I don't know if you'll see this, as this clip is a few years old, but if you want to save your hands from extra stress, cut open the caulking tube and scrape all the caulk into a seal tight jar. It will still be good, and not dry out.
Mod Podge?! Who knew! I'll have to give that a try. I used a thin lacy mold for the 1st time the other day & used air dried clay(out of curiosity) & it did not work! lol It was a mess. Love using my IOD molds on plastic baubles for Christmas ornaments, but I've seen a lot of people using the thinner lacy molds & wanted to give it a try. Just wasn't completely sure what type of medium to use. Now I've got a couple of new ideas. Thank you!
I wanted to cast leaves for faux terrarium plants but didn't want to use rigid resin and had no idea what I could use to create my "plastic" plants. This video is perfect - Thanks!
Thank you , I use Acrylic sealer very easy to use keep nozzle on then put it in the freezer for about an hr take out of moulds when cold , they remain flexible.
Absolutely genius, this will work out so much more affordable and I have a surplus of hard as nails left over from a diy project! Thank you so much for sharing
You are a lifesaver!! Thank you so much. Easy clear simple explanations, well done!! and thank you. Finally, someone in the UK is doing this stuff. You are a motivation to people like me on this side of the pond! Thank you, than you. I will subscribe to your channel.
My husband wonders why I'm on youtube all the time and it's because I keep coming across amazing people like you that have amazing ideas. My ? is. How do you store them and how long do they stay bendy.?
Hehehh that’s awesome! I just store them in a tin, honestly could do with a better system because I just throw them in there. They stay bendy forever. At least in my experience, I’ve had some for 2 years and they’re still bendy :)
@@IvetaZiedina if a person is refurbishing furniture they could use this system or put on a frame. Possibles are endless. I need to find several tubes. 😂🤦♀️🥰

Hi 🖐🏻 I’m new to your channel & new to making moulds 😊 Thank you for the great tips, I was looking for something light & bendy to use. Now a trip to my local hardware store 😂 x
I tried it with my modelling paste and there were too many air bubbles in it, I only kept a few of them. Think I’ll go get the silicone gun out lols. Thank you for another amazing video xxx
Thank you so much for this! I've been trying to find something really flexible that's available in the UK.....spent a fortune buying DAP from the U.S & this was literally right on my doorstep!
Well I never Iveta, who would of thought that you could use window and door frame sealant or No Nails to make embellishments but of course you did lol!! of course, your just a fountain of knowledge xx
Hahaha trust me, I did not come up with all of this all by myself, I watch and learn from others just like yourself but when you start using other people’s knowledge you find that it might work different for you and you have to tweak a few things, find different materials etc. So you end up adding to the fountain of knowledge 😄
Thank you 😊 I so glad to see at last someone from UK😅 I like your videos, a lot of practical information, straight to the point and very helpful. Following your instructions U have used Hard as Nails glue from company 151 (£1 Poundland) - works like a charm, now I am going to use flexible acrylic siliconized sealant (£1.50 Inexcess) . It so much fun when we can use something different than posh expensive brands. I am looking for nice lace/ texture silicone mould for baubles decorating, could you please recommend some? Its not easy to find something really nice. Thank you for sharing 😊
And BTW warning - don't use "ever build external frame sealant" Doesn't dry even in very shallow moulds for several days, took me ages to remove this and clean my moulds. Thank you for all your videos, I watch them all the time and learn a lot from you 😅
I tried the idea but I couldn’t remove the silicon from the molds Could you help me please Did you put any paste or something before spreading the silicon

I'm now gathering information from fellow crafters on where they find their moulds :D A lot of people in the US say they buy them on Amazon, and if you go on redesign with prima website they have an online store locator so you can find other retailers. not many brick and mortar shops sell moulds, or at least not as large variety so looking online will be your best bet! :)

Help what am I doing wrong.i bought no more nails and it just dries then cracks when I go to take it out is there a specific make of no more nails I should get thanks
Hey Yvette, I tried putting the white silicone sealant in my moulds and now after even 4 days they are not coming out at all... Can u pls help me with this ... Or else all my moulds would get ruined... Pls help ....
It is very important that the silicone is acrylic. There is also acetate silicone and it can be used to make the mold itself. But acrylic silicone is used to fill the mold, to make decorations. If you can't peel it off the mold, you've probably used acetate and destroyed the mold. It has an unpleasant smell like strong vinegar.
Depending on the shape/thinned of the mould, some very thin but deeper moulds like the ones I used on my “Victorian” style baubles before Christmas are really difficult to get out when wet so I use other stuff for those but for the most part you can take them out straight away ☺️
I just usually use either pva glue or same “hard as nails” adhesive. You just need to be careful with superglued coz some of h them react with the sealant and melt it away
Bummer! Unfortunately silicone sticks to silicone so if you have a silicone mold and fill it will silicone, that will happen. In the video she used "door and window sealant" - not sure what the material actually was - and the other option was a kind of glue (presumably that does not stick to silicone, because she didn't demonstrate that one).
When I work with sealants and some silicones, I put manageable amounts into disposable pastry bags. Easier to control and use.
I don't know if you'll see this, as this clip is a few years old, but if you want to save your hands from extra stress, cut open the caulking tube and scrape all the caulk into a seal tight jar. It will still be good, and not dry out.
I have been trying to find something cheap to make moulds with so they can bend like this thank you so much for this video 🥰
Finally I found someone to make sense, thanks for the tip, your video is the best explaining flexible paste.
For delicate lacey molds, Modpodge is an ideal medium. It dries clear and bendable.
Ooooooo that’s so good to know! I’ll have to try it out over the weekend! Thank you for the tip! ❤️

Good idea! It may be worth noting that not all flexible sealers can be painted over - so check label before buying if being used for painted projects.

You can paint them, might have to do 2 coats as the surface is a bit more slippery but you can most definitely paint them :)
Try putting a coat of gesso on first, especially the surface is more slick. It will help the paint adhere much easier.
