I’m friends with him on Facebook. He’s still these kids’ dad and heavily involved in their lives. From what I see, he seems more constant in their lives than the mother. I wish we could start him a gofundme.

It's good to know that the majority of the world is understanding but that one person can ruin your day if we allow it. I taught my son to pray for each person who hurts our feelings. Our Lord is healing my son each day. Praise God!

This hits home. I was my dad's first daughter, I'm still a daddy's girl at 30, but he was a step-in father. He didn't have to be there, but he chose to raise me when my bio dad didn't. ❤❤ This man is wonderful and the updates I'm reading make me so happy for him and HIS kids.

@blkrfleb9718 Sadly not all stepfathers or stepmothers care about their wife's or husband's kids from a previous marriage. (I know having been the step child to a stepfather who felt I was "in the way" and made that known to me from a young age.) This was after he adopted me even, most likely because my mother wanted him to. So I applaud the steps who are good parents in spite of the kids not being theirs biologically. I was treated like an outcast many times by him when I was a young child, although as I got older his behavior towards me did get better, but the emotional damage of not being loved or cared about by him had already been done to me when I was little.

The saddest part, the ignorant woman does not want the responsibility in letting her children know that she could not keep her legs closed and that Mr. Benning is not their biological father. @Lara Love you can't go by looks to determine paternity, especially if a child is mixed. Both of my kids looked biracial as babies and can still pass as biracial even though they aren't. Black people are extremely diverse.

Update: as of August 26th 2023 he still is in both children’s life. I found him Facebook and he’s one of the proudest step-in fathers to both children. They’re constantly with him and he’s at every school event watching them grew up to be some of the most well rounded, intelligent, playful children that they can be. He does suffer from some mental health issues where things still don’t make sense but he’s working through it. He his also doing a mghtly fine job as a chef might I add.

He signed both birth certificates. So, legally they are his kids. He's still on the hook for child support. When he got that text, that shouldve been a red flag.
