I dont paper tune anymore. I window tune. Sometimes hard to read the nock tear if its tempered glass though
I was literally thinking “I wonder how many times he has hit the window” and boom! 😅😂
Same lol
I was right there with you 😂
Me too😂
I always just put a mark on the blank ones for every 10 yards out to 70 and then grabbed the sight tape closest to all the points every time I try to do 20 and go straight to 60 I just end up losing arrows
I've tried the tapes. Archers advantage is my go to now. Takes time to get setup, but the tape is more accurate than I am at a given distance. Only way to go for me.
How do you tape it? What style paper are you using?
Print on regular paper. Clear packing tape on the outside. Double sided tape in the inside. Trim to fit.
It’s the line of sight verses bore line. It’s a relationship, it’s really important for rifles in using a ballistic app.
New to the channel. What I love is that you show the good and the bad. Great content. Started shooting again last year after over a decade off and I'm learning a lot.
This turned into a great ad for your arrows. Perfectly timed video - just grabbed my first slider sight last night!
Man, I am so glad I watched this! I just put an HHA Opto lite on my Ritual, and I severely got it wrong. I spent all day using different size & weight arrows like an idiot. I am putting new GAS Ghost XV strings on my "Ebay Budget Bow," and I am going to get it bullet holed. Then, l am going to use the same arrows to get my sight marks. Chris, man, I love your videos, and JUST because of you, I will be rocking BeeReal Customs. Love you brother! Thanks again for such informative & accurate videos.
Have you ever played with archers advantage? It takes some time to set up but I’ve found that you can dial them extremely accurate especially for a target set up. I see why you use that tapes for your hunting bows cause it’s easy but just curious if you’ve tried any of the softwares out there
My brother and I grew up shooting and hunting with Bows and we are pretty good then life got in the way and we didn't do much bow hunting for years we're just now getting it back into it I realized I got a lot to learn things have changed a lot in 20 years
So I just bought my first actually decent bow. I’m 17 and I’m trying to explore and really get the best setup I can. I’ve shot bows my whole life, but I’ve wanted to experiment with some things with my new bow. For example, what would be some benefits/cons of a thumb button release vs. a traditional wrist strap release with a trigger. And what are some pros and cons of using 4 fletched arrows vs. 3 fletched arrows.
You should explain Sighting in The HHA with the uv3xl hunting cartridge! Also showing how to get the max distance with that setup and the hunting cartridge
Your a legend young man! From South Africa and going hunting this week - thanks for showing how to setup my new HHA!!!!
You should explain Sighting in The HHA with the uv3xl hunting cartridge! Also showing how to get the max distance with that setup and the hunting cartridge
Plz no one explains this with the hha and the hunting cartridge together especially while trying to create a custom sight tape
Great video Chris! I need to sight in my HHA and this will really help me.
I guess you did not use you full draw range finder to its full potential otherwise it should have shown you were going to hit the window lol.
I look forward to the next double check video on the sight tape!
This has become my favorite channel now it's just down the reps
Thanks my guy, I just made my Beereal arrows they look sick thanks bro. 🙏🏽
Archers advantage crushes when it comes to sight tapes! Takes a minute to get all your measurements, but once you do. It’s DANG accurate!
Knew that window smack was coming lol
Same! I was just waiting for the "thwack" and Chris didn't disappoint. Hahah
This is the perfect upload. Got my HHA Tetra Max RYZ and just waiting for my UV3 dual pin to come in the mail. I got the entire weekend to sight it in, if the scope comes in this Friday😬🤙🏽 Also all the parts were ordered from UV, HHA, and your website. Mahalos!
When are the arrow wraps coming out!?!? I need to get some for my hunting arrows to match my beereal heat vanes!
Good and informative video as always Chris. Thx and keep em rollin'
How possible would it be for you to do a product review on the CBE Engage hybrid sight? I know you like the landslyde and the CBE looks very similar.
I'll give you a review on the CBE. It's nowhere near the quality of Spot Hogg, HHA or Axcel. My Engage Hybrid rattled like crazy because of poor tollerances in the rail. I'd stay away from CBE. They use to make good USA made sights but not anymore. Made in China garbage now.
Can you do a breakdown of the gear you wear, or add links to them in the description please.
Do you have a video showing how to put together a top of the line Mathew’s bow with a sight, stabilizers and grip?
You should do a video on how you shoot a button release vs hinge
Great meeting you at tac this weekend man. Also is that bar the tetra max tournament 900? Fixing to order a new bar for mine
You just keep putting out Great useful content! Thank you, keep it coming!!
Is there a way to shoot a bow from a fixed stand, to take human error out of the equation while sighting in and tuning?
For sure going to try out that peep trick! I was dead on at 20 & 60, but was 2 inches high at 40. I thought it was parachuting, but this makes sense! I moved my peep higher so 20 was comfortable for an indoor 3d league (20yds and in). My math brain is trying to work out why it makes a difference though.
Will you please do a video on how to site in a CBE engage hybrid
Where can I get that needle, as I’m wanting to shift out the Magnifying Glass?
If in doubt throw it out. I had a splinter in my left hand for a better part of year from and arrow that looked fine after hitting a nail.
For heavy arrows (600+gr), I've never been able to get an off the shelf tape to work beyond 60y or so.
I use Archer's Advantage and sight in at 30 yds and 100 yds... check 3 yds for in between.
Check 60 yds and 120 yds.
Is 20 yards supposed to be at top or supposed to be 20 yards on the buttom? My sight is a single pin, and my 20 yard is on buttom. so idk if that makes any difference.
Appreciate the content Chris. The peep sight trick is a bonafide LIFE HACK!
I’ve been having issues with this same problem for a month gonna try this and hope it fixes it
Just a quick question if you have the time? First love the videos, keep them coming. My question is I just got a lift 33. Installed my old black mountain carbon dr single pin. It was previously on a mathews chill. So I'm sighting in new bow which is a 70# bow same as chill was. Had to move sight housing up because I was hitting high. Figured because new bow faster. My question is my 20 to 30 yard pin are very close down the tape but my gap between 30 and 40 yard is substantially wider. Seem to me with this bow it should be closer, are is this normal. Seems like gap is wider than it was on my chill. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
Chris with the MKC shirt! Do a review on their knives/ your knife collection
Will you ever redo the black limited scope housings? I REALLY want one to blend in with my bow 😁
I was thinking as he shot “he’s aweful close to that window” then *thunk*
What housing are you using? I'm using a 1.75". I just received an email from HHA that since I am out of adjustment to the right for use with the v3x bridgelok, I will have to use the puck and mount to the side of my bow. I was wanting to use the bridge lock on my V3X. My sight is the Tetra max tournament 4 pin.
Axcel… just mark the 20 and 60 yard marks on the blank tape and remove it and put it side-by-side with the yardage tapes.
Haven’t we all shot through the window before? If you ain’t hitting a window you ain’t trying. Won’t say why I did it but the arrow was smoked.😆
I shot through a door frame. Does that count? 😂🤣😂
I’m wondering how many times someone was about to walk past that window and seen an arrow go flying past. Lol. Is there a rule of thumb when friends are visiting. Is there a sign you put up. Ha ha. My kids run around to much for me to try that but it’s a great idea.
How do I shoot 60 yards if 20 yards for me looking at the target though the sight and peep the target is kinda blurry.
Always love new videos !
Also a good idea you haven’t showed yet is how to swap back and forth from a single pin hunting set up on UV3 to a lens .
I’ve got the UV3 for 22’ hunting season and bought a lens for 3D and it took me a minute to get figures out I can take out the pin and put the lens right in
No asa this year?
Is there anyway you could do a review on the new redline torch dovetail single pin?
How come you swapped from the Landslyde to the HHA? I'm considering either one, but can't really make up my mind
Griv is the man! That is a great cheat code. I shoot 20 and 60, then check 40 find a sight tape then go to 100 and check and possibly go up or down one tape. Gonna give that peep thing a try!
So what happens if you can’t make a perfect 60 yard shot?
Which brand/model sight were you using in the video?
Im a new new beginner trying to sight in my 3 pin adjustable. Just wanted to hear about sight tape and what it is, and tbh the first 3 mins of the video you may as well be speaking another language lol. I think we often forget that terminology is a huge part of what needs to be explained along with whatever the subject matter is. That being said I at least know that sight tape is another aid to help shoot more accurate 🤷♂🤷♂
What if I can’t sight in my 60 because I don’t have the clearance for my arrow?
So i have a quick question, or for anyone. When shooting an adjustable sight. Do you keep the same anchor for every yardage ? I have used fixed pins for years! Just recently got an adjustable pin (spot hogg). It seems like when i keep the same anchor. I am all over the place. But when i put my peep aligned with the housing. My groups are so much better. I have people telling me to keep the same anchor. So i’ve been trying so hard and practicing that. But my groups are so all over the place.
You align the peep sight to the sight as your normally would. Basically try to keep the first circle on or around the second circle when you look through your peep. When you turn your dial for different yardages, it just sets your sight lower so you’re technically aiming higher but your sight picture shouldn’t change when you aim. If your groupings are everywhere, then check your form and sight picture. If those are good then it’ll be a 2nd and 3rd axis fix from what I’ve read into. (Someone correct me if I’m wrong please)
@@Carranzac98 i always align my peep to the housing. But as a new person to an adjustable pin. I was told not to. Keep the same anchor. So my peep wouldn’t be aligned with the housing. So when i did that. My groups were all over. But when i’d adjust. My groups were leaps and bounds better. So i was confused on how my form should be on an adjustable sight. Lol how i was told to do it. Wasn’t doing me any good what so ever. 😅😅
@@Carranzac98 also my axis is solid on my bow. I think a lot of my grouping issues was coming from not having the right guidance on how to properly use an adjustable sight. I have been hunting since i was like 14 (37 now). I’ve always just used fixed pins until last year. I decided to leap into it. But like i said above. I had no real guidance on how to properly anchor and shoot an adjustable sight.
Thank you very much for your comment.
I shoot an HHA single pin adjustable, and when I’m shooting longer yardages, I maintain the same draw and anchor point(aligning my peep and sight housing), and make sure to pivot at the waist for the longer yardages. IMHO it’s never a good idea to alter your anchor point, even with an adjustable sight.
@@midwest8six607 Whoever told you not to align your peep to the housing gave you bad advice. Always align your peep to the housing. That's what gives you consistency at various yardages.
I'm not a huge fun of moving the peep sight to change your anchor. Interesting though.
What mount do you have your sight on? If I may ask, if anyone knows please help!
@chris bee if I use a 5 pin sight do I use my top pin when doing the 60 yards of use my 5th pin to do the 60?
I have a fast Eddie 5 pin slider and I used my top pin to do 20 yards and 60 yards and it came out pretty close.
Hope to see you and Kaitlyn and crew in Utah for TAC.
Can you do a video like this for the new uv slider
Just a quick question wich ultra view scope should I use for 3d tournaments the xl or uv3
I would personally recommend the uv3 that’s what I use and I just prefer it over anything I have tried
How do you unloosen something?? 🤣🤣
Chris, whats your arrow weight for this vid?
Black gold goes off speed of bow it’s really easy
Seems the Trophy Ridge Digital Pro gets very little love.
Dude! I was getting ready to write a comment asking if you have ever hit that window! Then you hit the window lol
Nice sweatshirt!
What poundage are you shooting on this bow?
Literally right as you were going to take that shot I thought to myself he’s going to hit that window lol. We’ve all been there. Lol
Your ears must have been burning because I literally just opened the comments to ask if you've ever thought about "what distance will hit my window," and then you answered my question!
Good info. Great shot on the window!!! Ha Ha!!!!
Where do you get the small pin that replaces the glass magnifier for the HHA sight?
Yeah im totally interested in getting the same thing. I dont like the one that comes with it. Any info would be appreciated!
Do you think the black gold
3 pin pro HD dovetail is a good sight for whitetail deer hunting
It's a great sight for just about everything
Where can you buy that needle?
I have an HHA and set it at 20 & 60 per instructions… but once I move it to 100yds the arrow fletching hits the actual sight housing…. How do you fix this?
There are a few videos explaining what you can do to get max distance out of your sight. If its a double pin or more, make the lowest pin your slider is one thing. Making sure your sight is as far back on your bow as possible is another. You syarting point when setting up 20 is also important, so your housing is as high as possible at 20. Im sure i missed a lot of more tricks to get more yards out of it but theese are some atleast 🙂
Love the videos Chris
Window was my first thought when you moved to 60 lol
Lol the intro 👍🏼😂I like the B 😂😂
I wonder how many other people along with me were worried about the window hahahahahaha
Literally said to myself(he is going to shoot the window) whammy, hits the window lol.
A roll of masking tape or hockey tape, and a fine tip sharpie. That’s how us old heads did it lol
Shooting an inch of tape a 60yds, man I’m not that good
Any input on redline 3pin slider?
Your taking advise on a sight tape from a guy who never has the right sight tape 😅
What can I do to make my sight tape land on 0. My 20 on my HHA tetra max is around 20 on the sight in tape and my sight is bottomed out.
Where the scope connects to the slider there should be a infinite adjust plate. You need to move that infinite adjust plate down till your 0 is your 20. There are 2 screws on the adjust plate, loosen those 2 screws to do so.
@@XXXston3wallXXX that’s why I said my sight is bottom out. The infinite adjust plate is all the way down, I can’t go any lower.
@@teeroww7868 im wondering the same if you have the hunting cartridge and set the bottom pin to your slider
Pencil,Paper, clear tape and a lot of shooting...
Vertical line?
Am i the only one who spotted the new bow in a box in the background?… new bow build video?
When you get my age you will put the magnifier back on.
That’s pretty careless shooting thru an open window.
No one can see that your shooting. I would be worried to death someone would walk by at the exact time I took a shot!!
I love your videos, but this one made me cringe!
i like hha
Buddy shows up gets shot walking by the window. Not smart won't be taking advice from a guy who is this irresponsible.
I use a strap around the wrist for my release.
That way I can put my thumb behind my head or neck and my finger my pointer finger along my job you'll never change your anchor
"8 inch variance " That's what my ex wife said...
