Love my 36" Blackstone. I agree with the wind guard thing though, It's very windy all the time by me so I'll be buying the wind guards. I've got a Traeger, a Weber gas, and the Blackstone and the Blackstone is by far my favorite. I cook on it at least twice a week.
I like the rear grease trap better. But built in wind shields, grill included, size and price point are very good. With the Culinary Blackstone there are no heat shields available so depending on the model it can be tricky getting it set up the way you want. I am impressed with the quality and price and what's included I see here. If I had to do it again I would give this some thought. But probably go with the Blackstone 36" which includes the air fryer. I don't think I would use the grill here.
I have a char griller flat iron 36". works great, didn't like the rear grease and heard from others that blackstone is very finicky with wind. The camp chef is a great griddle, just couldn't find any locally.
Used to have a Blackstone, tried the Camp Chef Pellet Grill, and purchased the SideKick for that pellet grill, that came with a 14" Camp Chef griddle. Getting introduced to Camp Chef and their products have totally changed our cooking game. Now I have a 3 burner Explorer that is interchangeable with everything that I can put on my SideKick burner on my pellet grill. We use their Pizza Oven, BBQ Box, Griddle(s) and more. Can't go wrong with this company and their versatility IMO.

Super video! Can't go wrong with either. I went Camp Chef for my pellet grill and Blackstone for the griddle. I liked the rear grease trap. It's more out of the way than CC and just easier to clean the flat top with it being in the middle and not in the way like it could be with the CC. Totally a matter of preference of course. The individual burner ignitor is a nice thing but also more parts maintain and repair. So I see that as a split the difference kind of thing. From my experience customer service from both companies has been very good, albeit slow in these covid and labor shortage times. And both have extensive online communities. Great video! I too have watched hours of videos comparing different flat tops. I'm leaning toward the Camp Chef. For me the rear grease collection on the Blackstone won't work because my set up is similar to yours. It would be hard if not impossible to access it without moving the griddle. I do have a question or concern about the Camp Chef though. If one or more of the burner igniters were to stop working would you still be able to light the burner or burners with the defective ignitoe from one of the other burners or would you have to light it manually with a match? Hey Barron, thanks for watching! If any of the other igniters still light the griddle, it will definitely eventually light up the whole griddle. However, there is a hole beside each knob that you can stick a torch style lighter through to light it. There is also a metal tong that you can use to attach matches to light it.
You would then have to use a long neck lighter to get it going. I have 3 Blackstone Pro series griddles and the igniter went out and have to get it going with what I wrote above and is not a problem at all unless you forget where the lighter is lol. Hope this helps someone and Godbless.

Does it throw a lot of heat off the back? I’d like to put it along the house like you have, but wondering how much space I’ll need to leave to make sure I don’t melt the siding.
Honestly, I would not recommend putting any grill near vinyl siding. That said, if you get the metal lid, that hangs off the back when you cook so that can add a barrier as well as a grease splash guard if you will. The siding on my house at that time was aluminum siding so I wasn't really concerned about that melting. Thanks for watching!

I too have the 600, love it. In my opinion the Blackstone has 2 advantges over the Camp Chef, that I wish Camp Chef would incorporate into their units. 4 wheels and how Blackstone converts to Natural Gas, WAY better. With Blackstone you can quickly and with almost no effort convert it back to LP for taking the unit to a friends house etc... These 2 issues are not deal breakers for me, but if my 600 had the ability to convert as easy and had 4 wheels, it would be FLAWLESS.

Does the grill cover work with the tank installed?
You mean the soft cover? If so, yes! It’s tight but that helps
@@BeergrYT Thanks
@@BeergrYT Quick question: how often do you use it and how often do you burn through a tank of propane, on average?
@@AereForstHey we probably use it 2-4x per week! And throughout the winter but I do bring it into my garage in the winter. Tank of propane will surprise you with how long they last. I usually only cook on low/med unless I’m searing steaks though.
Great video. Seems like a definite upgrade over blackstone
I think so too! Thanks for watching!
What is the exact size of the griddle plate? And how much did you pay at Dicks?
Here are all the specs www.campchef.com/cc-grills-ftg/flat-top-grill-600/CC-Grills-Flat-Top-Grill.html
I paid $349 but that was before all of the massive inflation so that’s irrelevant now. You can buy it without the grill grates now for $429. I’ve never even used my grill grates because I have other grills.
Where is the blackstone to compare it
Camp Chef is the best
Blackstone all the way
The Camp Chef is now $549 at Dick's.............trying to figure out what did they change for the $200 mark up from July2021 to now ?!?!?!
Glad you put the price. This grill is now $600 🤣
I’m glad I got it when I did! Lol
Current pricing....Amazon is 450 and Dicks is 599. Gotta love inflation
Isn't it glorious! Eggs now cost more than gas lol
Watch this video before you buy ANY GRIDDLE!
Do you already own a griddle? Let me know which one you have and why you love it, in the comments!
Cooking with a griddle MAY just be some of the most fun you'll have while cooking. They are so versatile, perfectly sear your steaks, cook fried rice and of course your favorite breakfasts and smash burgers!
This video is a full review and demonstration of the Camp Chef FTG600 griddle. While I make some comparative comments to Blackstone Griddles, they are both wonderful griddles and you won't be disappointed in either.

@@BeergrYT I am so subbing immediately.

Looks like price went up to $550
yea i mean its a global pandemic that has affecting shipping.
itll come back down after people vaccinate.
I really would like to purchase a Blackstone or Camp Chef griddle. I think they are both good griddles. I decided not to purchase either because they are made in China. I refuse to support China or any American company that deals with them.
What did you end up going with?
This guy loves red knobs😂
How many times can one one say “I
Iike the red knobs”…lol. Oh by the way…seasoning does NOT take a long time. Burn oil off 3x and done.
I said “red knobs” twice. Sorry that made you so angry 🤔
Seasoning takes about an hour, which if you really wanna cook on your brand new griddle, that’s a long time.
Great informative video. New subscriber and I like the wind guards built into the camp chef. Does it come with a lid? Check out The Flat Top King channel! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
Hey there, thanks for watching! The Camp Chef does not come with a wind guard. I purchased a stainless steel lid off of Etsy as well as a soft cover from Amazon. The weather where I live is NUTS so I would recommend both if you live in a place like mine.
He said price was $349. Up to $529 just four months later. Yikes!
I know it is bummer! I did purchase mine in the beginning of June so it is quite possible that I snagged last year's release. It might be worth holding out until April/ early June. I got mine at Dick's Sporting Goods and it was the last one.
Over 500 bucks now
It’s $429.99 on Camp Chefs website. Inflation blows!

😂😂😂
What kid is that
Huh?
Are you an old fart like me that plays Destiny 2!!!!!!
Eyes up Guardian! 😎
@@BeergrYT nice. Do you still play?
@@sm0k525 I haven’t played in a couple months unfortunately. Maybe when the new season hits I’ll find some time 😉
Man these are like $550 now at dicks
Haha yeah, everything is more expensive these days. Hopefully, they will come down in the spring.
@@BeergrYT Gonna keep an eye out on them, Ive been looking at getting one for a few months now. Almost instantly got a blackstone, but after doing some research i really like the features of this one.
@@dadude6619 You might be able to find last year's model for the lower price come May/June.
@@BeergrYT I hope so I'm definitely going to keep an eye out! They've got a pitboss 4 burner on sale at dicks for $250 right now, but might just take the chance and wait and see.
