I lived in a house for 9 years. Alone with my two children. My landlord was a happily married man. He developed a relationship with my son. He taught him how to do repairs around the house and paid him for his work. We never had any type of relationship, other than landlord tenant.

I had a lady with 2 kids renting from me for 4 years and after sheet got rid of her abusive husband she needed as much help as she could to get on her feet cause he was the soul provider I told her she was to not worry rent for a few months me an my son's mother ( I say that cause we're friends an not together ) got her son into sports an my son's mom would watch her daughter until she was able to pay for day care . Their are men or there that do believe in helping women with no strings . I was single at the time but didn't want anything from her but a friend ship an to watch her kids grow up an do the right things in life .I would do it all over again .

I am a registered nurse and you have to look at generations between both of them because somewhere along the line there could have been lighter skin black people in either the biological mother or the biological father's family that could have caused the baby to be lighter. I got chills of comfort when I say her reaction. I’m so happy for her. She was so glad it wasn’t a mistake at the hospital.
I can’t believe how evil this man was. Just because the poor baby wasn’t as similar to both his mother and father, he accused his wife of cheating and overwhelmed her to the point where she believe the baby was switched at birth.
Gaslighting is real. I was gaslit so much by someone that I actually started creating false memories. It was bizarre and maddening. Thankfully I realized it. He was doing stuff with my belongings and telling me he didn't touch my stuff. I started believing I actually got rid of some of my own stuff and had a vague memory of throwing it in the trash bin outside. Weeks later I found said item in a place I knew I never would've put it. He still denied ever touching it but I knew that time for sure that I was right. But it's scary that someone can literally drive you insane.

I was so scared of having my baby switched at birth (for no reason, just irrational pregnancy fears), but I was thankful that my baby's father reassured me that he would have the baby in sight at all times until I was out of the surgery room. Good lord. Our landlord has done so much for our family because he's a compassionate man. He told my mom he'd pick us up off the side of the road when my sisters tire went flat. He's fixed our cars, for free. He comes over to fix whatever we need fixed himself. So yeah, landlords can just be kind people without wanting anything in return.
