain, already have passed the C2 exam, or haw many people in Spain present themselves annually ( and pass), just out of curiosity really, greets from Madrid!
