Glad you posted this, Kate! I feel like I've only really approached living with intent in my late forties (current age), and I tell you what, it does lead one to some tough questions, even about things you wouldn't think to question, like hobbies. But I feel like I'm building toward a more confident self who has less noise in his head and connects better with others.
Seeing a video by someone who's going through a similar decision making process definitely helps this feel less lonely!

I love your authenticity. Our past experiences create who we are and hopefully they are learned lessons.

Amazing video Kate, packed full of info for young and old. No way do you sound like you are on your high horse, you are the real deal girl. Intentional living is such a healthy way to live, knowing your boundaries and where and how you want to spend your time is essential for good mental health. And you have ads! is that the first?? I'm so happy for you cause we know what that means! lol

My girlie!! Great video again...and no, you do not come off sounding at all "high horse"-ish. This is great information for people of all ages.
One thing I've notice over the years, most people have some sort of reckoning with their lives around mid to late twenties. Not all, but most. Mine happened at 27. My son's was late 30's. For me, it was a matter of realising that this is MY life and no one else's. Much like you, I was living it for everyone else. I was a hollow amalgam of the expectations of others. It sucked mightily. After a personal (and rather extreme) crisis, I decided to live my life as if it were MY life. Much like you, I ended up dropping a lot of "friends". I had to figure out what I really wanted to be "when I grew up". Eventually, I got myself on the right track for me (everyone's track is different) and my life has been pretty wonderful since. It's not been without its own crises and tragedies, but at least they were mine (mostly) and I was able to survive them (most definitely).
I've also learned that you never stop readjusting. You never stop learning. You never stop trying to "figure out what you want to be as you grow up". Ever. I'm now 70 and in the beginning of my latest adjustment. It's proving to be, shall we say, interesting. BUT! The good thing is, once you start truly living your life as if is is YOUR life (intentional living), you get much better at weathering the storms. There will always be storms. AND it is ok to snarl at said storms...just do not make that snarling into a career, of sorts.
Also...1.93k subscribers as of 1/13/25!!! WOOHOO! I'm so proud of you.
